Aozora
After two months - I, Dusk (username Aozora), have returned to Yugiohcardmaker.net! And with my return, I bring chapter nine of my fanfic! Worship me! (Not really. That'd be kinda strange.) Anyway, I think there are three kinds of Yugioh fanfics.1. The epic and awesomely done ones like Rising Star to the Heavens by Seeker of the Soul and Infinity Chronicles by Wolf General.2. The medium level ones made by people who like to write, but don't edit their work enough to really get it into the above category. Mine falls under this - I don't develop the characters enough because in real life people don't undergo character development. That makes it near-impossible for me to write in a fanfic. (Though for some reason I have no trouble with character development in non-fanfic stories. Go figure.)3. The stuff that sucks. I hope my fanfic never falls into this category, even though I don't make it quite as good as it deserves. I bring this up because while I read more fanfics I began to find more of the third kind. Thus making me think 'I just want to find a fic with some fairly good dueling action. Lots of unique cards, and maybe some classic decks thrown in here and there.' This lead to the thought 'Hey - wasn't I writing something like that?' Which in turn lead me back to Into the Darkness, and that lead me back here. So yay for my triumphant return, though I wish I had a better memory so that I wouldn't have forgotten it in the first place. I mean, I last came here 2-26-08, according to the log, meaning that I've been gone for FAR too long. Sorry! Please forgive me! And without further ado, chapter eight. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter Eight: Showdown! Light Versus Dark! “A great duelist is here.” “I wonder if he’s better than Kiira?” “I heard… he uses a deck similar to Kiira’s old deck.” “I’ve found the one person that can beat you. Ao-” ‘It has to be him. After all these years, he thought he could just come here? He probably wants me to change back.’ Kiira thought, a dark smile growing on his face. ‘I’ll show him. I’ll show him why I can never go back.’ ----------------------------------------------- “So, he’ll be here, will he?” Aozora asked. R nodded. “I told him to meet you here… he didn’t look happy, but he said he’d show up.” Aozora breathed a sigh of relief. “I know Kiira. Even when he gets in one of his moods, he’ll never take back his word.” He told the boy, who nodded in remembrance. “I remember what he was like last year. I wanted to have as much fun dueling as he did… but something’s changed. I want to see him go back to that - the boy that the showed the Ra Dorm how to have a good time.” It was at that moment that the doors to the main dueling arena burst open, and Kiira strode in, gaining the attention of the large crowd they had acquired. R went to sit in the stands with the rest of the students, and Professor Cyrus Altomar stepped forward, announcing the match. As the head of the Obelisk Blue Boys Dorm, he commanded a lot of respect, and the audience went quiet as he spoke. “We have a visiting student, Arubaito Aozora versus our very own Ra Yellow, Yagami Kiira. The duel will be in standard tournament format - four thousand life points, five card draw, no special rules. Ban list is the second most recent. Ready?” Kiira nodded, and Aozora gave a polite bow. “Duel!” KLP: 4000ALP: 4000 “Challenger goes first.” Cyrus announced. “Aozora will make the first move.” “Draw! I’ll summon the Keybearer, in attack mode!” (1600/1500) The monster took to the field, and Aozora added the top card if his deck to his hand. “Come on… Show me your best, Kiira.” He said, and his opponent sneered at him. “I’ll equip the Keybearer with the Blade of Heart - Two Crossed, and end my turn.” Aozora placed the spell into his duel disk and the Duel Spirit swung it’s new weapon experimentally. Cyrus made the commentary. “Kiira, it’s your turn. You may begin… now.” “Draw. I summon the Shadow Wielder, in attack mode. I also activate the continuous spell card Shadow Shuffle.” His monster appeared out of the shadow of the Keybearer, yellow eyes glowing malevolently, a matching pair with Kiira’s. “I reveal a level three monster, my Red Nocturne. Now attack - destroy your copy.” Kiira ordered, and the monster struck out at the Keybearer. It blocked with the sword, and two new monsters appeared on the field. (1600/1500) (1300/1300) “I end.” He growled. (ALP: 3700) “My turn… I activate the spell