JG.
Let them. Your (Most americans in general) idea that it shouldn't be allowed just because Muslim terrorists attacked WTC, and by that logic all muslims are terrorists, is just retarded. poopybuttoxes
I think that to build it would show that america has forgiven the islamic people and shown love to them. Im sure thats not why they're doing it, and im sure the islamic people wouldnt take it that way even if that was the case cause of the stupid people will signs that say "The islamic people build mosques over their victories", but it would be nice. If it was up to me it wouldnt be built. Im very christian and very loving, but to respect the "religion" of islam is to blaphamize christianity and thats one of the worst sins, but i love all people no matter what they do. I wouldnt want a mosque built anywhere ever.
Scyire
The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights. The amendment prohibits the making of any law "respecting an establishment of religion", impeding the free exercise of religion... etc. End of thread. Guest
There are under ten thousand members of Al-Qaida. There are somewhere between one and ten million Muslim-Americans. Idiots see that America was attacked by Muslim Terrorists and focus on the first word of that phrase instead of the second. poopybuttoxes, as mature and intelligent a person as his username implies, doesn't understand the concept of religious liberty. As far as he's concerned, Saudi Arabia's stance toward civil rights is absolutely perfect in every way, with only one exception: they guessed wrong when picking the One True Religion by going with Islam over Christianity. But besides that, they're absolutely perfect.
poopybuttoxes
Why so sarcastic? Its hillarious when people trip on my name. How much better is yours? haha I understand religious liberty. Who doesnt, but AS A CHRISTIAN it is wrong to think that other "religions" are ok to practice because that would make all of them wrong. The al-qaida is the equivilant to the kkk in christianity. They are twisted, but like i said, i love people no matter what they do or say. Even you crab. Religious liberty is the dumbest thing america let happen. Everything just went downhill after that. Religious liberty = no morals followed by the country. It lets ignorance plauge the country. Like it has. You think im not open minded and i laugh at that. Most of the laws we have were written by GOD, and if you dont want to believe that GOD wrote them, then believe that moses wrote them. This country is a big contradiction as long as we let people have "religious liberty".
Scyire
It lets ignorance plauge the country. Pot calling the kettle black, or whatever. lol Like it has. You think im not open minded and i laugh at that. Most of the laws we have were written by GOD...Holy s***, you're stupid. History class, my friend was created for a reason. ...This country is a big contradiction as long as we let people have "religious liberty". Mosques have been here for decades, and yet, nobody has complained. They have not led to any sort of attacks or the harm of citizens. Muslims are a part of this country, whether or not they have another place to pray doesn't mean that Muslims don't exist in this country. They do. And they deserve equal rights as all of us. I'm not replying to this thread again. You are entitled to you're opinion, and I respect that. After a certain FriendlyHost, I've learned to respect others. So I'm going to gently walk away. I hope that both you, poopybottoxes, and you Crab Helmet can too.
poopybuttoxes
The topic was to discuss your views on the mosque at ground zero and i did. I did not fail. "Holy s***, you're stupid. History class, my friend was created for a reason." - you sir, have failed. You dont learn that stuff in history BECAUSE of religious liberty, but being a believer or not; the ten commantments are the basis of most civil countries laws and morals believe it or not. As I said before, I'm not going to waste my time, and your time, arguing with you. Think about it; is it really worth the time trying to change the opinion of some random person in the interwebs? Not for me. Think what you want to think. Do what you want to do; idc. I just don't want to get involved in this crap anymore.-lock thread-

poopybuttoxes
Can no one take anything seriously on this site? Is it all a joke? You are right scy, its really hard to change a persons morals (or give them morals to begin with) over the internet. Its because people lack a certain ammount of intelligence that cant be obtained during the dispute. So most of the time these things go on in vain. So i understand why you dont want to waste you time and i will respect that, but if you come to this thread and dont expect religious things to be talked about you might just lack that certain ammount of intelligence stated before. Most americans dont want the mosque to be built. Thats why its being talked about in the first place, and yea you can say "there are better things they could be talking about", but this isnt the place for other things. This has been one of the few things in a long time where civilian democrats and republicans agree on something publicly. Of course everyone expected the republicans to not like it, because most republicans are christian, but even the democrats are out there protesting. There might even be more democrats than republicans because they are against the war and really against the 9/11 thing. Ignorance will rule though i guess. They havent started building it so i think they just shouldnt do it in the first place. People are gonna protest the building during contruction and after construction and thats just gonna cause more problems in the situation and show the true colors of americans. I for one dislike the idea of having countries. It just separates all the people, and i dislike america because they let the illuminati run the media and most political dealings. Ice.
We can't take what you say seriously because putting one religion over another is completely stupid in my book. You love all people, but it would be a sin to let somebody place a house of worship somewhere? If this was a Church or even a Temple, nobody would be jabroniing. ?someone?
So poopybuttoxes...You "love" them, yet want no Mosques built because they disagree with your religion. According to you, to respect their religion would be to turn against your own. This is why wars start. When one religion seeks to eradicate another because their own views are the only "true" ones. I'm not saying you want to eradicate them, but in general you want them to go away. This strikes me as stupid because no matter how long you live, there will always be other religions, and they will also think only their beliefs are true. I think we should just accept them and let them build their Mosque, or community. I believe most of them will live by our laws, and hopefully people will accept them.As long as they are lawful, I don't think there is a reason to stop them from settling in America. CMRenji
I really don't want to be sucked into this but I feel I must. All Islamic people are not Terrorists. The people who want the mosque built most likely are just normal people. I can see this may offend some people but it's not right on Ground Zero. I believe they have the rights to build the mosque. Great Unclean One: VK
*drops down from a AC-130 and drops kicks Poopy pants* Your a f***ing idiot. First the TCG section, now this. All religions are lies. All they do, is make life both harder and easier. You want to pick a "true" religion? Go shoot yourself, and see which afterlife you go to. You know why "America" is called the land of the free? BECAUSE WE ALLOW FREEDOM OF MOST THINGS. Freedom to talk how we want. Freedom to have guns. Freedom to WORSHIP as we want. Freedom to run our own business. Listen fucktard. Our troops DIED in a war that liberated a country and secured some relations with Iraq. Our troops DIED to free a oppressed country and lose the ONLY GUY TO SUCCESSFULLY attack the U.S. on it's own soil. Our troops DIED giving the rights of freedom to a oppressed people, and yet you want to take away one of the most important rights that a human being has just so they could WORSHIP your religion? Alright mister L Ron Hubbard. Let's go on a crusade, KILLING AND CONVERTING ALL THESE "HEATHENS"!

Tentacruel
There are under ten thousand members of Al-Qaida. There are somewhere between one and ten million Muslim-Americans. Either way, I am very surprised at this statistic, and I think if there really is that big of a difference, then let it be built. However, I think the underlined is very, very vague and that there must be a more accurate number somewhere. But anyway, you are very correct. [/replying to crab] @All of you. Its not so much that people want to suppress the religion of Islam, but that it is quite insensitive to build there. That being said, to deny them that right is to go against what America stands for. If I, as a Christian, were to expect them to be prohibited from building there, how can I expect to be allowed freedom in my own religious practices? So yes, it should be allowed to be built.
