JG.
Nani is a retard. [/thread] But yeah, I think my jaw hit the ground when I switched channel to this game and saw Portugal were 3-0 ahead.
MarbleZone
I was at the stadium. We destroyed them... It was embarrassing in a sense - Spain wasn't even trying, they played so slowly and carefully that, for the whole 90 minutes, it seemed as if their players were given instructions from their clubs to tone it down (which they probably have, given we're in mid-season). That would have been totally understandable, had they not lost 4 goals to 0. Helder Postiga and Hugo Almeida scored, and for most of you who aren't familiar with those players... they never score. Ever. And they're the only two strikers we have. EDIT: yes, Nani is a retard. But the goal was valid either way, wrong call on that one.
.Starrk
Meh. Spain should have beaten them. But Portugal was clearly the better side. BTW Nani is a retard even while he is still playing for Man U
Bahamut - Envoy of the End
I'm English, we lost 2-1 to France, didn't watch the game because I knew we would be, and should have been slaughtered by a team who were dreadful at the World Cup. England fans only solace from South Africa was 'at least we're not French', that's now gone out the window. Not that I care anymore. Players not putting their blood and guts in for their country, clubs telling the management what to do with their players and withdrawing them from selection, no wonder I've switched to rugby. We don't even have international breaks, I'm watching Leicester-Harlequins tonight (well what will essentially be their reserves anyway) and England play Samoa in a friendly tomorrow. There will not be a single tackle shirked from, and nothing less than 100% from anyone.
snowyash
International friendlies are a sham. Only the less successful have a point to prove. Even then, the players have almost no commitment to play for their countries. For example, I think Northern Ireland and Scotland had almost 20 withdrawals between them. Still, I'm a football man (real football) through and through and I'll happily see my country get trashed if it means I can see a good game.
