You still need the part in the effect that signifies it as a Union.

(A monster can only by equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster would be destroyed (in battle), destroy this card instead.)

i took that part out. all union monsters have the same space so konami is babying its players by reprinting it on every card.
