Yu-Gi-Oh! Epic: In the Embrace of Katastrophe

This RP takes place in the real worlds universe, but with a twist of Duel Monsters baked into it.

 

During the aftermath of WWII, a group of scientists started a project known as Duel Monsters. Using a machine that connected this world with another one they successfully sealed the forces of the other world into metallic cards, later known as Duel Monsters. By using a device known as a Duel Disk, the user could summon these forces using the metallic cards. This quickly became a renowned game, but it was canceled because of the danger, and it is now used in wars and in illegal underground competitions.

The year is 2012. Lately, numerous natural disasters has occured around the world. Some claim that the Duel Monsters project is the reason for this and that it disturbed the balance between the two worlds. However, just lately four people revealed themselves as the "Harbringers of Katastrophe", and that they were the cause of the disasters, using four 'Katastrophe' cards to cause the mass murders.

 

Now, both the military and a group of courageus Underground Duelists has decided to stop the Harbringers. Will you join the Harbringers or the Resistance?

The Harbringers are four mysterious individuals that showed up one day and announced the end of the world, by their hands. They all possess one of the four Katastrophe cards; Shaka-Geb (Earthquake), Tyfon (Storms), Ginami (Tsunamis) and Magmoorah (Volcano Eruptions).

The four Katastrophe cards are incredibly powerfull cards that can cause their coresponding natural disaster if used right. They are all Leve 10 Effect monsters, and their effects should be somehow related to their attributes (which is WATER, EARTH, WIND and FIRE, it should be easy to understand who has which attribute).

Biography: Not much is known about Konami's past, but he's said to have been married at a time, but lost his entire family at December 26, 2006.

Personality: Konami rarely speaks, and when he does he does so in a cold and grim manner. He may also be considered insane, but that's up to you to judge.

Biography: Born under the name "Lux", Akio quickly changed his name after he was caught stealing a Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys card. The authorites still got to him. A few cops told him that if he helped in this fight and joined the resistance, he would not only be free but have a spot in the police force.

Personality: Akio is what you would expect from a criminal. He constantly gambles (his deck even emphasizes it) and he is an ex-kleptomaniac. He used to love the rush he got from stealing, but now he gets that same rush from risking his life, so stealing is no longer a neccessity for him.