card Birth By Sleep! I never thought I’d have to use it so quickly against you - but I must win at all costs. I remove Keybearer, Keybearer, and The 13 - The Key of Destiny. Now, I special summon three The Keyblade’s Chosen. Kiira… it ends here.” (1900/1800)x3 “Attack, all three of you! Finish him!” The first Chosen attacked, only to be destroyed by the dark version of his younger self. The second met the same fate, and the third finally destroyed it. (ALP: 3500) (KLP: 3700) “You can reveal when attacked, too, huh? I hadn’t expected that… it’s kind of overpowered for a level four monster.” Aozora stated. “I reject the weak. Why would I have a use for a 1600 monster that can’t even make itself stronger? Heh… you underestimate me.” Kiira said, though he felt a bit of fear from the advanced version of his old monster. “I’ll equip my monster with Blade of Heart - Two Crossed once more, and end my turn.” Kiira scowled at his opponent. “How did you draw a second of those already?” He asked. Aozora scratched the back of his head sheepishly, light blue hair swaying back and forth. “Sorry, I must’ve forgot to explain. When I summon The Keyblade’s Chosen, I can add one card with ‘Key’ or ‘Heart’ in it’s name to my hand. There was only one in my grave, however, as my two Keybearers and the Key of Destiny are currently hanging out in my side deck.” Kiira nodded his understanding, and drew his card. “I summon my Red Nocturne, in defense mode, and activate my spell card, Inferno Heartless Summon. I special summon all copies of my Heartless monster from my deck, and you get to summon two DARK monsters from yours.” (800/600)x3 “I don’t use monsters of that attribute.” Aozora said, and Kiira laughed at him. “Too bad for you, then. I’ll throw two cards face-down, and end my turn.” The yellow-eyed boy stated, his cards appearing. “I’ll draw. I activate the spell card that will allow me to win this duel. Overdrive! With this, I can fuse monsters with my Chosen to create truly powerful creatures. Sure, they revert back in three turns, but that’s more than enough. I fuse Guardian of Heart with Keyblade’s Chosen to create the powerful Valor Drive!” (2300/2000) A version of the older Keybearer appeared, wearing a bright red outfit. “When you summon a monster, each of my monsters deals you three hundred points of damage. I believe it applies here.” Kiira said, and Aozora’s life point counter fell. (ALP: 2600) “Fine. My monster can attack twice, so he’ll destroy two of your monsters.” The monster jumped forward, wielding dual Kingdom Keys, but each strike bounced off of an invisible barrier, making tiny ‘ping!’ noises. “My trap, Darkness Exclusion Wall. I won’t let your monster through so easily.” Kiira stated, having gained the upper hand again. “I believe it’s my turn now? I draw, and tribute three Heartless monsters to summon the Black Behemoth, in attack mode.” A giant Heartless now stood where his three smaller monsters had once been. (2700/2300) “Attack, Behemoth! Destroy the Valor!” The monster easily crushed his Drive, and the Chosen reappeared on the field. (ALP: 2200) (1900/1800) “My Chosen is summoned whenever a Drive monster is destroyed. And with his effect, I can add another card in my graveyard with ‘Key’ or ‘Heart’ in it’s name to my hand. I select Two Crossed once more, and equip it to Chosen!” Kiira scowled. He’d keep pulling those monsters out of his deck with that effect. Let’s see… this was his last Chosen, and he had side decked two Keybearers, and a Key of Destiny, so he was almost out. “Hmph… I’ll still win. No matter what.” Kiira said, and Aozora scowled at him. “Isn’t it about time you give yourself up? I mean… I could tell you weren’t Kiira right away.” He said, and Kiira(?) smiled. “What are you talking about? I’m Kiira… now, at least.” He said, yellow eyes flashing. Aozora shook his head. “You’re delusional. I switch Chosen to attack mode, and I’ll activate the spell card Ragnarok!” (3700/0) “Wait, what?! How did he gain that kind of power!” Kiira(?) asked frantically. “When a Keybearer attacks after I activate Ragnarok, his defense is added to his attack! But after this attack, all monsters on my field are destroyed! Go, Ragnarok!” Beams of light pierced through the giant heartless, and Kiira(?) slid backwards from the force if the explosion. (KLP: 2700) The Chosen disappeared, and in it’s place, The Key of Destiny and Keybearer appeared. “Go, double direct attack! End this duel!” Aozora