Bahamut - Envoy of the End
I think we (Britian) are going to make a complete hash of it. There are too many events in the Olympics, should just be track and field. Still in the modern games early inception, there were events like sculpture, cooking, debating, and some really mad ones. Even the founder of the new games won a gold medal for poetry . So at least they've been gotten rid off that. Little QI fact there. Another little QI fact is the gold medals are made with mostly silver and just have a thin gold coat. You'd think given the amount of money the games cost to host, they could spare the extra couple of million to make gold medals out of gold huh? Anyway back to the point, the Olympics are mostly good, but 2012 won't be in comparison to Athens and Beijing.

Phantom M.C.
interesting fact: for some athletes and countries, the olympics have turned into a place to satisfy national pride and personal ego, with winning being the most important thing. while originally the olympics were supposed be a place for individuals to compete their skills and strengths. now you have government sponsored national teams & professional athletes running around, instead of the individuals (amateur or not) participating. there are few exceptions, but you get the idea.
