Lance's eyes widened a little bit as he showed a pleasant surprise. "Hmm, that was a quick win Brian." Lance stated as he deactivated his duel disk. "I see you don't like to play around much and just skip straight to winning eh? Very good Brian. (One more added to my archive....)" Lance wrote his results and recommendations on his test paper. "Alright, you're done here. Good luck in the wriiten exam Brian." Lance said with a friendly smile.

-Meanwhile-

"Alright then! My turn!" Rick drew a card from his deck and looked at it closely. "First up I'm activating the continuous spell Dragon Control Technique! This card allows me to treat one Dragunity monster in my hand as an equip spell card and equip it to one of my Dragunity monsters on the field, and I'm gonna equip Dragunity Gaspart to my Militum. That's not all yet, now I'm gonna special summon Dragunity Arms Laevatein by tributing my Militum which also sends my Gaspart to the grave. Since I special summon Laevatein, I can equip a Druginity monster from my graveyard to it, so I choose my Gaspart to equip to my Laevatein. Also, since my spell is still in play my Laevatein gains 500 ATK making its ATK strength 3100. Now attack him directly Laevatein!"

The dragon and any others (I got confused XD) got destroyed "Mirror Force." Akarui stated with a smirk as the attack got deflected back to the dragon, destroying it. "Now, what is your next move Rick?" Akarui asked with a...... strangely wide...... creepy smirk "(Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.)" Akarui thought, his smirk growing wider........ and creepier. "Hmhmhmhmhmhmhm." Akarui stated, his smirk STILL growing wider and creepier.

Brian was jumping up and down."Thank you." He said to his deck. All of a sudden his duel spirit morphed. "Caius?" "Yes it's me I am your new spirit. You see depending on your deck and how you duel depends on your spirit." Brian was happy. He still would make his EBI deck for the condor. She was there for him. For the longest time he though he would lose. "I thought I would lose, but these guys are easy!" He said aloud. "Great duel though Lance." He had Caius and his fiend deck. He was back to how he used to duel. Taking noobs decks duel after duel. "Ha ha. My time here is going exceptional well." He walked to see some other duels. His light blue and black earthbound duel disk still on and his deck ready.

"I don't think so Teach'! My Gaspart's special effect activates, since it is equipped to a Dragunity dragon-type monster, all traps are negated and destroyed! So my Laevatein is still heading in strong!!!!" Laevatein sped up even faster and aimed its lance towards Akarui, looking to take him out with its whopping 3100 ATK strength.

-Meanwhile-

"No problem Brian. Be sure to keep improving on your deck and I'm sure you'll become an exceptional duelist. You can probably go pro pretty soon. Anyways, it was a good duel, hope to see you in my class later on." Lance said happily.

"Exceptional duelist."Brian thought to himself."What was I before? Nevermind him, lets see if some of these cute girls saw me duel." He said to himself. Caius was walking around. He wondered if anyone saw him. He was levitating. Brian didn't care if his spirits wondered off. He knew that spirits were loyal and so he didn't want them closed up because he needed then next to him. He wondered when would the written exam begin. He loved to right and he knew he could not fail.

"Fine then, Metal Shield 3." Akarui stated as a shield appeared and took the attack. Akarui smirked "Tsk tsk tsk." Akarui stated [DEF: 2000] "Nice try Rick. But my Metal Shield 3 negates an attack while I control no monsters." Akarui explained "And I can return it to my hand and add a new card from my deck to my hand that includes metal in its card name." Akarui explained "I add Metal Reborn." Akarui stated.

A gentle hand touched Kenshin's shoulder. "You're not, you took a wrong turn and went to the medical bay, I believe." Madame Clive was standing to the side of Kenshin, having come personally down to the medical area to ensure the unconscious student had been taken care of.

"I just contacted Chancellor Yami to inform him of the situation and I'm convinced everything will be fine. As for you, Kenshin, you're in luck. I normally downgrade late applicants by default, but the circumstances warranted a delay, so I will not do so this time. I am your examination opponent, Madame Harriet Clive. If you come this way, we will have our duel."

With that, she turned, gesturing with a hand and walking back to her examination area.

"It's not my fault." Kenshin protested, "Soon as I got this thing," He raised his Duel Disk, "I couldn't resist myself. I had to take it apart and modify it. The GPS is fairly hit and miss right now, but I've networked it to my cell phone and added a digital clock, so I figure that's not bad for an hour's work." He stopped, "Wait, you're not gonna expel me for tampering with school equipment before I'm even enrolled, are you?" He asked, taking his place in the examination arena, "So, does the 'ladies first' rule apply?" He asked, deploying his Duel Disk, which, instead of having the card zones next to the blade, as the factory model did, instead rotated outwards 180 degrees, so that it was jutting out lengthwise, like a saber. "Oh, right and I did that too. Don't worry, it's a completely reversible mod. The Life Point counter's pretty much set in stone though."