shouted, and Kiira(?) threw his hand back, flipping up a trap. “Eternal Darkness! I can destroy one attacking monster, and special summon Shadow Wielder!” The Key of Destiny blew apart, and the dark version of the Keybearer took to the field. “Reveal face-down! The Super Fusion spell card! This will fuse Shadow Wielder and Keybearer, to summon a monster that is truly powerful!” Mirden immediately blanched. ‘What?! Where did he get that card?! Could he have stolen it before we dueled? No… that’s impossible. But there’s only mine in existence! The other one was lost when Jaden and Yubel fused!” “I summon - Two Thirds, Keyblade Master! (Actual Text: 2/3 - Keyblade Master)” (2000/2000) “His effect allows me to… wait, this can’t be! This effect has no use in a Heartless deck!” He shouted angrily. “That’s probably because the card was meant to be summoned by a normal fusion in a DARK and LIGHT deck.” Aozora said reasonably, and Kiira(?) began to lose his temper, muttering curses under his breath. “You could have won right now, too. If you had chose not to destroy my The 13 monster, you could have fused all three. That particular fusion monster has three thousand attack points, more than enough to win the duel.” Aozora told him, and the yellow-eyed boy raised his hand, directing the monster to attack him. ‘It feels interesting to be on the opposite end of the Keybearer’s weapon for once.’ He thought, as he fell backward from the force of the blow. (ALP: 200) “My turn! I activate the continuous spell Heart’s Sanctuary! As long as a certain monster in on my field, and the Keybearer is in my graveyard that monster may not be destroyed in battle. I now summon that monster! Go, Princess of Heart, in defense mode! (1100/2000) A girl with brown hair and oversized shoes appeared on the field, smiling at Kiira. The boy fought the urge to smile back, as he had every other time he had played the card. A quick glare of shining eyes later, and the monster stepped back, shocked. “Yeah, he’s lost. We’ve gotta bring him back, so do your best, okay?” She nodded, still seeming wary of her old user. “I end my turn!” Aozora said, giving a meaningful glance to the last card in his hand. “Draw! I summon the Green Requiem, in defense mode!” (600/800) “I’ll end there, but you’ll see my true strength soon enough. No matter how you try and stall, I’ll still beat you.” Aozora ignored the taunt, pulling the top card off his deck. “Tell me - why do you still keep up that façade? Kiira and you are separate people. Your minds may have merged, but you will never be him.” Kiira(?) growled, and Aozora threw a card into his duel disk. “One facedown card, and my turn ends. Face it, ‘Kiira’. You cannot hide it from me, and soon I will expose it to the rest of this school.” Kiira’s eyes yellow eyes shone unnaturally as he pulled the top card from the deck. “Draw!” He shouted forcefully, and examined his hand carefully. “So, you’re planning to summon that, then. I’ll make sure you never draw the last card needed. You are at only two hundred life points, after all.” Aozora smiled. “My goal is to snap Kiira out of the state of mind that allows you to join with him, not to win - though admittedly, that would be nice, and winning is another way to achieve that goal. I don‘t expect to last too much longer - but I will fight until I have brought my friend back.” “My turn. And what do you know - I guess I shouldn’t disappoint. I’ll summon the Manipulator of Memories, in defense mode!” (1100/2000) “But that’s not all - you know what comes next. By discarding one fusion spell card from my hand, I can combine the two. I offer Overdrive, Princess of Heart, and Manipulator of Memories to special summon my true queen of light, the Radiant Sea, in defense mode!” The Princess of Heart returned in an older form, giving off a light that dwarfed those of the dueling arena. (0/3000) Kiira closed his eyes, and when he reopened them, they had become yellow bulging orbs - a dramatic change even form the yellow eyes he had obtained a while ago. His body seemed to give off a pulse, and it was suddenly shown to be covered in a dark substance. “Your true form has been revealed. You are no more than a duel spirit taking advantage of Kiira’s weakness. And that duel spirit is…” The dark Kiira suddenly disappeared, replaced by the original - even his eyes had reverted to their normal blue. Behind him, his spirit partner formed, a familiar black shape. “Shadow Wielder - I know