New Archtype Support

Recommended Posts

Went flicking through Yugioh Wikia earlier for inspiration earlier when I found a load of archtypes that were absolutely brand new to me (having not dueled in a long time). I really liked a lot of them, so have decided to make some new cards as a lot of these 'teams' are a bit thin on numbers. So, every so often, expect 3 new cards that fit into the Duel Terminal archtypes, all Level 4 Effect Monsters that hopefully cover weaknesses and build on their Deck's strengths - given the limited knowledge I've managed to gather.
Lore: When this card destroys a monster in battle, you can add 1 'X-Saber' Monster from your Deck to your hand that is the same Level as the destroyed Monster.

Lore: When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points, select 1 empty Monster Card Zone on either side of the field. The next monster that is summoned in the selected Monster Card Zone is destroyed, and the player takes 500 points of Direct Damage. The player can then Special Summon a monster with less than 500 DEF from their Deck.

Lore: If this card is used as a Fusion Material Monster in the summoning of a 'Gemknight' Fusion Monster, the summoned monster gains 500 ATK. When this face-up card is destroyed in battle, add 1 'Gemknight Fusion' from your Deck to your hand (Then shuffle your Deck).

Lore: If the ATK of a monster that attacks this monster is lower than the DEF of this card, destroy the attacking monster. (Damage calculation is applied normally). When your opponent declares an attack on an 'Inverz' Monster that is in face-up Defence Position, you can discard 1 card to reduce the DEF of this card to 0 and increase the DEF of that 'Inverz' Monster by 1500.

Lore: When this card is used as a Tribute in the Ritual Summoning of a 'Ritua' Monster, send this face-up card to the bottom of your Deck instead of your Graveyard. When you draw this face-up card, send it to the Graveyard to Special Summon 1 'Ritua' Ritual Monster from your Graveyard. Your opponent cannot activate Trap cards in response to this Special Summon.

Lore: This card is also treated as a Winged Beast-Type. If this card exists in your Graveyard, you can use it as a Synchro Material for a Synchro Summon. The Synchro Monster that uses this card in the Graveyard as a Synchro Material cannot declare an attack or activate it's effect the turn it is summoned.
Good effects, good pics, they really fit their archtype, IMO it's a 9.5/10.

Pretty much this, although the last 3 pics are kinda blurry, if they had better resolution they would be good. The effects do what they are supposed to do, so that's good. These cover their archetypes biggest weaknesses well. Nice job.

X-Saber support: wat lolrandompluses and a beater, BROKENZ 3/10
Flamvell Support: acceleration for an archetype that doesn't need it. Yay. 4/10
Gemknight support: Good card that adds consistency for an undersupported archetype. 7/10
Vairon support: unplayable, Arms Hole exists 3/10
Inverz: unplayable, Inverz already have decent members and support. 3/10
Ritua: Great support that encourages the normal Ritua engine over ARA, could be played. 7/10

Well thank you for commenting Ser WJW, I'm sure you've probably got some knowledge from actual usage of these types. But I disagree with you to an extent about Flamvell and Inverz. The Inverz they are notorious for having 0 DEF as a major drawback, so this would make people think twice about attacking your face-downs if you ran it and could keep weaker Inverz alive, definately not that unplayable.

As for Flamvell yeah it does do what all other Flamvell do, burn and swarm. But I like to think I did it in a way that makes it a tactical card that requires hinking about use, dunno if I really achieved that though. I was having to go off what I read off YugiWikia and try to make cards that addressed the weaknesses stated on there.

But thanks for comments anyway, in balance I think you rate the Ritua higher than I do, so I'm not just ranting at you for the low rates, it's cool that people tell me my cards aren't perfect but it would help if you added potential ways to improve them. We agree on one thing at least, our favourite being Diamun. I just love her personally. :)
