Responding to Shaco...

I wasn't talking about defining the word "Love" I was talking about describing it. There is a huge difference between Defining and Describing.

Now to the one who needs help.

Bloodrun is right' date=' give it time, and don't let it ruin your entire life. Oh and just remember. the the trusting YCM members give their support and wish you luck with getting your gf back.

Heh, don't even worry about what I said. After the first sentence, I was basically just talking to myself. I was kinda just writing it down as it came to me.

Wait, maybe not... let me reread that...

hmmmm... "it's alright, but I expected people to try anduse there full-sized mind in this thread"

You trying to call my close minded? Or simple minded?

And there isn't that much of a difference between Define and Describe. :/

thank you' date=' I use deepness to make my gf happy. She loves it, and I love being able to help people get back to their senses.

Eloquence is an excellent skill. Makes you sound smarter and deeper and counter statements sound far better when written in such a way.

Such is grammar.

Not if you sound like you have a point ;)

At the cost of seeming ignorant, I'd like to interject my viewpoint.

Love is a single, definable thing.

The problem isn't that love is different in different situations, rather it's that the other things you feel in the other relationships aren't love, or at least, shouldn't be called love.

The problem is that love is given too many definitions which could be, or should be, split into several different words with different meanings.

I suppose all various definitions of the word are comparable by their feeling of a strong connection to another person or thing.

Perhaps that is the definition of love "a strong connection to another person or thing"

Assuming that anything can be defined in a single manner, then yes, this is true. But Love is whatever the bearer believes it to be, regardless of how they feel. Everything is perception, a simple concept, meaning no emotion can be more than generically defined. I would agree with your definition of love, as it makes sense to me. Someone who views love as nothing short of an utter necessity for a person or object, an addiction of sorts for another person, with a passionate feeling for them, might say your definition is not strong enough for such a "Powerful" emotion.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

Same concept.

I wasn't trying to insult anyone. I was saying I thought people would pay more attention than they normally would because a kid is in need of emotional help. And that's serious. for example, even though this probably isn't really happening, if you are in need of some serious emotional help would you like it if people thought you were kidding?

Oh, and the difference between Defining a word and Describing a word is that you can look up the definition in a dictionary, but you can't look up the description. The description of love is like what Lord Sheogorath said, it's what you believe it is, and not very many people share the same belief of what Love really is. There's as much difference between Decription and Definition aas there is with Knowing something, and Believing in something.
