NEW Commander - Alvidrox the Volcanic Draconian

Howdy, people. SaTuRnPaLaDiN here - and I have a new card for you. I decided to make a new Commander monster this time. For those who are unfamiliar with my Commanders, they were a Subtype of monsters that went into the Field Spell Zone and acted like a living shield for your Life Points. They also gave a bonus if you drew a monster with either the same Attribute or Type of the Commander. Without further ado:

CARD TEXT

This card cannot be Special Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Normal Summoned except by Tributing 2 face-up FIRE or Dragon-Type monsters you control and it is placed face-up in your Field Spell Zone. You cannot Summon any other monsters during the turn this card is Normal Summoned. This card is unaffected by other card effects and cannot be destroyed except by its own effect. Whenever you take Battle Damage or Effect Damage, decrease the DEF of this card by the amount inflicted instead. If this card's DEF is reduced to 0 by its own effect, destroy it. If you draw a FIRE or Dragon-Type monster during your Draw Phase, you can reveal it to your opponent. If you do, discard it and inflict damage to your opponent equal to the Level of the discarded monster x 300.

For errata, they could not be selected as an attack target since they were in the Field Spell Zone.

Thanks for your input. Here is the reason for the ---- in the ATK value in case you are curious:

I had originally thought about putting 0 as its ATK. However, I wanted to make sure that it could not be searched for by things like Sangan and such. Also, giving it an ATK value would give the impression that this card had the ability to attack - which I did not want to do.

Again, thank you for viewing my card.

The ? always looks awkward on the Card Maker, dunno why.

I think that the only card that has an X in its stat value was Slifer the Sky Dragon (but I am not 100% sure on that one).

Also, I would have to suggest a way to determine the values of either an X or ? value - and the Commanders have no means to increase either their ATK or DEF.

Oh, guess you're right...Sorry if I annoyed you. Anyhow, great card. I wouldn't run it because I use a modified Machina Mayhem, so I use Machines. But, again, great card.

Oh, you're not annoying me at all. If anything, I appreciate the commentary. I have no problem at all with clarifying any questions about the mechanics of my cards. It helps users rate the card properly. If you got more questions, go ahead and throw them out there - I don't mind at all.

That's one thing I tried to consider for the Commanders. At first, they were Attribute-only. After a while, I chose to expand them to include Type as well - in order to make them somewhat more splashable. Protection from 4000 damage isn't bad at all, is it?

Compromise-3500. That's not as big as 4000, but not as small as 3000.

That would work out well.

At least they're not as bad as the Divine Commanders. Those were in the original set that the Commanders debuted in. They were fusion monsters of 2 Commanders - usually of conflicting Attributes. All 3 of them were DIVINE and had (get this) 8000 DEF!!!