"The school doesn't issue Duel Disks unless a student doesn't have one. So long as your modifications do not provide you some sort of advantage over another in a duel, or prove to be dangerous in any way, there is no grounds for punishment," Madame Clive responded.

She took her place on the other end of the examination area, and activated her own duel disk. With one hand, she flicked her shoulder-length blonde hair out of the way of her face and smiled. "As my obligatory introduction to my applicants, I expect you to play at your best and will expect all of your work, both in and out of dueling arenas, to be top-notch. I have been labeled as strict, but you'll thank me for it later."

When her deck completed shuffling, she flicked five cards from her deck and smiled. "There is no 'ladies first' rule, per se, but I'll utilize it nonetheless."

With that, she drew a sixth card and flicked through her hand idly. "I set one monster in defense position, and one card facedown," she said, smiling. Not a bad start. More defensive than normal, but I expect it to be effective.

"Turn End."

*2 hours later*

"hmm...Zero hasn't come back yet, and I'm getting really nervous. He said something about being 'summoned' here...I guess I have a task to do here or something..." Akira started pacing around and eventually took out his deck. "Oh, now that I think about it, I haven't seen Zero duel yet... Maybe I should try it...no, that would be...well, I did enroll at Duel Academy - well, not for a good reason, but..." Akira thought and tried to decide whether he wanted to duel Zero or not - Lance had triggered a "burning spirit" in him to duel.

Zero arrived back. "Hey, sorry I'm late. I got lost on the way here. It's different then how I remember it, but I guess that's just a disadvantage from being nearly 2 years in the past. Well, I've figured out why you're here. Apparently, you're supposed to go see Regulas. He lives in a forest to the East of here. I'll take you there later. By the way, Did the girl with green hair come by here?" Zero asked. "No? Ok then. You look like you have something to ask me. I'm sure you have plenty of questions, and I'd be happy to answer them." Zero said.

"Oh, that's ok. Also, no girl came by here. Anyways, did you find out the 'task' I'm supposed accomplish before returning to my body" Akira thought about how he left his body "behind" and started shivering at the thought. "Also, from before, right before I came here, more monsters in my deck materialized as spirits as well. Why is that? Also, how can I train myself to come here and back completely, and not leave my body in a different world?" Akira felt he was being too nosy "I'm sorry that I'm ranting so much", he apologized and sat back down.

"That's Fine. So, You're here to go see Regulas, who lives in a forest to the East of here. I can take you to see him now, if you want, or we can wait. It's your choice. Oh, and about your body, once you go see Regulas, then you should be able to travel between our world and this world, though I wouldn't recommend that just yet, as you're still fairly new to this whole Spirit World thing." Zero explained. "And I don't think that you're ranting at all. It's ok if you have questions. I know that I would."

Ever since Damen had told Madame Clive about the student fainting, Damen had been laying on the deck, looking at the blue sky, running what happened with Madame Clive. He was normally calm in all situations, like with when he checked if the student was okay. "So why'd I lose it like that with her? Is it that she's a teacher? That she beat me? What happened?" He didn't realize that that part was spoken out loud, audible enough that it could be heard by Felicity, who happened to be sitting only a few feet from where he'd chosen to examine the sky.

"Sure, I guess we can see him now - I mean, what else is there to do here? Do you have your deck - wait, never mind about that. So, is Regulus the one in charge of this world, and was he the one who summoned me here? Also, what of Ancient Fairy Dragon, the one you said was the guardian of this world - is she a spirit too?". Akira had no idea what was going on. However, he wanted to learn as much as he could about this world, and how to access it...

"Regulas, you could say, is the Guardian of the Guardian, so to speak. He protects and serves the Ancient Fairy Dragon, and yes, she is a spirit too. She's also the one you that summoned you here. She tends to do that with all of the people who can access the Spirit World. So, I'll take you to Regulas now, though don't expect him to show himself, as he doesn't know you very well. I guess that you could say, there's, an order of things when it comes to a person's first time in the Spirit World. Oh, and my Deck? I can probably get one from Regulas, so, Let's go." Zero explained. They then started off to the Eastern Forest.

Eventually, after hours of walking, Akira and Zero reached the Eastern Forest. "So, how are you in terms of relationship with Regulus? Also, what was the first time you came here like? I mean, were you surprised to be suddenly transported here?"Akira asked, hoping for some details about the Spirit World. "What about your Lunar Dragon? How did you acquire it? Also, how long have you been dueling for? I'm kind of new; I started about half a year ago."

"What? I know Regulas pretty well, and you could say that I was like you my first time, though my brother had already explained a rather large portion of it to me already, and I actually wasn't suddenly transported here, my brother brought me here. And about my Lunar Dragon, I acquired it from my parents, who left My Brother and I our Lunar Dragon Cards." Zero Explained. "And I've been Dueling all my life. What can I say, I come from a family of Duelists. Y'know, How did You get your Lunar Dragon Card?" Zero Asked.

