This is a Bleach Fan-Fic with original characters, though I've referenced a few characters from the original Bleach, that takes place mostly within the Soul Society. Millenia have passed since the original Bleach plot and now the focus has shifted onto the Captains and Lieutenants of the new generation of the Gotei 13. I'm proud to present:

Chapter 1 – Oh How Time Has Passed Us By

Within the Seireitei, atop of one of the many roofs of the buildings of the 3rd Division, two individuals wearing captain uniforms were sitting casually. The night sky was full of bright stars during this particular night. “Say…. It’s been awhile since you and I had such a pleasant conversation, wouldn’t you agree?” a silver-haired man asked as he turned back to face the other individual who is a man with unkempt, bluish black hair.

The other man gave a slight chuckle before responding, “You could say that. Although…. I really don’t have much to discuss with you.”

“My, my, you don’t have to be so cold with me. You know, I’ve always had this wish that I could fight alongside the legendary Ichigo Kurosaki. You probably think it’s a stupid wish, don’t you?”

“No…. Actually, it’s a pretty fine wish you’ve got, but Ichigo Kurosaki lived millennia ago. There’s no way that kind of wish could come true.”

“True, but there’s no harm in wishing. Hmm, if you think about it, during the time when Ichigo Kurosaki was still alive, it was pretty chaotic. I’m the type to enjoy more tranquil times. Maybe my wish is not so great after all hmm?”

“Well everybody has there own likes and dislikes. You know, I bet you that Takeda would have a hell of a time in that time period.”

Upon hearing that, the silver-haired man chuckled, “How true…. But alas, that time is over, and we shouldn’t dwell within it.”

“Oh how time has passed us by huh….?”

Within the early hours of the day, the captains of the Gotei 13 prepared to assemble for a meeting. A young captain, reminiscent to the famous Toshiro Hitsuguya, was in his quarters preparing to leave. The young captain opened the sliding door and walked outside. He stared towards the bright, blue sky and gave a sigh.

“I shouldn’t worry but-”

“Oooh Captain Kitatsu,” a rather upbeat and familiar voice interrupted the young captain who knew all too well who was calling out to him. It was his lieutenant, a voluptuous young woman with an upbeat attitude named Shiori Usagi. Shiori approached Kitatsu and gave him quite the hug. Kitatsu struggled for relief and finally was able to release himself from her hold.

Kitatsu took a brief moment to regain his breath while he was at the same time coughing. “What are you trying to do Shiori, kill me?! Knock it off would you, this is inappropriate behavior!” Kitatsu comically scolded, apparent by the vein that had popped up on his forehead.

“Jeez Captain, you don’t have to get shy with me. Look at how cute you are, wearing your itsy-bitsy captain uniform,” Shiori teased as she performed some hand gestures to fit the moment.

“Cute?! Why I ought to strip you of your position as lieutenant!”

“Strip? Oh, naughty.”

Upon hearing Shiori’s response, Kitatsu began to blush madly. “Gah! Th-That’s not what I meant! I don’t have time to fool around with you Shiori. I have a meeting to attend.” With that, Kitatsu disappeared using shunpo.

“Aww, know I have no one to fool around with. I guess it’s back to paperwork for me. Oh well, no use in complaining since I’ll have to finish by tomorrow anyways.” Shiori then left, going towards her own office.

Suddenly, behind the wall of Kitatsu’s office, the silver-haired man appeared with a smirk on his face. “Well…. I guess I shouldn’t be sticking around here for too long. Don’t want to be late to the meeting,” the man said before disappearing with a flash.

At the assembly hall within the 1st Division barracks, all of the captains have gathered for the meeting, all except for one that is. Kitatsu gazed towards the entrance of the assembly hall. “(What is taking Nagakai so long to arrive here?)” Kitatsu thought to himself.

The captain with unkempt, bluish black hair gave a yawn as he scratched the back of his head in boredom. “Damn, how much longer do I need to wait until Nagakai gets here? I wanna take a nap already,” the captain muttered quietly to himself.

All of the captains had their own individual look on their faces. Some were calm, some were impatient, and some were downright half asleep. Just then, Captain Nagakai, the silver-haired man, enter the assembly hall with the same smirk on his face, a smirk that could be compared to Gin Ichimaru’s famous smirk.

“Sorry that I’m late. I had a bit of a distraction. It won’t happened again,” Nagakai explained to the Captain-Commander and the other captains before taking his place in the row of captains.