he had your light counterpart, but that is no reason to possess my friend.” Aozora finished, as Kiira’s blue eyes lit up. “…just what do you know?” The newly restored Kiira said, looking downwards. “We did not form a bond based on the Keybearer’s bond with him, but on how similar we are. The state of mind was perfect - he was essentially me incarnate. So he allowed me into his body.” Aozora could instantly tell it was the duel spirit speaking through Kiira, as it couldn’t say anything normally. “And so,” Kiira’s blue eyes focused intensely on his old friend. “I will continue to use this power, this darkness, to defeat my brother, and end my suffering once and for all.” Aozora frowned. It did seem as though he was still the same, even without the duel spirit’s persona being the dominant one. “My turn - draw!” He shouted, as his monsters vanished from the field. “During the end phase of the turn that Radiant Sea is summoned, all DARK monsters are returned to their owner’s hand. From then on, no DARK monsters may be played.” Aozora commented. “Shut up! You think I don’t know my own card?! I activate Silence of the Shadows! When I have no DARK monsters on my side of the field, I can remove all monsters on your side of the field from play - but I cannot summon during the turn I activate this effect!” Aozora blinked at this play. That card didn’t seem worth in his opinion, though he realized there were situations where it could be helpful, like if your opponent had a lot of monsters and you didn’t have any other way to stop them, or in a circumstance like this. “I’ll end. This is your last turn, so make it count.” Kiira threatened, and Aozora drew. ‘Great. What do I do now? I was hoping this would change him, but he seems to be even more lost than I thought. …I guess the only way is to win this and show him how strong a deck of light really is.’ “I summon the Keybearer, in attack mode!” (1600/1500) After the monster appeared, however, the hologram disappeared and the duel disks shut down, leaving a very confused Aozora and his duel spirit wondering just what happened. (ALP: 0) “Three turns after Black Behemoth hits the graveyard, his effect activates. At any time after that, I may activate the effect of a card in the graveyard as a chain. I chose the effect of Red Nocturne, dealing you three hundred points of damage when you summon a monster. Face it - you couldn’t win form the start.” Kiira walked off, the dark duel spirit floating behind him. “And there you have it - our very own Kiira from Ra Yellow is victorious!” The teacher announced, and a lot of people cheered for their classmate. Aozora nodded. They hadn’t noticed what was going on with Kiira due to their inability to se duel spirits, and they naturally wouldn’t pay enough attention to their dialogue to have heard enough to figure it out. Even if they got some glimpse of what was going on, it would probably be shoved aside as taunts and idle banter. He knew he didn’t pay much attention to the taunts between duelists himself, instead trying to analyze their moves and figure out what they were planning as the duel progressed. Leaving the stadium, he was stopped by a hand on his shoulder. “Okay. You have ten seconds to explain what the hell that was about.” Aozora smiled. It appeared there was at least one other who possessed the sight at this school. -------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter Nine - Rescue Janken! The Mystery of Super Fusion! Aozora's mission to the Duel Academy island ended in failure, and on top of that, Janken, Kiira's friend, has been acting strangely. When Mirden finds out from him what happened before the match, he begins recovery of Janken's dueling spirit, having been pulled from him by Kiira when he stole Super Fusion. Meanwhile, Aozora recieves a message from the man who brought him to Duel Academy telling him that the only person who could save Kiira now is his older brother. Next chapter - The purpose of Super Fusion's theft is revealed to Mirden, and Xiikra finally begins to do something about his brother's new personality. Since I've planned what comes next, I might as well give chapter ten and eleven out here too. Chapter Ten - The Thirteenth Struggle Xiikra and Kiira finally get their faceoff, and Kiira's new Heartless deck puts up a much better fight than his old one. However, can it stand up to the full might of The 13? And what's this second set his brother mentions? Chapter Eleven - The