Here Goes... Something!

Just fancied making a few new cards to go with these images, decided to have a go at at doing some cards with draw effects - 1 Monster, 1 Spell and 1 Trap. Enjoy and give feedback.

Mystic Mage

Lore: This card's ATK and DEF is equal to the amount of Spell Counters on the field x 300. Each time a Spell Card is activated, place 1 Spell Counter on this card. Remove 3 Spell Counters from this card to draw cards from your Deck until you draw a Spell Card, and add it to your hand (all other cards drawn by this effect are sent to the Graveyard).

Gift of the Maiden

Lore: Send 1 card on your side of the field to the Graveyard, then draw 1 card. If it is the same type of card as the card you sent to the Graveyard, activate the corresponding effect. Monster - Special Summon the drawn monster. Spell - Increase your Life Points by 1000. Trap - You can activate the drawn Trap card from your hand. If the card drawn is a different type to the card sent to the Graveyard, you take 1000 points of Damage.

Path of the Faithful

Lore: You can only activate this card if you have 1000 Life Points or less. Draw 2 cards.

You certainly succeeded with matching the names and pictures, except I would go with something to the taste of "Gift of the Mermaid" with the second one. "Mystic Mage"'s first 2 effects are fine, but that last one will really "mill" your Deck, unless you got a lot of Spells. "Gift of the Mermaid" is alright. It really depends on luck though. "Path of the Faithful" is really bland, but helps, I guess. I'd say these cards are above average. Try spicing up that last one, though.

Thanks for comment. Mystic was originally going to be draw a Spell card of choice but thought that may be overpowered and went for a Magical Merchant effect instead. Considering making it Lv4 though anyone think I should lower it or is it suits a Lv6?

You're right about the name. May go for 'Gift of the Aqua Maiden' or 'Aqua Spirit' or something.

Path is just a balanced POG. Wanted to go for something like the name suggests, staying true even against the odds and keeping on going down you path; ie til this last draw you put all your faith in. Not every card needs to be complicated, but welcome to any suggests on how to add to it without losing all meaning and becoming generically over-complex.

I like the idea of card 1. Spell Counter monsters can always use a good Spell Searcher. The ATK is balanced well. I have this way of finding out, if your card gains attack equal to a number of something. I look at the multiple that is being used (in your card thats 300) and multiply it by 5 (if it has a limit lower than that then I multiply it by that number) then I check the answer with the level and see if its decent. With your card, it would take 5 Spell Counters just to up it to 1500. So it would take 8 to get it to a good LVL 6 ATK. Good good. Also it has an effect like....whats it called. That one that removes 2 Spell Counters to draw a card. Then it's a Magical Merchant to ;D!

Card 2...It seems rather balanced. However, I'm worried about the monster effect. However, most monsters are either restricted from SS or they have requirements. Anyways it's rather good. Now if it had been a quick play .-. I'da beat you up. You could send a Trap and draw Mirror Force...Unlikely but still you could also draw Negate Attack, Sakuretsu, other cards.

Card 3 standard, well.

Positive review from a highly respected member, high praise indeed thank you.

With Gift's monster effect, I guess looking at it again it's just a spell version of 'A Hero Emerges' but with a bit more control over your chances. If you draw BEWD, Dark Magician, whatever then lucky you. Might change the Spell draw effect to something more interesting.

Wil wait for more feedback before any changes are made but good feedback so far.
