Catman25
I recently took a bunch of photos on vacation, thought I'd post a couple. And the first one was a wild cat. Poor thing, it had a bunch of scars on its head as you can see in the photo. D: And the images may take a while to load, even if there's only 3..[spoiler=Large]
Felix
Nice stuff. I like the middle photo most; the composition is nice and the depth of field well used, although the stray leaf on top of the... mysterious berry... it isn't needed, maybe consider removing stuff like that before you take a photo. The top left branch also looks odd with nothing else in the forground (but no avoiding that really, unless you'd messed around with angels and dof a bit more). Also, I'm not sure weather you did it on purpose, but I love how the low contrast out of focus dead leaves completely contrast with the bright berries. The grainy quality you've achieved is also great; makes it look like it's from a magazine. What camera did you use?? Top photo is good also, but you might want to touch it up a bit around the edges (specifically the left hand and bottom ones), just make them a bit darker instead of letting it end in boring concrete, just makes it focus on the cat a bit more. Bottom photo has been done before and I didn't like it the first time. If the whole thing was in colour, there'd be very little interesting about it. Would've looked better with a higher aperture. Catman25
Thanks. I use a Nikon Coolpix, one of those small cameras, so the quality wasn't that great, though I was satisfied with it. And after I took that picture of the berry, I was regretting leaving that little leaf in front. Didn't have time to take another though, we were just doing some quick sight-seeing. And if anyone can tell me what kind of berry that is, that'd be great. >_<
Guest
The photos dont really drag you in and they don't really appeal to the eye. I don't know much (yet) but I do know how to critique photography.
chairman ali
The quality of both are lacking. I prefer if you do some more cleaning post work on it. Same with the colours, use more colour adjustments. You also need smoother and more composed lighting. You could easily do this with home equipment. Flashlight over the object and cover the rest with something to give shadows on the unwanted objects. Also you're not following the rule of thirds correctly. I'll think about this next time, as I had no readily accessible home equipment on a diff. continent. :
Kizzi
@bottom one: use lower aperture, fix your white balance, try to centre it a bit more.