Thirteenth Dillemma As the battle drags on, Kiira starts seeing double. And these seconds have a whole different attitude than the first. Can his Darkness fight this new type of power? Find out the true potential of Kaiser Xiikra's deck as the full set is revealed. ---------------------------------------------------------- I've only shown maybe six cards of Xiikra's deck, so you have something pretty big to look forward to. Of course, card will be added later on in the rest of the series, but nearly all of Xiikra's monster will appear through the course of these two chapters. I can't wait to write it, but I have to do Chapter Nine first. Oh well. That's a story, I suppose - you can't just write the parts that you want to. Oh, and Chapter Thirteen is the last chapter of my story's forst arc. It's more of a wrap up chapter, drawing all the loose ends that the story leaves together to prepare for the second arc, in which the dark duelists from chapters one and four are the main evil. Fighting them will span several arcs, so I'm going to say that the story really begins there. Until I post again! (And you won't have to wait two months, either.) ------------------------------ Another side note: I turned 16 since my last post here. Hooray. Aozora
Thanks. 'Into the Darkness' has now exceeded 50 pages (53). That's only the beginning, though, as ther first arc, and really the one that's mainly there to introduce the characters, is just now coming near comletion. I hope to get it to 70 pages by the end of the arc, but that's probably not going to happen. Oh well. I'll just see how it goes and make goals from there. After all, if I try to add random stuff in to make it longer, I'd just make it suck. Chapter Six's card list should be up any moment now. EDIT: While working on the card list, I realized that, due to some mistake of mine, Chapter Seven didn't exist - it was titled chapter eight. and from there on it was listed as nine. So what was eight and nine are now seven and eight, and I have made appropriate changes to my notes. This means that I'd make my goal of getting twenty more pages in by chapter thirteen, however, as before I though I only had chapters 10-13 to do it in. So now I have a goal of 75 pages. If I make that too easily, however, I'll make the goal 80.
Aozora
I am happy to say that my thread in written cards, "Into the Darkness - the card list" has been caught up with the fanfic itself. On top of that good news, I would like to say that I am holding a contest - the first person to correctly guess what fanfiction inspered this card gets a cameo in my fic. Yay... if you win, you'll be one of the new students coming in in the next arc. From that, you'll appear spoadically - about as much as Aozora, who'll be dissapearing back to his usual place for the entirety of the second arc. So you'll be a semi-main character (A main character who doesn't appear enough. Like... Bakura, or something.) The Unknowing Impostor - Aros3 StarsLIGHT/Warrior1000/1000This card's name is also treated as "Keybearer". There we have it, the first contest. I say first because I may put some more in, depending on how much I'm in the mood to write. Now for the hints:1. The fanfic 'Aros' is in is found on Fanfiction.net, in the Kingdom Hearts section.2. It's over 100,000 words.3. It contains 'Sanctuary' in it's title. Good luck... should anyone actually decide to compete, that is.
Aozora
Good news! I have finally gotten around to making the actual cards from my fanfic - at least, the Kingdom Hearts based ones. You'll find them in my thread in Pop Culture Cards. Though it does mean that I probably won't have the next chapter up by the end of today, as I have stayed up far too late doing so (becuase my sister was hogging the computer from about 11PM to 2AM, so I had to wait until she was done. This, of course, means that I will be sleeping in today, and thus, won't have as much time to write as needed to finish an entire chapter. So look forward to it tomarrow instead. I would also like to take this time to ask "WTF?". I have over 360 views on this fic, yet only 6 different people (not including myself) ever posted here. Jeez... I would also like to say thank you. As my story is only on chapter 9, it sure has a lot of views, meaning that people apparently like it (though you'd never tell by the lack of repliers). I'll write as fast as I can so that I don't make any of you who are reading my story wait. Until my next post...

