Bahamut - Envoy of the End
Made this for the final round of FTW's recent contest. Finished 4th (I have an irksome habit of doing that ) There were no requirements, other than to make the best card you could, and when I saw this (epic) pic on Doom's new archive, I knew what to do - make my first automatic win card. Shame I did it quite badly. Lore: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by removing from play 'Demise, King of Armageddon' and 'Ruin, Queen of Oblivion' on your side of the field. This card cannot declare an attack, or be selected as the target of an attack or a card effect. When this card is summoned successfully, place 3 'Countdown' Counters on it. During each of your opponent's End Phases, remove 1 'Countdown' Counter. If there are no 'Countdown' Counters on this card, you win the duel. Problems I've indentified: Think I've made it too difficult to summon, but then removing Demise/Ruin from Graveyard is too easy with cards like 'Foolish Burial' about. Maybe I should go for a 'Thenin the Great Sphinx' kind of effect? Also if this card is on the field alone your opponent can attack directly, but if you have 'Command Knight' or 'Spirit Barrier' out then there's not a lot your opponent can do except wait for the inevitable. So, any advice on improving this while keeping it in step with the original idea? Matt Bahamut