“Since this is your first offence without a justified reason as to why you are late, I will be lenient and let it go. Hopefully you will not allow anymore distractions to prevent you from arriving on time and keeping your fellow captains waiting. Very well, now that all of the captains of the Gotei 13 have assembled, we can begin the meeting,” the Captain-Commander proclaimed with a proud, bellowing voice.
Chapter 2 – False Emotions with a Black Chandelier

“I have a question for Captain Nanto, Captain-Commander,” a captain with medium-length blonde hair proclaimed as he looked towards Captain-Commander Hashimoto.

“Very well Captain Kurosawa, you may proceed with your question,” Hashimoto responded.

Captain Nanto is the captain of the 12th Division and is also the president of the Shinigami Research and Development Institute. He is a rather distinguished figure amongst the captains due to his strange appearance. He is fully wrapped in bandages from head to toe, except for one spot on his head which has dark brown hair protruding from it. Captain Nanto is also known for the way he talks which is basically whispering that is loud enough to be audible.

“What is it Captain Kurosawa?” Nanto asked in his whisper.

“Well you see, my men have been complaining about the fact that your modified Hollows are rather stronger than usual. Because of this, some of men have been injured during their daily training routines. Would you care to explain?”

“Sheesh, who gives a crap if they’re strong?! That’ll just make training better! In fact, after this meeting, I’ll have all of my men go over there and start demolishing those damn Hollows! HAH! Kurosawa, haven’t you thought about the fact that your men are complete weaklings and that’s why they got injured so easily?!” Takeda proclaimed in an arrogant manner.

“What? You wanna take this outside Takeda?” Kurosawa asked as he gripped of his zanpakuto’s handle.

“Heh, and here I was thinking you’re too much of a weakling to ask. C’mon let’s go! I’ll wipe the flo-”

“Captain Kurosawa, I can assure you that it won’t happen again. You see I was testing a new invention when something had malfunctioned. Maybe I’d miscalculated…. Send your men my dearest apologies,” Nanto interrupted Takeda to explain the matter.

“I see…. Thank you for your answer Captain Nanto,” Kurosawa replied.

“Hey, the hell you interrupted me for Nan-”

“That’s enough! Now, we will continue with the meeting,” Hashimoto bellowed.

Takeda simply crossed his arms and formed an irritated expression on his face. Nagakai’s smirk widened a bit out of entertainment for what he had just witnessed. Kitatsu watched on calmly, though his face did showed signs that he felt the argument that had just occurred to be a rather waste of time. Out of all of the captains present, Captain Kyoku Kuchiki of the 6th Division was the most calm. He simply stood there with his eyes closed, not showing one bit of a change in emotion when the argument occurred.

Hashimoto cleared his throat and began to speak, “Now, I’ve called you all here to discuss an important matter with you. Recently, there have been quite a few disturbances within the Seireitei. I, of course, am speaking of the rather frequent appearances of Gillian-class Menos. As you may know, these occurrences have begun since four days ago. At first we thought these occurrences were little more than coincidences, but due to the number of times these situations have occurred over the past four days, it is safe to say that there is another logic behind these occurrences. All Divisions must now be on high alert in the case of the appearances of more Gillians. Captain Masao Nanto of the 12th Division, Captain Yusuke Iyusaka of the 5th Division, and Captain Hiraku Midorame of the 8th Division. I am giving you three and your respective Divisions the duty of investigating this manner. Do I make myself clear?”

“Yes Captain-Commander Sir,” Iyusaka responded.

“Sure, no problem,” Midorame said as he gave a yawn and scratched the back of his head.

“It will be completed with the uttermost care,” Nanto responded.

Outside, a large Garganta ripped open in the clear blue sky above. Due to its placement, one could describe it as a black chandelier. Suddenly, ten Gillian-class Menos appeared from the large Garganta. Inside the assembly hall, the sounds of the Gillians could be heard.

“What? More Gillians have appeared?” Iyusaka said as he turned his direction to face the outside where he saw the large Hollows roaming about.

Kyoku Kuchiki simply watched calmly and then closed his eyes once again, “They shouldn’t be too difficult to handle for a Captain....” Kuchiki said.

“Captain Toru Kitatsu and Captain Masaru Takeda. You two will take care of the problem outside, and do it quickly. We want to avoid as much damage as possible,” Hashimoto commanded.

“No problem, I can take them out by myself if I needed to!” Takeda yelled as he used shunpo to head towards the Gillians from outside.

Without another word, Kitatsu also used shunpo to disappeared and head towards the Gillians while the other captains watched from inside. Nagakai continued to display his smirk as he watched on as the two captains continued onwards towards the Gillians.

