Grunt Issun
The don't ask don't tell policy has been removed, gays can now serve openly in the millitary, 70% of soilders said it wouldnt make a differance, so did 44% of spouses
Floyd.
I don't think it will make a difference... So now you tick a box saying "sexual orientation" I'm not too bothered, if they really wanted to join they could have said they were heterosexual, unless of course there are complications such as their spouse is a man. Was it an outdated law that they've just changed or something? I dunno, just wondering.
.Starrk
Good. It wouldn't matter. A soldiers sexuality doesnt affect how they fight.
Grunt Issun
OPENLY! they could serve as long as they didn't say there were gay, or were openly gay, now they can be openly gay and still serve in the military.

Dark
I originally liked the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy, as it allowed gays to serve in the military, albeit secretly. I never thought that my country would be intelligent enough to allow homosexuals to openly serve in the military. I have newfound respect for my country, as shocking as it sounds. :/

I'm especially sorry that you're embarrassed by our troops being allowed to be openly homosexual, while they're fighting to the death, and you're sitting in front of your computer, running on Monster energy drinks and some-unidentified-brand of potato chips. You may stress the word 'openly' as if it protects you from a lash-back like this, but I don't see how it does. You are wishing that someone is singled out because of they're sexuality, whereas that is wrong in every way. Do you think we'll be judged by our soldier's sexuality while the enemy is staring down the most powerful army in the world? I don't think so. I was not this much of a b**** one year ago. Marisa Kirisame-ze
<3 I'm hoping that slowly the world is moving out of homophobia and hate on gays. Hopefully soon, you'll look very down upon if you have a problem toward someone just because they're gay. This just got us one step further. CinnamonStar
Well Alexander's army is told to have had a majority of gays so that would be enough reason for me to allow gays into the army.
CrabHelmet
Where's your source for DADT being removed? The Pentagon has stated that removing it would have no impact on combat effectiveness, and the legislature has been making noise about removing it, and there's a court case that could overturn it that's currently stuck in the appeals process, but as it stands DADT is still unfortunately in effect.
If you want to become a quality troll, the first step is not "Randomly flame an established quality troll because you were too stupid to read his post properly". If you were literate, you would know that Dark said DADT was an improvement over the previous policy (no gays ever) and that he saw it as a decent compromise because the correct status (no orientation discrimination) was previously impossible for a country as bigoted as America. Next time, use your eyes before posting.

GenzoTheHarpist
Its still around. There was a REPORT that said it should be removed, but it still exists. And has put John McCain into the ludicrous position of trying to claim he is 100% in support of the pentagon's independence, while arguing that they should not have a right to decide their own policy on this issue. Especially on the internet.
"What a f**" "Gay" "You stupid Homo" "Gayness should be considered a type of retardation" and "This gay f** is so gay and faggety he should die in a gay rapehole where he is shot into a gay f**'s mouth and puked into a shot glass, and have a picture taken of him and posted on 4chan where everybody just comments 'gay' and moves on"
Maybe this can earn some respect to them and hopefully be the next step to ending Homophobia. LiAM
Thankfully the homophobia disease is dying out. There are a few extremists still, mainly Catholics or other extremist religions. ~/Coolio Prime\~
It's weird how the religious tend to act so kindly to other genetic defects, but when it comes to one that only makes it sure a person won't contribute to overpopulation they're gonna' burn in hell for it. :s
