Max Darkness
Running a "Gyzarus"-focussed "Gladiator Beasts" Deck, I've always ended up having to inflict a small amount of extra damage at the end of a duel because of "Gyzarus'" 2400 ATK. (2400 x 3 = 7200). So, since the "Glad Beasts" have almost every other kind of effect in their pick-and-mix bag, why not a basic burn effect? Welcome "Velite". Simple but effective. Enjoy. Effect: When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Gladiator Beast" monster, inflict 800 damage to your opponent. At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card attacked or was attacked, you can return it to the Deck to Special Summon 1 "Gladiator Beast" monster from your Deck, except "Gladiator Beast Velite". Lord Ursus
What is this?! You made a simple card, Max? O.o Jokes aside, this is pretty good. I'm not that familiar with how effective the Glad Beast works, though. I've only heard they're powerful. I so no errors with the OCG. Isn't Velite a roman military faction? If it is, good job! P. "Glad Beasts" work on rapid summoning and heavy beat-down, using their effects to gain high ATK, destroy cards on the field or recycle cards from the Graveyard. They only have one burn card and it's one of the Fusions, which will usually be tagged out to get "Gyzarus" out. The Velites were an early Roman military group, but as the army was modernised, they were side-lined before being removed. The gladiator class of Velites were armed in an identical manner to the original army set-up. Thanks. Professor Cobra
Good pic, 800 seems a little high. maybe 500? 8/
Max Darkness
Good pic, 800 seems a little high. maybe 500? 8/10
Well, considering a huge number of effects deal 800 damage at the moment (like the "Reactors"), it seemed like the logical number. Plus, the weakest (stats-wise) "Gladiator Beasts" have very potent effects, "Murmillo" destroying any face-up monster and "Secutor" Special Summoning a pair of "Gladiator Beasts", while remaining on the field, and thus setting up "Heraklinos'" summoning. So it seemed like a large enough amount without being overpowered, since if you tag out your "Gladiator Beast Gyzarus/Gaiodiaz" ahead of time to summon a pair of these, you're left with two weak monsters that can't defend themselves.
