Red Ryu
Oh, you're doing it wrong ;) That would make the basics for a Realistic Cards Sticky Thread. In Pop Culture, it's not about balance (though it can be about it, but it must not), far from it, it's about creativity, the successful transition from one medium to another and about fun. The priorities in this section are set way differently from the ones in the other card making sections :) At least that's my take on it. So long, Spoon I agree with Spoon. You can't really compare the card making priorities in the Realistic Cards section and Pop Culture Section, because the latter is pretty much entirely based on the creativity of the creator. To a degree I can see this, however, when I look at creativity I look for cards that have flavor and make sense in context while having some level of balance. Many cards in some of these sets don't do this. Strawhat crew member - Nico Robin is a good example of this from the one piece set. Why can she attack twice, with 1600 no less? she can spawn hands but how does this equivocate multiple attacks? If anything based on what she has done in the anime I could see her binding or trapping stuff. And her being destroyed summons another straw hat from the hand or deck without restriction, water 7 arc maybe. It has some creativity, is it balanced, no way in hell. I look at balance as being part of the cards value, pop culture or not I truly think that sets that can successfully add flavor, sensible context with what it is based on, and balance. Flavor and context are important, but balance should not be thrown out the window for it.
Мερhilεs
What you're saying is true. And I get it. But it's not like some of us throw balance away for the sake of flavor and context. I, for one, try to make my cards successfully made with appropriate balance to them. While I'm not so sure about the general public, people who are serious about making ygo cards on this site (like some people I know) try to do it well. ♥ ЅϯᵲåώӀӞ℮ᴙʀɣ−ɴɨɨ−ƈħåɴ ♥
Some of these sets don't fell like they should be stickies imo.Granted this is mostly from personal experience playing the game competitively, I used to be a judge as well. Some of these sets seem to have cards ranging from meh as to near broken, and others ranging from splashable everywhere outside of the set to ones that are even too situational that people wouldn't use it. I'm mostly seeing this in the One Piece and Bleach sets. This is mostly me talking as a semi-competitive player/former judge but it's something I've noticed a lot on this site and I think sets that have good quality from flavor, design, and balance should be stickied. To a degree I can see this, however, when I look at creativity I look for cards that have flavor and make sense in context while having some level of balance. Many cards in some of these sets don't do this.Strawhat crew member - Nico Robin is a good example of this from the one piece set. Flavor and context are important, but balance should not be thrown out the window for it. Towards a certain extent, balance is considered an important factor for cards within the PC subforum, but it does not reign as a single factor that should be considered when a card or cards is or are made. If the vast majority of a set looks reasonably accurate, a few within the set can have their elements unreasonably distributed for the sake of making the set as a whole look more complete. Currently, balance as a "ranking scheme" within the PC subforum is currently fine as it is. If it became more of a deciding factor when it comes to the creation of cards, it would adjust more to being a realistic card than anything else, and thus, would theoretically belong within the RC subforum, if the PC subforum had never existed. I do agree that some of the cards that you may have seen are unbalanced, and I have seen some myself as well. But thinking more on a global scale, many of the card makers on this forum aren't professionals, nor are they even adults. They make cards for fun. If they had the intent of making each and every card perfect in every which way possible, they might as well buy their own company and have them printed out themselves, after being critiqued by hundreds of professionals that were hired specifically for that purpose. We are not trying to achieve that here. If you really want to assist with this subforum, please don't ambiguously criticize against the PC subforum as a whole, but moreso, make some cards yourself with what you deem as significantly appropriate. People do look at another's works, so if yours are as good as you speak, then they may be influenced into improving their own. And on another note, NeosWiseman, yes, and Mephiles of Darkness, no. Sorry. Your thread looks just way too messy to be accepted. Please clean up the spoilers and whatnot, and re-apply then.
Spoon
Mia is back, yey  Well then, I guess it's time to apply once more. If you want you can take down the Wonderland Set for it, I'm currently not working on it. Username: SpoonName of Set: Light Music Edition: The K-On! Just like the show itself it's light-hearted, cute and totally innocent. Those who know the show will recognize it's unique flavor in the cards itself, and those who don't may become interested in watching it (what I highly recommend).Optional Banner: [spoiler=Banner] So long, Spoon

I'm not saying so much that people try to make it professional, more so that balance be partially a factor in the recommendation of these sets, in which some that are put in the op, still it's mostly my opinion on the matter on how this should be handled, I don't want perfect cards I want cards that people know they could play and have fun playing against and with. Still I'll leave this here, as people have pointed out this subforum has a set standard, even if I don't like it personally, so I'll drop the topic and take your advice on making my own thread. Мερhilεs
Ok. I cleaned up my thread, with all the spoilers and whatnot sorted now. Keep up the great work. Just, could you please add some spoilers to help fix them up a bit? It's a bit messy. This is a pre-approval from me for now. @Mephiles of Darkness: Uh... well... It's better... But... I'm not liking the whole dash-in-spoiler-names thing, and the long description in red does not really appeal to me still... Could you try a bit of a cleaner, more generic, and simpler approach? Sorry ^^.

Actually I like the design as it is, because it sets the focus on the main characters. Okay, there may be a bit too much characters in the focus lately... but I just don't want to hide them behind those spoilers :( Well, as soon as I'm back from university, I'll see what I can do about it, thanks for approving it :)
