Embittered Moon
I created this thread because i was bored and wanted to see how other ppl make pokemon cards, so be creative and have fun:) all YCM rules apply. here's an example of one of my pokemon cards lore: If this card was summoned by the effect of Charmeleon, this card gains 500 ATK. If this card attacks a Plant type monster, the Plant loses 500 ATK and DEF untill the end of the damage step. If this card is attacked by a WATER monster, this card loses 300 ATK and DEF untill the end of the damage step.her's another: lore: This card can only be normal summoned by tributing two LIGHT monsters. This card cannot be special summoned from the deck. Each time this card attacks, it gains 300 ATK. When this card destroys an opponent's monster, take one trap card from your deck and put it in your hand. When this card attacks a WATER monster, it loses 400 ATK and DEF. When this card is attacked by an EARTH monster, Zapdos loses 500 ATK and DEF.*the link for the pic did not work, so i will try again, not using photoshop but just using the ycm link for the card. Time Psyduck
I don't think you should open this thread up for anyone to post. If someone wants to put effort into making Pokémon based cards, they'll make their own thread, so you're not going to gain anything from letting other people post their cards on your thread. On to your cards, which don't seem that bad. It's difficult to judge how the attack gain from summoning it with Charmeleon affects it without seeing Charmeleon, although 3100 is high for a level 7, so you may want to consider making it a level 8. The adjustments based on types and attributes are interesting, although I'd suggest you make it when the card battles that type/attribute, since it gives it more utility to a rather specialised effect. (and attack position monsters that are attacked destroying attackers with less ATK implies they're not passive, and actually counter-attack). Also, where it say 'the Plant loses 500 ATK...,' I recommend you change it to 'that monster loses 500 ATK...'. It just flows better. As I said, the effect is rather specialised, so you may want to consider letting it do something else. Zapdos....were you going for the non-legal original egyptian god style? If you were, then I guess it's OK, but as a playable card it should be an effect monster. Not being special summon-able from the deck seems to me to be an attempt to limit it's summoning, but it's not very much, since it still allows you to summon it from the hand, graveyard or removed from play zones, and other than Temple of the Kings + Mythical Beast or Sersket I can't think of anything that would let you do that anyway. Gaining 300 ATK each time it attacks isn't really a problem, although it may be problematic, since it forces your opponent to take it down quickly. The search a trap from your deck is broken. It can give you instant access to every single one of all those limited trap cards instantly. Adding one from your graveyard, or even flipping over cards on your deck, taking the first one, and then putting the other cards back, would still be very powerful, and probably OP'd, but without the same level of brokenness. Also, you should specify destruction by battle, and you may want to have that monster sent to the graveyard, giving your opponent potential options to jam that effect. The wording for the effect of battling a WATER monster implies Zapdos loses attack; you may want to modify the wording to clarify it. I can't see why it would lose out against EARTH monsters - remember Zapdos is flying, and immune to ground attacks. Losing ATK against Rock-types would make more sense (and may be better for non-flying electrics as well, since EARTH covers a huge variety of monsters, and a majority of them are various things that would in no way be classified as Ground Types in the Pokémon games.)
