Modified Water Deck

Recommended Posts

I took some advice from my previous post and slightly modified my deck.

It's A Legendary Ocean themed deck. Not good compared to some other WATER decks, but it works.

Monsters (22)

Abyss Soldier x2

Blizzard Dragon x2 (May remove, not sure)

Codarus x2

Levia Dragon Daedalus x3

Mobius the Frost Monarch x2

Mother Grizzly x3

Nightmare Penguin x2

Unshaven Angler x2

Warrior of Atlantis x3

Ocean Dragon Lord - Neo Daedalus

Spells (10)

A Legendary Ocean x3

Moray of Greed x2 (Might add 1 more)

Mystical Space Typhoon

Salvage

Swords of Revealing Light

Terraforming

Water Hazard

Traps (8)

Call of the Haunted

Dark Bribe x2

Divine Wrath (Might remove)

Forgotten Temple of the Deep x2 (Thinking about adding another...not sure)

Mirror Force

Solemn Judgment

If there's anyway I can improve on this deck, please tell me.

Constructive criticism is appreciated.

Alright, this isn't that bad. From some of the Decks I've seen around here, I expected worse.

The things you want to remove, roughly in order of most removable to least, are probably these:

Unshaven Angler

Terraforming (You have 3 Warrior of Atlantis, that's plenty)

Divine Wrath

Dark Bribe

Mobius

Nightmare Penguin

I'd aim to add:

Some Deep Sea Diva cards. You can add a Spined Guillman or two to go with them, but they work on there own by just summoning each other.

A third Codarus. That +1 effect is sweet

A third Forgotten Temple. The effect is alright, but most importantly it works with Codarus.

A third Morray

Maybe a Sangan. It's not WATER, but it searcher Codarus and Divas and adds a bit to the monster line-up.

Some Spiritual Water Art - Aoi are always nice if you have space left over.

I rather keep Unshaven Angler so I can bring out Levia Dragon Daedalus when The Legendary Ocean isn't present on the field. Plus it works well with Mother Grizzly. However having Deep Sea Diva and Spined Guillman in my deck would be beneficial.

Teraforming and Divine Wrath I can easily part with for probably a third Morray of Greed and a Forgotten Temple of the Deep

I rather not take out Dark Bribe though. It's useful to have, especially when someone has a face down Solemn Judgment or Divine Wrath in waiting to screw my whole strategy over.

Mobius I can part with, for Sangan and a third Codarus.

Nightmare Penguin I'm still pondering on. It's effect is pretty decent, but there are better WATER monsters >_<

I usually never have space left over in most decks I made, so Spiritual Water Art - Aoi is out of the question, but thanks for the suggestion.

One thing though, if I do add a couple Deep Sea Divas into my deck, should I add a WATER Synchro monster of any kind?

Thanks for the recommendation, but I rather stick to a full WATER themed deck, or close to it. I'm not really a big fan of the frogs either, but thanks again.

Believe I've been making these DEck for almost 3 Years now...I have tried MANY ways of playing (OTK way, with LSs, with D-heros, Oppresion Style) and I don't like frogs neither....But this time I must admit they are the perfect tribute engine for this kind of deck....

Full water decks do not work as much as you'd like (Except again the frogs...or fishes but they are not full water neither)

On the other side WATER as a whole is not a theme....Daedalus is, and even then focusing in Codalus gaves you more consistent decks...since is easier to work on him...

I might see among my files other More WATER focused Daedalus Decks if you want to help you in this....

True that, but some of the cards you mention I do not own, so I can't add them even if I wanted to.

Again, very true, but I have Daedalus in my deck mainly to clear the field. Same goes for Neo Daedalus. Codarus (to me) is a substitute card when I can't bring out the other two yet.

Once again, thanks, but I'll learn as I go. I just wanted some changes in my deck, not a nearly complete overhaul of it. You did give me some great ideas on other WATER decks I'm building, so thanks (again lol).

Daed is like king of water here. I mean that is my fav attribute but if there is a water fix he knows it. He runs the best water here so you either drink it or die by thirst

I like the suggestions he gave me, but I'm not gonna be forced to take his advice.

