Although it remains face-up, doesn't really matter, as your opponent would know you have Scrap as you use it.
And yes, you do take the damage aswell, but there are many cards that increase your Life Points, and lower your opponent's.
It could be a useful addition to a burn Deck, though it's not as good as most attack negation, although its burn could be nice.
[b]Messenger of Peace[/b], [b]Gravity Bind[/b], [b]Level Limit Area B[/b], [b]Wall of Revealing Light[/b]...

Maybe merge with: [b]Nimble Momonga[/b], [b]Poison of the Old Man[/b], [b]Magic Cylinder[/b].
The poison spell could be handy, it has a double effect.
Either +1200LP to you.
-800 to your opponent, could help to take the edge off this Trap.