Aozora
I must apologize for my stastement that I would have the story up today. Due to staying up late, my mom made my little sister stay home from school, so she wouldn't let me on the computer until 8. (7:53, if you want to get specific.) Thus, I will work on it tonight so that I may update tomorrow. I will also try to have the next batch of cards up in my thread in Pop Culture Cards. Once again, sorry. Aozora
Finally I have enough time to put it up! Took far too long, especially for a short, non-dueling chapter. (4.5 pages... pathetic.) In this chapter, the main villian of Arc 2 is revealed, along with a new female charater who will be one of the more main ones in the second arc. Hurray for preperations.... Yeah, and the leader of the main villain's group of warriors... she's a unique one, but that isn't shown in this chapter due to her not encountering any of the heroes, and just appearing in voice only. WARNING: The title isn't actually that relavant to this chapter. It merely means that Janken is being saved, and we now know why Super Fusion disappeared from Mirden's deck. I simply couldn't come oup with anything better. Sorry. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter Nine: Rescue Janken - The Mystery of Super Fusion! Aozora turned to see the new arrival. She was a feisty-looking girl from Ra Yellow, though, that was to be expected, as they made up half the school‘s population. “Why should I tell you? It’s none of your business.” She smiled. “I though you’d say that. I’m Kohana, Momoiro Kohana. I’m the one who fights evil in this school.” Aozora blinked. “So… you think you’re so kind of hero, am I right?” She stomped her foot on the ground childishly. “I am a hero! I’m famous among the Sliphers! Now tell me what just went on, and why nobody else saw it!” Aozora nodded. “Well, I’ll believe you’re a hero. After all, only those with magical power can see duel spirits, meaning you’re either a good guy or a bad guy, and the world’s running short on villains lately. The reason nobody else saw that is because it was the work of a duel spirit, and thus, on a magical level few people can see. Now, if you‘ll excuse me, I have to go find where the guest room the principal loaned me for my stay here is.” Kohana frowned as the boy walked off. He was very rude and there was something inside her that just didn’t like him. He had said that only those with magical power in them could have seen it, and that made you either a hero or a villain… that was it. He had to be evil, she figured. ----------------------------------- Janken sat back in the stands. There was something about Kiira that wasn’t right… but after their meeting earlier, he wanted to avoid him at all costs. “I… I’m such a chicken…” He told himself, and a voice answered him back. “No, I don’t think so. No human should want to get tangled up with this kind of mess.” Mirden told him. “But… something’s different. You seem almost as if your spirit’s been sucked out of you. I know that couldn’t happen merely from this kind of indirect exposure to it. What happened before the duel?” Janken sighed. “I’m sorry, Mi… Mir… um, Murdoc.” “It’s Mirden.” “Right.” Janken sighed depressingly. “It’s just, you left a rare card in your notebook, and Kiira stole if from me when we met. It’s that Super Fusion card that he played in the duel against that kid, Ao- um… his old friend.” It made sense now. This boy had undergone some sort of mental torture without knowing it, probably when he had refused to give up Super Fusion. In addition, that was why he couldn’t select it from his deck when they dueled. Running scanning magic through the boy, Mirden recognized the presence of a spell that was draining his duel energy - no wonder that Kiira had beaten him and Aozora so easily! He was running off the power of three people’s draws. It would take a while to construct a counter-spell of the proper level, but that could be shortened by… He’d have to find someplace to hide before he even thought about that. ------------------------------ In the darkness, a lone hand slowly reached out, returning back with a phone. Dialing a number my memory, the hand placed the phone next to it’s ear and waited. “Hello! You’ve reached Aozora… or, well, you didn’t reach me. Leave a message so I know you called.” There was an annoyed curse as it waited to hear the ‘beep’. “Aozora. This is the one who called you to Duel Academy. I see you failed in your battle against Kiira. But don’t worry… there’s still one way to help him, but I had wanted to avoid it unless there was no other way.” He paused, thinking of how to word it. “You’ll need to get Xiikra.” He said, expressing his disgust at the one mentioned with a particularly nasty tone placed over his name. “He’ll need to beat him again, this time when both of them are trying their hardest. If Xiikra wins, Kiira should be free from the duel spirit’s control.” He hung up, having said all he needed to say. Placing the phone back down on the table, he ran his fingers through his long black hair, sighing to himself. “What a pain. I suppose phase one shall have to be implemented after winter break.” He told himself. “So… I wonder who among these students can defeat them - my seven-man-squad of darkness.” He pressed a button underneath