Gravekeeper's Synchro

It's my 150th post! so in celebration of that, i present to you my gravekeeper's synchro monster i worked on for a contest. gravekeepers are one of my favorite anti-meta archtypes. it isnt tier 1 stuff but with a few new cards or support, it can get up there. Since some tuner are freq into gk decks, i though a synchro would be a good option. let me kno what you guys think!

[spoiler=Gravekeeper's Crypt Lord]anubiscomplete3.png

LORE: 1 Tuner + 1 or more "Gravekeeper's" non-Tuner monsters

When this card is Synchro Summoned, your opponent randomly discards cards from their hand, up to the number of non-Tuner monsters used as Synchro Material Monsters for this card. While this card is face-up on the field, the effects of Spell, Trap, and Effect Monster Cards that activate in the Graveyard are negated. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, remove from play all monsters in both players hands and Graveyards, except "Gravekeeper's" monsters.

it's suppose to complement necrovalley, sorta like how the end of anubis complements it. necrovalley stops graveyard targeting and this stops effects that activate in the graveyard like necrogardna, sangan, or rat.

hm, mayb i should make the destroy effect hand only? but the idea behind the card in general is graveyard lockdown

nice card, but a bit over powered if you ask me

Incomplete argument, but a valid point.

make it lv 10 or 12

Incomplete argument...and horrid point.

I'll show you why in a moment.

Lets start off with the card's structure. It's a LV9 2800 beater, which is pretty decent. Its tough to run over, but not impossible. Next off, its effects.

Effect #1: Min. 2 discard because of its level structure. It's easy to set up with Spy, and its not that hard to tutor a level 2 Tuner like Plaguespreader for this monster. That said, its a -2 to your opponent's hand guaranteed, which is kinda iffy. It seems a little powerful if you ask me.

Effect #2: Walking Necrovalley, which is basically a slap in the face since now they have to get rid of the beater OR MST the field spell. However, the good thing about THIS card's effect is that just because it is similar to it, doesn't mean it's exactly like it! It forces Treeborn to stay in the Graveyard, and such, but it doesn't stop cards from affecting the Graveyard, like Pot of Avarice and Monster Reborn. Overlapping both effects could produce one of the most potentially devastating Graveyard lock that can null most decks. So the effect compliments the deck...but it seems to walk a wire in Opedness.

Effect #3: The one effect that does make this card OPed...and doesn't even make sense with the archtype! Even the field Spell tries to oppress banishment, but this guy banishes everything when it leaves the field! It can lead to potential Macro abuse/Macro OTK...with Gravekeeper! They do field removal, swarm, and this card with its last effect give it new aspects with Macro play, which is something of a big step over the powerline. To be honest...this effect is just not needed. The first 2 effect make the card pretty decent, and the third is just making it jump over the borderline.

As for the quotes, I think I've stated my answer.

you can not sychro summon summon card unless you control a nercovalley if nercovalley leaves the field destory this card

maybe this to help balanced it out ? since nercovalley will be out anyways it completes the grave lock down but also comes at the risk of a higher summoning cost and destruction

maybe not ......
