X-Mas in July!?!

[align=center]No the title is not deceiving. This is actually a set based on Christmass.

It was originally made for a X-Mass contest, but it was cancelled (I think).

Anyways the X-Mas monsters are based on giving "gifts" to your opponent. This can either be cards, LP or sometimes even monsters/Tokens. But there are some currupted monsters that benefit from the "gifts". I think that both can work excelently with Simuchi Burn and Hand Mill Decks.

 

And now here are the X-mas monsters.

When this card is destroyed by battle, both players can Special Summon any number of "Baubird Shard Tokens" (Winged Beast-Type/WATER/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) to their side of the field. "Baubird Shard Tokens" cannot attack, be used for a Synchro Summon, or be Tributed the turn that they are Special Summoned.

This card be Tribute Summoned by Tributing 1 "X-mas" monster. Each time your opponent's Life Points are increased by a card effect, increase this card's ATK by the same amount.

This card be Tribute Summoned by Tributing 1 "X-mas" monster. Each time your opponent draws a card(s) by a card effect, remove it from play and increase this cards ATK and DEF by 600.

When this card is Normal Summoned, place 1 Gift Counter on this card (Max. 1). You can remove 1 Gift counter to activate 1 of the following effects: - Special Summon 1 "Gift Token" (Fairy-Type/LIGHT/Level 4/ATK 1900/DEF 900). A "Gift Token cannot be used for Synchro Summons or be Tributed for a Tribute Summon. - Both players gain 2000 Life Points. - Both players draw 2 cards.

If you control a "X-mas" monster, this card can be Normal Summoned without a Tribute. This card gains ATK equal to the number of cards in your opponent's hand x 100. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, all "X-mas" monster are uneffected by the effects of your opponent's Monster, Spell or Trap Cards.

Once per turn, you can equip this card to a face-up "X-mas" monster you control, OR unequip it and Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position. When equipped to a monster by this card's effect, that equipped monster gains 400 ATK and DEF. As long as the equipped monster remains on the field, if your opponent discards a card from his/her hand, send the top card of his/her Deck to the Graveyard. A monster can only be equipped with 1 Union monster at a time. If the equipped monster would be destroyed, destroy this card instead.)

Once per turn, you can activate 1 of the following effects: - If your opponent has 5 or more cards in their hand, this card can Attack your opponent's Life Points directly this Battle Phase. - If your opponent has more then 8000 Life Points, treat this card's ATK as 2000 until your opponent's End Phase.

X-Mas Engulper is a great pic, actually, but that, my friend, is the Elder God Cthulhu, and I would assume that qualifies as Pop Culture if Skellington does.

 

In any case, these cards are great - and I've actually run a deck similar to this that forces your opponent to draw cards, the object being to draw more cards w/ Appropriate and deck your opponent out or else beat them down with Chainsaw Insect. These cards would be great in that deck.

Creative, the X-mas edition thing is clever, OCG is very good, as far as I can tell. Pictures are exceptionally good, considering how hard it is to find good holiday themed pictures good for Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards. 9/10.

I like them. It's an alternative to the "Simochi" Decks, but this time using Monster Effects compared to the Spell and Trap-based "Simochi".

I really like the Idea of the X-Mas cards but they might not fit in this catagory.
