I meant it for all monsters on the field even your opponents

and yes battle damage is still applied

Allow me to explain why:

 

This card doesn't have an effect that keeps itself on the field. That alone makes it dysfunctional. But, moving on, under the assumption that it does have that effect, it still only does the same work of Mist Body. And you can get around Mist Body. Not being destroyed doesn't do too much. They could pop your card, or pop your monster, and attack anyway. Or worse, use it to fuel GB rage at your LP. And that would just be sad.