the table. “N.E.M.E.S.I.S. squad captain, are you in position?” He asked calmly. There was a short pause before. “Yes, my lord. I have even prepared the dueling field for their battle for you.” The female voice came over the speaker. “I had some extra time today, as she tired herself out unnecessarily.” He nodded, lying down on the bed. “Good. It’s nice to know that you won’t slack off in your free time… unlike the rest of your team.” The voice laughed. “That’s why I’m the leader. I get things done.” The boy sighed. “Indeed you do. But sometimes I think you might not be taking care of your own issues to help me out. Remember, if you aren’t working on your host, then you’ll never get more time, will you?” The girl sounded kind of surprised that he had addressed that issue of hers. “W-well, I only live to serve you, master ShadoS…” She tired, and he rubbed his temples. “Yes, but think of it this way - you’ll have more time with me if you are in control longer.” There was really nothing else to say, and he wouldn’t bother to wait for the girl’s reply, so he cut the transmission by pressing the hidden button again. “It seems that my time is almost up as well…” ShadoS commented uncertainly. “I do hope he gets that message. That troublesome duel spirit’s on the same level as my best duelists. If they stayed together… it would only mean one more threat to my goals.” ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next day, Aozora visited Xiikra’s room to see if he could convince him to duel his brother one more time. Of course, when he knocked at the door, there was no answer. Trying again, an annoyed voice spoke up. “If you’re another one of those losers coming to me for duel advice, then get lost. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. My deck’s strategies don’t work in any other deck.” Aozora sweatdropped. “No, this is Aozora, the boy visiting duel academy. Do you remember me, Xiikra? It’s been a really long time since we last met.” The door opened a few seconds later. “Ah, I remember you. The one who gave Kiira those cards. What did you want? Can’t you just go play with Kiira?” This was followed by a lecture about how he should know that his little brother was possessed by a duel spirit. “Ah, so you’ve already tried…” Xiikra commented neutrally, having ignored the previous rant. “I’ve known for a while. I just assumed that he’d either break free himself, or that someone else would do it… but it appears I really do need to take action.” Aozora remembered why they had never gotten along. Of the few occasions they met, his brother’s offhand and uncaring personality would always annoy him. “Yes. I believe you’re the only one here who can.” “Well, I guess I’d better prepare for this. If what you say is true, he’ll be a fairly good opponent.” With that remark, he quickly closed his door in Aozora’s face. “Thirteen, gather to me.” He commanded, and eleven duel spirits gathered in the room. “Wait, I’m missing one… fine. You can keep your silly pride, Superior.” He commented, and pulled out his deck. “So, which of you want to come along today?” ------------------------------------------------------------------ Yes. Nearly all of XIII are duel spirits. however, keep in mind that, while the duel spirits look the same, they may not always act the same, as they're just copies of the real ones - and thus are not exactly the same. Course, it's not like they're major characters either, so I wouldn't worry. I mean, how many speaking roles to you see the Blue Eyes White Dragon getting? Anyway, the next chapter begins the duel, and I'm getting really excited about using a lot more of Xiikra's cards - and Kiira's new Heartless monsters will be fun as well. Anyway, until then! Aelsthla-Mental
Well, i had the time to read it all................Oh yeah, what i thought about it...................it was...oh, I'm taking too long, it was GREAT! Interesting enough storyline (even though i don't quite get exactly what's going on, I'm sure the plot will be further revealed in time). The cards are great, i remember i put Organization cards in my fanfiction. Their style of play was quite a bit different though. They weren't too important, although they may be in the second arc. Enough about me. YOU have made a very good fanfic and YOU might just make it to tier three! What more can i say? I mean, let me think... Well, a bit more of an interlude between Kiira being good and bad, i just felt we didn't know the good one well enough. Course, that's just me, and i am NOT a good reviewer. Well, good luck! Aozora
Heh, note my talking about bad fanfiction Character Development. That's why you barely got to know Kiira - my brain simply wouldn't allow me to develop his character any further before the plot arrived. Kiira will have more of that in the second Arc, however. bury the year
Quick question. Is this story posted on FanFiction.net? If so, what is your account name? It seems like that if you do have one, there would be more chapters, and I'm impressed with the story so far. PS: The answer to your "contest" is "Searching for Sanctuary". Honestly, it wasn't that hard, seeing that there was only one fan-fic that fit the parameters.
Aelsthla-Mental
There was? I must have missed a hint, because mine turned out quite a few.