I only wanted a few changes in my deck because I was unsure if I needed some of the cards in my deck or not. Plus I don't have some of the cards he mentioned.

Not a problem At all everything can be easily replace with some cheapers cards and the result shall be still good

Tell me what other things you got and we can make the best out of only the cards you own.

My card supply is very limited, since I don't buy Yu-Gi-Oh cards very often (They eat up my hard earned money quickly >_<).

These are the only cards I could find, and maybe worth mentioning.

Tragoedia

Cyber Dragon x2

Cyber Shark x3

Hydrogeddon x3

Samurai of the Ice Barrier x2

Mermaid Archer x2

Gold Sarcophagus

Book of Moon

Inferno Reckless Summon

Foolish Burial

The Shallow Grave

Creature Swap

Autonomous Action Unit

Time Machine

Metal Reflect Slime

Ultimate Offering

Trap Stun

I'll update if I find anymore cards.

If you buy online, plenty of places have commons for like, $0.33 a card, probably some places sell them cheaper. $1 (~£0.60) for a playset of a good common is pretty nice value, so you might want to consider that if any commons would fit that you're lacking. I've personally used Troll and Toad in the past, so I can confirm that they give good prices, shipping and deliver just fine, even abroad. Hope that helps for some cards.

Monsters (21)

Hydroggedon x 3

Codarus x2

Levia Dragon Daedalus x3

Mobius the Frost Monarch x2

Mother Grizzly x3

Nightmare Penguin x2

Cyber Dragonr x2

Warrior of Atlantis x3

Tragoedia

Spells (12)

A Legendary Ocean x3

Moray of Greed x 3 // Yes add a Third along another Salvage

Mystical Space Typhoon

Gold Sarcophagus

Salvage x 2

Book of Moon x 2 // You'll need to find an additional one...it is common so it won't be so hard I guess

Traps (7)

Call of the Haunted

Dark Bribe x2 // Try replacing them with Bottomless Trap Holes

Divine Wrath

Forgotten Temple of the Deep x2

Solemn Judgment

Now it is more consistent...and can thin and swarm the deck faster thanks to Hydros, seach with Sarcos...got the Salvage + Moray engine...and good tribute fodder in form of Cydra and trago...and you'll need only 1 or 2 extra cards....

At least this is the minimum you can do with this deck and it is decent actually...so...

=D

BTW....from experience...Neo-Daedalus...at 1 is kinda iffy...is better when it can be used as part of a draw engine so I removed for other cards that will let you get Normal Daedalus out Faster....

Sounds good, and yeah true. I'll be sure to remove Neo-Daedalus to fit the other needed cards.

Anyways thanks for helping me out. I really appreciate the time you took to help me with my deck.

Nice, more water enthusiasts. I've been running a water deck for a long time, got 5 wins and 3 losses in a regional once though I admit i had an opponent who had no idea what they were doing. I'll recommend these changes.

Monsters (19)

Deep Sea Diva x3

Abyss Soldier x2

Blizzard Dragon x1

Codarus x2

Levia Dragon Daedalus x1

Caius the Shadow Monarch x1

Mother Grizzly x3

Nightmare Penguin x1

Snowman Eater x1

Warrior of Atlantis x3

Spined Gillman x1

Spells (13)

Book of Moon x3

A Legendary Ocean x3

Moray of Greed x2

Mystical Space Typhoon

Salvage x2

Swords of Revealing Light

Water Hazard

Traps 8

Bottomless Trap Hole x2

Dark Bribe x1

Forgotten Temple of the Deep x2

Mirror Force

Mind Crush

Solemn Judgment

This build has more consistency and power. First off, I know Deep Sea Diva doesn't do well in ALO, but you won't always have ALO out, and Deep Sea Diva is a really great card, especially in a water deck. Caius over Mobius because Caius is just a lot better. You don't need to add Mobius just because its WATER. As for spells, 2-3 Salvage is a must if you're running both Moray of Greed and Water Hazard so you can recycle your water and re-use everything again, which is awesome :) Finally traps, 2 bottomless is a staple and stops everything. Mind crush is also great if you know what your opponent has.

You don't have to follow this exactly, but i really reccomend you use salvage and deep sea diva.
