So yeah.
This is a new idea created by me.
I don't know how I got the idea, but I thought it would be cool to make cards based around it, and to see what the forum thinks about them.
I have currently only created a few monsters and even fewer Spells/Traps but more will come. That is, if this thread rises in popularity and the forum accepts these cards.

Well, you don't wanna hear me babbling on right?
I thought so. So without further ado, I present to you the new way of Summoning.

Switch Summon!
● How it works:

1. Make sure you control a monster, in this case, a Level 4 LIGHT Fiend-Type monster. (Face-up OR face-down on the field, doesn't matter)
2. Let's say you have "Thunderring Initium" (Level 4/LIGHT/Thunder) in your hand.
3. Send the Level 4 LIGHT Fiend-Type monster you control to the hand. Then, you can place "Thunderring Initium" from your hand on the field in the same Battle Position as the other monster.
4. You have now correctly performed a Switch Summon.

● Other rules:

● A Switch Summon is not treated as a Normal Summon. It is treated as a Special Summon but can only be performed once per turn. You can still perform 1 Normal Summon and as many other Special Summons as your cards allow you to.
● The monster that is about to be Switch Summoned must share the same Level as the monster it is Switch Summon with (2, 4, 7 etc.).
● The monster that is about to be Switch Summoned must ALSO share either the same Attribute (DARK, LIGHT etc.) and/or Monster Card Type (Fiend, Fairy etc.).
● You CAN Switch Summon during your opponent's turn.
● You CANNOT use your opponent's monsters to Switch Summon with.
● If you Switch Summon a Level 5 or higher monster by Switch Summon, you need to control a Level 5 or higher monster that meets the requirements and send that to the place stated on the card you're about to Summon.
● You cannot Switch Summon using multiple monsters ( Level 2 + Level 4 = Level 6 etc.). If you want to Switch Summon a Level 6 monster, use a Level 6 monster to Switch with.
● The monster that is on the field and is being used for the Switch Summon is sent to the place stated in the Switch Summon Monster's card lore, effect (hand, Deck, Graveyard or removed from play).
● NOTE! Some monsters can be Switch Summoned from the Deck.
● A Switch Summon can be performed using 2 Switch Summon monsters. (1 on the field and the one about to be Summoned)
I might have made the above text more complex and harder to understand than it really is, but I think that most members on YCM have the brain to understand it.
This card is a combination card by me and General White. The link to his "Vega" cards can be found here.

This card cannot be Summoned except by Switch Summon. Once per turn, you can reveal 1 Monster Card in your Deck to your opponent. If you do, put 1 Vega Counter on it and it remains face-up in the Deck. (Shuffle the Deck) When that revealed card is drawn, you can remove all Vega Counters from it to Special Summon it. The revealed card gains an additional effect in which you can add 1 Switch Summon monster with a Level equal to the number of Vega Counters it, from your Deck to your hand. If you do, remove all counters from the revealed card. When this card is destroyed, remove all Vega Counters placed by this card and destroy the card(s) affected by this card.
More cards will be added as time goes. Enjoy and... C ya!

;)

Dude, these are Awesome. I understand it completely, its a whole new way to Summon monsters, and then all the others cards wouldn't be adble to do it, except for torrential tribute, but yea, reason this isn't as op'd is b/c you still have a different monster on the field to use them, but these are Awesome.

+rep coming your way.

You should, just in case, add some cards to defend against these cards, or they would be considered an op'd Archetype, like mine, but just saying.

you should check mine out, to, if you want, its the Vega Monsters idea.

This are interesting Tom, good job.

Probably go do with being made into a sub-type, that would be cool, and simplifying a bit I understood it all but it could maybe made a little more straightforward.

Cards themselves have good pics and decent effects. In the balance argument, maybe switch summons should be considered Normal summons (like Gemini's I guess) I dunno that's just my two-cence for what it's worth.

Nice one though mate.

Just wondering about switch back, what happens if the original monster has been moved - ie. was switched summoned back to the hand then re-summoned normally/destroyed and in Graveyard?

It can still be Summoned from the place it's surrently in. It never states from where, only that it has to be the correct monster.

And for some lol reason, I like lists... Thus the rule section being long.

I don't wanna make it Normal Summon, and you can only Summon once per turn...

Thanks for the comment, will think about your ideas!

Well...none of them are anywhere near as broke as Geminis. I mean, I don't see what the big deal is. I could see this mechanic comboing well with Spirit Monsters, especially the ones that Summon from the Deck.

Also, this:

Normal Summon Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi + Wail for discard effect + Switch Summon Blue-Nova Dragon = 2800 damage

I personally don't like the idea. Well, the monster are cool and all, including their support cards, but in my opinion any kind of tentative of creating new summoning type seens noobish. You should make it a sub-type (if it's already not. My computer never shows the entire cards of this site, I don't know why), put the rulings in the card (Like Gemini and Union monsters)(and for us to know which of them is summoned only with a monster of that type, or that attribute, or at least one of these two, or if it needs the two, or if can be summoned from the deck), and monst of all, you should make it to be treated as a Normal Summon or preferably Special Summon. Gemini monster are Gemini Summoned, but the term is not used in any card effect. The same goes for for Contact Fusions (Neos Fusion Monster), Tag Fusions (Gladiator Beast Fusion Monsters, which is largely the same as a Contact Fusion) and maybe there is another type of summon not used in any card effect, that I don't remember.
