On the whole, not bad, but like I said, needs more monsters. They dont really work well together. Not the best pointers, but hope they help :) [color=blue][b]OCG[/b][/color] Always word your effects properly. Don't forget that some things such as normal summon, special summon, flip summon, attack position, defense position, spell card, trap card, life points, and whatnot are always capitalized. Also do not forget that in some cases, attack and defense may be ATK and DEF, or the other way around, depending on the effect. Same thing when you write down a number such as one, it should be in the actual number form, so one would be 1, two would be 2, etc. Also, don't forget outside of OCG, there is just typing the word correctly. Don't forget to use proper spelling as well. The cards you have posted here have a few OCG errors here and there, so I'd look into fixing / finding them. [color=blue][b]The Effects[/b][/color] All the cards seem to have a Lockdown strategy to them, limiting your opponent's moves, and also your own. Now don't forget that even though these concepts may have been done before, find a way to make them more....exciting, original, unique, etc. Also, OCG ties with the effect of a card as well. Not wording an effect right could lead to a hidden loop in the card's effect, thus making the card overpowered by itself, or when paired up with other cards. This also ties in with balance. So consider on thinking if the effect is balanced. But even though the effect may be balanced, something such as the Level / the ATK and DEF can change that completely, so take note of those things as well. Anbu-of-Sand Posted November 24, 2010 Report Share Posted November 24, 2010 [color=blue][b]Magic School Archetype Review[/b][/color] The Archetype has a decent lockdown strategy mostly revolving around Spells, Traps, and monster card effects, making either player pay Life Points just to activate a certain Spell, Trap, or monster card effect, depending on the effect of said card. Now even though this concept has been done a few times in the past of YGO, I can say this Archetype has somewhat of a more unique way of doing so. The OCG for the cards need improvement. Don't forget that some basic this such as Spell, Trap, Life Points, Spellcaster, Type, and whatnot have to be capitalized, along with grammar on it's own has to be spot-on. Some of the card's here are quite average / okay / balanced, then on the other hand, some cards are quite overpowering, I can only assume they are, because I am not entirely sure on the effect by the OCG in some spots. So for now, the Archetype seems decent and all, just tweak some effects to balance them out and clean up the OCG a bit. The 2 newest monsters seem okay, but that Trish monster seems a tad too overpowering. Don't forget to take note on balance, seeing it's one of the key things you have to remember when making a (good) card. New rating is a [b]5.6/10[/b]. [/quote] Actually, all I think it needs is that it's last effect needs a Level downgrade. Being able to Special Summon a Level [b]7[/b] and lower seems quite well, high with the Level range there. I'd say reducing it to the average Level 4 would be best for the card. And perhaps even stating the first effect only effects all [b]other[/b] Spellcaster-Type monsters, otherwise this becomes a fearsome 3100 beatstick. And if you do state it only effects other Spellcaster-Types, how but making the 300 ATK boost to 400?