"I draw and activate Nobleman of Extermination." A hulking knight in purple armor carrying a broadsword appeared on the field and stabbed through Madame Clive's face-down card. "Now, I'll Normal Summon The Six Samurai - Irou." A futuristic samurai with purple armor and a purple visor over his eyes appeared in front of Kenshin, "Now, I'll activate my Grandmaster of the Six Samurai's effect, Special Summoning him." Another futuristic samurai appeared, to which Irou immediately bowed respectfully. "You see, my Grandmaster isn't one to let his men go into a fight alone, preferring to share the glory of victory or the shame of defeat with his men, or man, as the case may be." He nodded to Irou, who drew his onyx longsword, "Now, Irou here is the fastest member of The Six Samurai, so fast that he can destroy your face-down Monster before you can even flip him." Irou's hologram flickered briefly and Clive's face-down abruptly shattered. "Now, oh honorable Grandmaster, would you be so kind as to attack the instructor directly?" The aged Samurai nodded and sliced at the instructor. "I'll set two cards and end my turn. Thank you, Irou, Grandmaster."

"My brother gave it to me when I was 5 - I guess it was the one nice thing he actually did for me - *chuckles*. Anyways, I wish I had some kind of warning - that was quite unexpected. Anyways, would you consider - *looks down* - ever consider dueling me?" Akira's voice became quieter and quieter, apparently too embarrassed by the idea of asking the question. "I just want to see how much better everyone else is than me" he said meekly.

"I will activate my facedown card. Scrubbed Raid! Extermination will only destroy a facedown card, so this continuous Trap will survive," the instructor said, smiling. The smile did fade a moment as she saw Kenshin's next move, but she maintained her composure.

"I activate the effect of Scrubbed Raid, to send one card on my field to the graveyard to end the Battle Phase. I send my facedown monster!" she declared, the two warriors backing off.

"The facedown monster was Sangan, and when it's sent to my Graveyard, I can add one monster from my deck with 1500 ATK or less, and I choose my Relinquished," she said, displaying the Ritual monster before adding it to her hand.

"Impressive starting move," she noted, nodding to Kenshin. "My turn!" she announced, glancing at the card. "I activate the Black Illusion Ritual!"

Upon her field, the eerie Ritual jar appeared, awaiting the sacrifice.

"Duel You? Well, after We meet with Regulas, I can get my Deck back, but right now, I don't have it- Here we are." Zero pulled out a card from his pocket. The name Read: "Regulas" "Good to see you again, eh, Regulas? Well, I brought a friend with me this time. He's the Third Guardian, bearing the Mark of the Head. I also found out who the Fourth Guardian is, and now I need to take my friend to the Hall, so if you would please... Ok, Thanks." Zero placed the card back in his pocket, and with a flash of light, Zero and Akira were now in a Silver Colored, Circular Room, containing 5 Portraits. "Welcome to the Hall of the Dragonfire, Where the records of the 5 Guardians are Recorded. If you look over there- *Zero pointed to one of the Portraits* -Then you'll see mine, then to the right, My Brother, next to him, Akarui, Yes, he is the Fourth Guardian, and to the right of him, is You." Zero explained. "The fifth Portrait is of someone who I don't know, His name is Zwei, and his Dragon is the Moon Wing Kaiser Dragon." Zero walked up to his own portrait, and placed his Lunar Dragon Card in an indentation in the wall, and with another flash of light, Zero's Deck appeared, along with his Duel Disk. "My brother was here recently, You see, whenever someone enters this Realm, their Portrait will shimmer for a while, look." Zero pointed towards his brother's Portrait. It had a slight sparkle to it. "My brother's Dragon is named "Crystalline Dragon", and that's about it." Zero finished. "Any more questions, cause I'm sure that you have quite a few."

"Actually, surprisingly, I seem to understand what you're talking about. Also, Crystalline Dragon...I seem to have heard that name before... Anyways, what exactly do we protect the Dragonfire from? Is there something that's targeting it for any reason?" Akira suddenly started to panic at the thought of evil...but he got over it quickly after thinking about his new duty to protect the Dragonfire. "Anyways, how is Akarui's dragon connected to that evil Rekeph card he has?"

"I don't understand very much about Akarui myself, but about the Dragonfire, and what we're protecting it from, I don't know either, actually. My brother would know more about it than I would, as he's been a Guardian for almost my entire life. I've only been a Guardian for about 3 years. And you say that you've heard of my Brother's Crystalline Dragon before? Well, I would really like to know just where you heard that name, and I'm glad that you're starting to understand this now. The more you know, the easier my job of guiding you is. Now, you said something about a Duel? Well, now that I've got my Deck back, We can return to the Real world, after we have that Duel. What say you?"

"Sure! But please keep this a secret from all the other entrants - I don't want anyone knowing about how badly I did against you, but let's do it..."

Akira activated his duel disk: The computerized voice spoke: Opponent unknown; duel start...

Akira looked nervously at Zero as he drew his hand.

"G-Good Luck..."
