A/N: Whoops, my fanfic author instincts are kicking in. Anyway, sorry this thread wasn't up earlier; I may have accidentally clicked "Preview Post" or "Save As Draft" and not noticed. Oh well, it's here now.

 

Story:

 

Bet you've never been in a competition with a story, eh? Anyway, here it is.

For five billion years, they've been trapped. For five billion years, they've been straining to get out. And they're about to break free. If they do, it will mean the end of reality as we know it: the Dread Lords won't be challenged by the pathetic, short-lived "sentients" that might vainly try to get in their way...

But there's a way to stop them. Eighteen duelists must enter the pocket dimension where the Dread Lords are trapped and harness their power. The six teams of three will battle it out with each other. Four will make it to the Dread Dimension. And only one team will gain the power of the Dread Lords. The others will be cast out, amnesiac to the momentous events that occurred...

 

Well, that was interesting, wasn't it? Now, then, methods of entry:

 

Step 1: Formulate a deck. The deck may include up to 1 copy of "Monster Reborn" and up to three copies of "Polymerization." All other cards must be made by you, and at least ten must be made specifically for the tournament.

 

Step 2: PM the deck list to me. I'll put it through a randomizer, and PM the randomized list back to you. This eliminates the problem of cheating, and opens up an interesting new dimension to the duels, since you'll know what strategies might work by seeing your whole deck at once.

 

Step 3: Create a persona. That's just a name and a personality description. That will be important; the Dread Lords will set up challenges tailored to your character's weaknesses. Also, the teams will be set up based on character personality. Then go to tektek.org and select "Dream Avatar" to create an image of your persona. Submit both to me via PM.

 

Step 4: If you've been approved thus far, then you're in. Once your name's up, you've gotten a place secured as one of the thirty Champions of the Arnor (competitors).

 

Now, da rules:

1. Most of this will challenge your RPing skills; the actual tournament may be held in the RP section. While RPing, you must stay in character as detailed in your personality. If not, you'll be disqualified.

2. If your deck turns out to be broken, you're gone. Your team will then have a disadvantage in the duels.

3. Don't do anything stupid or illegal. You're expected to have better conduct than normal in the Dread Dimension. Too bad, and you're gone. The Dread Lords are harsh. This includes the general content of your posts, not what your characters say. Your characters can say anything, even X'aflnaneflefhaeryerhfak7kghfalkgsfghsaib.

4. Cheat in a duel, and your WHOLE TEAM is disqualified.

 

And the duel mechanics.

1. Each team member will be assigned a number. This, obviously, specifies in which order you attack. In a normal, 3-on-3 duel, player 1 of team 1 goes first, player 1 of team 2, player 2 of team 1, player 2 of team 2, player 3 of team 1, and player 3 of team 2.

2. In order to win, you must make two of your opponents lose all of their Life Points. It's half, rounded up (3 members = 2 defeated, 2 members = 1 defeated, 1 member = 1 defeated).

3. Other than that, it's normal dueling. I'm back for good, so I'll check back often; if you have any questionable rulings, ask me, or a moderator, if I'm not around.

In process: THE LAUNCH

Take 3-person time capsules to the Gauntlet, which will in turn take you to the Dread Dimension. Enemies are floating around in space; if you collide with another ship, you duel with the owner of the other ship. Various hazards also lie along the path to the Gauntlet. Though by far the easiest stage, as all teams are almost guaranteed to finish, that's not to say it won't be a fair challenge. Êtes-vous pret? Oui? Allez!

 

Next: THE GAUNTLET

Navigate a three-route, incredibly hazardous labyrinth to enter the Death Bastion, where the Dread Lords take refuge. Unfortunately, only five gates lead to the finish, so one team won't make it through. It's a brutal, free-for-all race to the finish, and everyone's desperate to win. Are you up to the task?

Do we need to PM you the Fusion-Deck?

 

Can we change something to our (Fusion) Deck after and before a duel?

 

Do you look at the strenght of cards so nobody will play with overpowerdcards?

 

When we search our deck for a card with a cards effect will you than send a new randomised deck list?

1. I guess I thought that would be included in "deck." Yes, you do.

2. If you include a side deck, yes. You can bring up to sixty-five cards to the Dread Dimension, but only fifty can be in a deck.

3. Yes, I do.

4. There's no point; the reason they have you shuffle your deck is so that you can't know your card order, but in the Dread Dimension, you can see your whole deck at once. Just remove the card from the list.

 

BlueKyubbi: That is a problem. Coincidentally, it won't let me log in under normal circumstances, either. I'll see what I can do about it; in the mean time, can you post a link to your deck ASAP? I'll let you know when I've randomized it, and then you can delete the post with the link. Now I'm off to request a username change.
