[LR] Defending Earth

[spoiler=Lore]When your opponent declares a direct attack, you can discard 3 cards to Special Summon this monster from your hand or Deck in face-up Defense Position and negate the attack. While this card is face-up on the field, neither player can activate Equip Spell Cards. If this card was Special Summoned, it loses 200 DEF during each of your End Phases. Once per turn, you can Tribute 1 face-up monster you control to increase your Life Points by 1000. All damage you receive while you control this face-up monster is halved.

This card is fairly balanced, and can easily tick off your opponent, since it can be Special Summoned from your Deck.

1. Don't summon anything.

It's a really hot card and the holo effect is really good. If that card would exist i DEFINETLY would use it.

Pic: 9/10 Use of holo makes up for a common use pic. Pic itself fits description perfectly.

 

Template: 9/10 Normal Template +1 for Holo

 

OCG: 10/10 No errors that I could see. Well Done.

 

Originality/Creativity: 10/10 It does the job with style.

 

Playability: 9/10 Personally, I'm of 2 minds on this card. I like it, but at the same time I think it might be too good. I would get rid of that last effect. It kinda seems unnecessary since you can gain Life Points back (even though that comes with a cost). Plus, since it'll be in Defense Mode the entire match in most situations, unless your opponent summons a monster with a piercing ability, your Life Points will be safe anyways, so it's practically unnecessary.

 

Overall: 47/50 Awesome :D I like it, if it existed, it would be a staple card in any decent Rock Deck.

Really good, but i would change a few things.

 

1. Only decrease its DEF if it was Special Summoned

2. Tweak the last effect

I am too lazy to edit the card and add the holo, border color etc. all over again so I just edited the effect in the Lore spoiler.

 

I tweaked the last effect but now I think it may be OP'd.
