Blackwing - Silverwind the Ascendant

He is right, but not necessarily for the right reasons. The wrong message got implied.

The problem with this card is it requires 3 monsters, NOT that Solemn Warning will kill it. Its effect is not worth the 3 monster (specific Tuner) investment, when other 3 mon Synchros (Mist Wurm) are better for 1 star more and generic conditions. Solemn Warning will kill Mist Wurm also, but Mist Wurm is good. This card's problem is its effect is not worth the 3 monsters.

That's what he said.

@Manjourne

Not entirely right. Like evilfusion stated, he was right for the wrong reasons, and the wrong message was implied to it. By the way Rebel stated it, it seemed like it wasn't worth running because Solemn Warning was a threat, even though Solemn Warning even though is a threat, doesn't stop people from getting out monsters such as Mist Wurm as evilfusion stated as well.

But either way, it still is a bad card.

Right. The message conveyed by Rebel's first post implied this wasn't worth running BECAUSE of Warning being around, not because the card isn't worth the investment even if its effect was successful. So he's right, this card isn't worth running, and it does use three monsters. But the focus of the post seems to be on the threat of Solemn Warning (which stops EVERY Synchro), rather than the three monster investment for nothing special or consistent.

Solemn Warning is really not a good argument against a Synchro, nor is the threat of Bottomless Trap Hole. There are Synchros that will be safe from Bottomless, but to write off a card's use because it can be destroyed or negated isn't the greatest argument, and that's what the post implied. In this case, the argument is still true, but the reasoning is faulty.

It was established that it requires 3 monsters, but you could argue the exact same point with Mist Wurm, except ineffectively because Mist Wurm's effect is actually good if it doesn't get hit with Warning. Is Mist Wurm unrunnable because it will take 3 of your monsters if hit with Warning? Anbu argued that Warning isn't the problem killing this card, as the risk of such investments is usually worthwhile, or there are protection traps to ensure the card's survival.

This card's effect is NOT good enough to warrant a specific archetype Tuner + 2 or more non-tuners, and the specific and excessive Summoning Condition to Synchro Silverwind makes its loss from Warning much larger. The implication, even unintentional, that Warning is the reason behind this card being subpar clouds the ACTUAL reason this card isn't worth running: It requires 3 monsters for a subpar effect. If it was 2 monsters, this card would be good, or at least decent considering the investment.
