Duel Academy: Destiny's End - Arc 2 - The Approaching Darkness [Started/Accepting via OOC]

"Well, you said you came from the future, and that your past self would be about ten now. You see, I come from the future too, but I'm only a couple of years behind my current Timeline." Zero explained. "I hope to find my brother on the Academy Island, so that we can go back to our own Timeline. In the meantime, I have just a couple more questions for you. First, How did you get to this Time? Second, how much do you know about the Dragonfire?" Zero asked.

[The White Wolf]

"How I got here is not of concern to you. And the Dragonfire? About just as much as you do." Akarui stated as he removed the glove off his left hand. "And when I said 'future' I meant- you'd never understand. Let's just say whenever I travel, something different happens to me. This time it was about the Dragonfire." Akarui explained "Now let's get back to the stadium." Akarui stated, still awaiting Zero.

[~Duo~]

Zetaru looked around nervously, hoping that Akarui was okay, then suddenly, his head ached as if it were on fire. "Augh!" He yelled, with both hands on his head. He was able to keep his composure from the previous attacks of pain, but this one exceeded them all. Usually... when this happens, a vision comes with the pain! Why isn't it happening now? Down on his knees, he managed to remove his hands from his head, but the pain was torture, now facing it fully conscious. He abruptly fell, but his Duel Disk broke his fall, and being very strong, it received no scratches or visible damage at all. As soon as that happened, a card shot out of his Extra Deck and the pain instantly receded. Zetaru was astounded. He took the card and inspected it. "'Supreme Hero - Omega, Zero Incarnate'...? This wasn't in my deck before!" Then he thought back. Maybe this has something to do with me regaining my memory? I'd better keep it just to be sure. Reassured, he placed it back in his Extra Deck, but still... he thought he felt an evil aura from the card.

[Spirit of DMG]

Damen watched as a young girl walked out of the area he had dueled in. He smiled and followed her to her seat. After she'd sat down, he leaned against the edge of the boat. "Hey," he stated, not even looking at her, though with a friendly smile on his face. "So, you were called to Area Three? Madame Clive sure does have a powerful deck, huh? That Scrubbed Raid/Relinquished combo sure did a number on my Blue-Eyes combos. And that Relinquished stopped me from calling out my Armed Dragon 5. So, what did she get you with?"

[Guest Dementuo]

"So you're the Fourth Guardian, eh? Well, alright, lets go back. I can tell that you're not going to tell me anything else." Zero said. "In the meantime, do you think you could send me back, once I find my brother? Back to my Timeline, I mean?" Zero Asked. As Zero approached the door, he felt a disturbance. "Hm?" Zero thought. "What was that? It felt like some sort of evil presence, but what?" Zero continued to think. "Hey, Akarui, did you feel that?" Zero asked, as he was approaching the door.

[The ReBeL]

Brain drew his 6th card.

"All right I will start by summoning Mystic Tomato in attack mode. Then I place 2 facedowns. I activate the field spell Mystic Plasma Zone and end my turn!" Brian felt pleased with that move and he had a smile on his face. He glanced at the other duels in progress." I hope I'm doing as good as the others." He thought to himself. He new he would have to be careful.

"Yeah. Don't worry about it." Akarui stated as he and Zero left the infirmary. Meanwhile back at the stadium, the Chancellor prepared for his next announcement. The Chancellor held up his Microphone "Could Kenshin Kamiya please move up to area three. Could Rick Laguna please move up to area one." Chancellor Yami asked into the microphone. When Zero and Akarui made it to the doors of the stadium, Akarui kept on going, but not before telling Zero to go in the stadium.

[Guest Dementuo]

"Alright. I'll be in soon, I've got something to take care of." Zero replied. Zero walked up to the edge of the boat, and looked up at the now sunset sky. *Sigh* "What am I doing here? How did I get here? Why is it that I'm supposed to be going to the Academy? And where's Kutafis? What happened to Him? Did he get sucked into the past as well? Was I brought here because of Akarui? Or was it the Dragonfire? Man, there are so many things that I don't understand about all of this." Zero was talking to himself, trying to figure something out. "Well, I won't find out just standing here, so I guess my best bet is to go the Academy Island. Maybe there I'll find out something about all of this, and maybe, I'll also find my brother."

[evilfusion]

"Kenshin Kamiya," Madame Clive repeated to herself. She always liked to familiarize herself with her opponent's name before the examination. It saved time in introductions. She folded her hands behind her back and waited in a formal stance for him to arrive. Thus far the examinations seemed to be going well, with all the students she tested proving to be interesting students who needed to learn a few things, but had potential. And that mattered the most with duelists. Potential was one of the most important aspects of dorm qualification.