Kitatsu appeared alongside Takeda, getting ever closer to the Gillians, “Hey Kitatsu, those four Gillians heading towards the far left are yours alright?! I’ll take out the rest of the ugly bastards here!” Takeda proclaimed as he unsheathed his zanpakuto.

“Very well,” Kitatsu responded as he switched directions towards the three Gillians to the far left.
Chapter 3 – Off To My Banquet

The Gillians began to wander around the facilities of the Seireitei. Their only goal is to cause as much destruction as possible. Many of the Shinigami from the 9th Division are beginning to arrive to the area to hopefully destroy some of the Gillians. However, they knew that their captain is arriving and so they decided to wait instead. They gathered to the tops of the corridors to make sure that they’ll be able to strike in case if the Gillians are going to attack. However, strangely enough, the Gillians were rather just passively wandering around.

This came as a surprise to the Shinigami as the Gillians who had invaded before were usually causing all sorts of destruction upon their arrival. Each member of the 9th Division who are present are eagerly wanting to boast their skills in combat, but all of them had great admiration for their captain so none of them dare to attack.

Takeda arrive on the scene with zanpakuto in hand, ready to chop the heads off of every one of these Gillians in his path. Takeda rest his zanpakuto onto his shoulder and form his mouth into a huge grin, “Damn, do I feel bad for you six. You picked the wrong spot to pop your ugly faces up, ‘cause now I’m going to cut all of you to ribbons,” Takeda proclaimed with an overflowing sense of smug confidence emanating from his voice.

Now that their captain had finally arrived on the scene, the Shinigami of the 9th Division cheer with great enthusiasm. Takeda is a role model to all Shinigami within the 9th Division, mostly because Takeda has established the 9th Division as one of the top Divisions in combat. They also look up to him because of his editorial skills which proved as a massive help to raise the popularity of the Seireitei Communication magazine.

One of the wandering Gillians took notice of Takeda standing on the rooftop of a building. The Gillian let out a loud roar before it attempt to charge up a cero. Takeda notice this right away, which only caused his grin to broaden, “A cero eh? You really think you can kill me with that?”

Within mere milliseconds, Takeda disappear from where he was standing using shunpo and then reappear in front of the Gillian’s face. Takeda then slam his palm into the Gillian’s face with great enough force that the Gillian’s mask cracked upon impact.

“Hado 31: Shakkahō!” Takeda yelled with ferocity. Upon yelling the command, a red ball of energy began forming within the Gillian’s face. It was then fired completely through the Gillian’s face, leaving a large hole and large amounts of smoke to form. The Gillian then fell towards the ground, but before its body could even reach the ground, it began to fade away.

“Heh, pathetic! Like you think you could even stand a chance against me Hollow! Wait that’s right, Gillian-class Hollows like yourself can’t think can you? Heh, even more pathetic!” Takeda said, accompanied by a wild laugh.

Throughout the Seireitei, Takeda is known widely by a nickname given to him by a previous captain of the 9th Division. The nickname given to Takeda is “Sensō no Mōjū (戦争の猛獣) or The Savage Beast of War”. Even within the 11th Division, a Division known widely for being the strongest Division in terms of direct-combat, Takeda is famed and feared for his tenacity and ferocity as a fighter.

Few captains are as good in Zanjutsu as Takeda is. However, there are a few notable captains who surpass Takeda when it comes to Zanjutsu. To name a few, besides the Captain-Commander, there are three individual known to be unsurpassed when it came to Zanjutsu. Those three are Captain Yusuke Iyusaka of the 5th Division, Captain Hiraku Midorame of the 8th Division, and of course, the captain of the 11th Division himself, Captain Kenpachi Maruyama, who succeeded Kenpachi Zaraki to become the 12th Kenpachi within the Kenpachi line.

The other Gillians began to take notice of Takeda, who at the time is still laughing wildly. One of the Gillians began to approach Takeda, and began charging another cero. Takeda then turn his head towards the Gillian without even turning his body around. Takeda’s wide grin now diminish itself into a bored frown, “You damn Hollows never learn do ya? You really think you can even try to charge up a cero when fighting against me?” Takeda asked with a disappointed tone of voice.

Takeda once again use shunpo to disappear from his position. Takeda then reappear in front of the Gillian’s face, and this time around, Takeda took his zanpakuto and impale it through the Gillian’s face with incredible force. Takeda then kicked the handle of his zanpakuto forward, causing the Gillian to slide back towards another Gillian. The first Gillian collided with the second Gillian which then caused Takeda’s zanpakuto to impale through the first Gillian’s head and then into the head of the second one, killing both.