"Alright then, it's my turn." Lance said as he drew his sixth card. "First I'm summoning my Koa'ki Meiru Hydro Barrier and then I'm activating its effect. By sending an Iron Core in my hand back onto the top of my deck, your Mystic Tomato's effect is unusable until my next standby phase, but of course your Mystic Tomato's effect activates when it's destroyed by a monster so that won't work. Now I'll play Double Summon to sacrafice my Hydro Barrier to summon Koa'ki Meiru Ghoulungulate [ATK:2500]. Then I'll activate Iron Core Armor and equip it to my Ghoulungulate. Now attack Ghoulungulate!"

"I ativate one of my facedowns. Scrap Iron Scarecrow." Brian was excited. He thought he made the right move in summoning him. " I then ativate my other facedown. Ultimate Offerings. It's still your move and you won't stop what's about to come next. You won't be ready at all. HAHAHA!" Brian was already over confident the way he was when he dueled his friends. He loved when he thought he had the advantage.

"Sorry, I activate my Ghoulungulate's special effect. By removing my Hydro Barrier from play, your Ultimate Offering is destroyed. Although, now I won't be able to attack. No problem, the duel has just begun." Lance stated calmly. "Alright, you had a very good first turn actually. I'm was hoping to do some damage but I guess I'll have to wait. Good job Brian." Lance stated with a thumbs up. "I'll end my turn. I'll also reveal another Ghoulungulate in my hand to keep this Ghoulungulate on the field."

After hearing the announcements, Rick headed towards area 1 and prepared his duel disk and deck. "Alright! I'm here!"

Akarui was in a strange room. He opened a small case that was in there "For some reason I put this here...." Akarui stated as he took a few cards out of it and placed them in his deck. He walked to a nearby elevator. He pressed a button and it rose up. Meanwhile at the stadium the shaft across from Rick opened up and the elevator rose with Akarui on it.

 

Chancellor held up the microphone "Mr. Yami has returned!" Chancellor Yami declared into the microphone. The students who were on their second and third year who went to see the new students' exams cheered for Akarui.

 

Akarui activated his Duel Disk and drew five cards "You can take the first move Rick!" Akarui stated.

[The ReBeL]

"Ok well then. I draw. I summon Giant Germ.This germ will infect you if you get to close lance. I advice you to stay away from my life points while that's on the field. I then set 2 more face downs. I then will end my turn. I hope you can counter. I want this duel to be played out as hard as possible. Play your toughest. I don't want a single fluke." He was happy. He was sure he would win and be looked at as a great duelist.

Zero walked into the stadium. "Huh, so Akarui's already dueling again. He sure is tough." Zero thought. "I wonder why he seems so calm now? And he looks a little different. Like, he has something new." Zero continued in his head. "Well, whatever it is, I can't wait to see it." Zero said aloud, though no one heard him, or even noticed he had returned. "Alright then, Might as well take a break. My head's starting to hurt from all these unanswered questions. Besides, I won't have to worry about those questions until we get to the Island."

[The ReBeL]

Brian was confused. Why was Lance looking calm."I forgot. he's suppose to be the one grading me. Why would he ever let me win?" Brians condor spirit just noded and watched. She was having a ball seeing other spirits and dueling going on. No shadow duels. Brian wanted Lance to attack his Tomato he just wanted him to. He wanted to bring out Goblin King."Ha Lance. While you make your move just remember, cards like D. Prison and Bottomless won't work vs. Me. I am going to show you how great my skills are. I will show the people how first years do it."He shouted so everyone could here. He wanted people to watch his duel. He was going to win, he was sure.

"For the future, please at least call me Mr. Lance instead of just Lance. (So he wants me to go all out huh? Well, I really can't do that considering I have my own agenda....)" Lance drew his card. "Well, I really can't do anything right now at the moment, so I will end my turn. I'll also reveal my Ghoulungulate in my hand to keep the other one on the field." Lance said with a smile. "Doing great Brian, keep it up."

 

-Meanwhile-

 

"Alright! Then I'll go first!" Rick said as he drew his sixth card. "Alright, I'll kick off this duel by summoning my Dragunity Militum [ATK:1700] and then I'll activate my spell Dragunity's Swift Weapon to equip my Dragunity Vashir to my Militum! Then I'll end my turn! Your turn Teach'."

"Oh hello there." Felicity responded. "Yeah, Madame Clive sure was a tough opponent to beat.... I lost to her because of my clumsiness combined with her Sonic Bird and Kycoo. Not the best way to lose a duel.... But anyways, that was a learning experience for me and I rather enjoyed it. By the way, I'm Felicity, Felicity Rune. Nice to meet you." Felicity said with a friendly smile.

Since hydro barriers effect was gone Brian felt more confident. "I draw. I then tribute my Mystic Tomato to summon Caius the Shadow Monarch. By his effect your monster is removed. I then use my Giant Germ to strike first and then my Caius." "I will not end just yet. I play allure of darkness. I then remove my Level Eater. Your move."

The people were so close-knit here, Amane marveled. Ordinarily, Tsubasa would do something that would attract the fearful attention of everyone around her. For once, though, the duo was being completely ignored. It was a very nice change, Amane decided.

 

"Everyone's sticking to their groups," she observed. Tsubasa had absolutely no understanding of social organization, even after three years of normal life, and would probably need this pointed out to her. "I guess everyone already has close friends here."

 

"That's nice," Tsubasa said blandly. Amane had no idea how to react; she didn't sound empathetic at all, and in fact seemed a bit dangerous.

[Dementuo]

"Uhh... Ungh..." Zero fell unconscious in the chair he was sitting in.

 

*Another Flashback*

 

"Nrgh... Wha... What?" Zero thought. "I'm in the Hall again?" Zero got up and looked around. "Hm?" Zero turned towards another portrait hanging up on the wall. "So it's true." Zero said to himself. The portrait read:

"So if he's here, then that means that the Fifth Guardian's Picture has to be here as well." Zero thought. Zero looked around the Hall, then he found what he was looking for. There was a fifth portrait, besides the ones of Zero himself, his brother, Akarui, and, as it turns out, one of Akira, which now hung where the previous one of Mahadrah Tanaka was. That fifth portrait read:

Age 19

Guardian Mark: Wing

 

"The last one, huh? Zwei... Interesting. Maybe I'll find him at the Island." Zero thought "Ngh... Nrgh... Ahh..."

 

*End of Flashback*

 

Zero woke up and, surprisingly, no time had passed. "What was that all about?" Zero thought. "That didn't seem real, but it didn't feel like just a dream either. Maybe it's a part of my past, a part that I don't remember... But why now?" Zero continued thinking about this until a few moments later, where he decided not to worry about it until he got to the Academy Island.

[~Duo~]

Once more, Zetaru's stomach growled. "Man, am I hungry! I'd better go find something to eat!" He walked around aimlessly, then finally remembered there was a Cafeteria. How foolish of me... Zetaru thought to himself, smiling. As he remembered, he sauntered over there, taking his time. Once he arrived, he merely got another loaf of bread, but formidably large, and a mug of coffee. He finished the bread in a matter of seconds then took a sip of coffee. As soon as the mug touched his lips, he dropped it (but did not break it) and gasped as his vision blurred once more.

 

A glowing neon green sword blotted out his sight. It just nearly pierced his forehead. The downed man looked up at the sword with confidence.

 

"Kill me if you wish, but you will get no benefit from it!!

 

A purple aura surrounded the downed man and he grabbed the sword, feeling no pain and no pain was there. He squeezed and it shattered in his grip. Another sword materialized in front of him and he took it. It appeared the same way as the sword he had just shattered, but the only difference was that it was crimson violet. He thrusted his arm forward and...

 

"Agh!" Panting, Zetaru picked up his mug and hastily wiped his spill, finishing the rest of the coffee inside and leaning backwards. Eyes concerned, he thought four words.

 

What did that mean?

[The White Wolf]

Akarui drew his card "I'll start with Mystical Space Typhoon! Your Equip Spell is destroyed!" Akarui declared "And now I'll play Metal Warrior - Tuner! Now I discard this card from my hand and Special Summon Moon Metal Warrior from my dec!" Akarui explained [ATK: 0] "Now I activate his effect! I pay 1000 life points to increase his level by two!" Akarui declared [LV5 -> LV7] "Now I tune my Metal Warrior - Tuner to my Moon Metal Warrior! I Synchro Summon! Rekeph, the Metal Dragon of the Moon!" Akarui declared [ATK: 3500 -> 3700] "Now! Rekeph! Wipe out that Dragonunity with Moonlight Blast!" Akarui declared.

"Hmph. So THAT'S his dragon, huh? Interesting... Well, Let's see what that thing can do." Zero thought. Both Zero's Mark and Akarui's Mark were glowing now, or at least as far as Zero could tell. He assumed that Akira's mark would be glowing too, as he was also a Guardian. "Things just get more and more interesting every second... Wonder what that Kid'll do to counter a monster of that kind of power. This should be fun to watch." Zero laid back on his chair. He was interested to see where this duel would go.

"Sorry Teach' but I'm activating my Dragunity Vashir's special effect. You see, when my Vashir is destroyed while it is equipped to a Dragunity monster I control. During the battle between my Dragunity monster who Vashir was equipped to and your monster, I can increase my Dragunity's ATK by the same amount of ATK from one monster on the field except for itself, so I choose your Rekeph, now my monster's ATK is increased by 3700 until the end of the turn. Now my monster has 5400 ATK and your monster gets destroyed plus you take a nice helping of 1700 points of damage!" Rick explained.

[Spirit of DMG]

"Felicity." Damen said, tasting the name, "Fe-li-ci-ty." He smiled, an effortless, inviting smile. "That's a very cute name. It suits you. My name's Damen. Damen Auguste Esposito." He leaned his head back, letting the light of the sun hit his face. "Don't worry too much about losing to her. Even with the power of the White Dragon, I couldn't stop her. She picked my offense apart, and didn't even give me the chance to set up a defense. Not that the Blue-Eyes Archetype has much defense." He let out a laugh. A sound warm and inviting.