Takeda then appeared in front of his zanpakuto and grabbed it, finally landing onto the rooftop of another building while in the background, the two Gillians fell towards the ground and fade away. Takeda’s lips formed itself into a wide grin again as he turn to face the Shinigami of his division, “Who’s the greatest captain of the Gotei 13?!” Takeda asked as he raised his left fist up into the air. His face showed signs of overflowing confidence and superiority. To the other captains, this trait of Takeda’s is both a virtue and a vice, but of course, Takeda was never the one to care about what others thought of him. Takeda has always been like this ever since his troubled childhood growing up in the West Rukongai District of the Soul Society.

The Shinigami of the 9th Division began to cheer loudly with pride in their voices for their captain. Even within the assembly hall, the cheers of the Shinigami can be heard quite clearly.

“Tsch, he’s rather full of himself. Youngsters these days,” Midorame proclaimed with disdain in his voice as he placed his hand on his forehead and shook his head out of minor disappointment.

Iyusaka gave a calm smile as he heard what Midorame had said about Takeda, “At least he brings hope to the 9th Division. I’m actually pretty fond of his positive attitude. Soul Society’s past has been painted with despair. It’s nice to see such vibrant smiles upon the faces of the Shinigami of the 9th Division,” Iyusaka proclaimed with sincerity in his voice.

“I have to agree with you on that, Captain,” Nagakai said as he turned to face Iyusaka, “the boy is just rallying the other Shinigami’s spirits is all. We shouldn’t blame him for doing it in such a boastful manner,” Nagakai explained to Midorame, keeping the grin on his face.

Back on the lower parts of the Seireitei, the last three Gillians are now approaching towards Takeda due to the commotion he caused while killing the other three Gillians. Takeda direct his attention towards the last three Gillians and began scratching the back of his head out of sheer boredom, “Damn it, I was actually looking forward to a tougher challenge, but I guess the only thing Gillians are good for is for training the lower ranked Shinigami. Oh well, guess I’ll see this as a way to stretch my muscles after having to stand in a roll while listening to the Old Geezer yapping.”

Takeda gave a disappointed sigh before moving towards the last three Gillians. With zanpakuto in hand, Takeda easily finished off the last three Gillians by slicing their heads off.

Takeda landed onto one of the rooftops, where he was then approached by a crowd of Shinigami under his control. “That was awesome Captain Takeda!” “Yeah, you fought amazingly,” two Shinigami praised excitedly.

Just then, a Shinigami with dark red hair approached the front of the crowd. The Shinigami is wearing a Lieutenant Badge with the 9th Division insignia as well as noticeable prayer beads on his left wrist. “Captain Takeda, are you alright Sir?” the Shinigami asked in a worried tone.

“Heh, you don’t have to worry about me Ryunosuke, I’m tough as a rock. I’m known as Sensō no Mōjū! You really think a bunch of weak Gillians can hurt me?” Takeda responded with confidence.

Ryunosuke Miura, the lieutenant of the 9th Division, is a rather reserved man. He has a kind heart and worries about almost everybody within the 9th Division, especially his captain due to the fact that Takeda is so reckless. Ryunosuke is also quite spiritual. He never refers to slaying a Hollow as “killing”, but rather “purifying” it. Ryunosuke, after “purifying” a Hollow, will take time to pray for the Hollow he had just “purified”. Takeda views Ryunosuke’s mannerism as rather annoying and a waste of time, but even so, Takeda does care for his lieutenant.

Ryunosuke bowed apologetically to Takeda, “I apologize for my unneeded concern Captain. I’ll be sure to have more faith in your abilities,” Ryunosuke said as he rose back up.

“Ahh forget it! No need to apologize for something like that Ryunosuke. I won’t hold a grudge against you,” Takeda responded. His voice showed signs of hidden annoyance, but also misguided gentleness at the same time. Takeda never was the kind of person to know how to say things in a polite way.

Kitatsu had now arrived on the far side of the Seireitei. He unsheathed his zanpakuto with seriousness shown on his face, quite different from Takeda. Kitatsu placed his zanpakuto vertically resting on his back, ready to take out the four Gillians as quickly as possible. “Shoot through the heavens, Nagareboshi (流れ星 Lit. Shooting Star)….”

Chapter 4 – Sneer at my Crescendo[~Scorn upon your Throne~]

“Shoot through the heavens, Nagareboshi!” Kitatsu shouted. Golden yellow reiatsu started to flare brightly around Kitatsu as his Shikai is being released. The Gillians took notice of the powerful reiatsu and turned their bodies to face Kitatsu. After the flare had diminished, Kitatsu stood there calmly with his Nagareboshi resting on his back.

Nagareboshi is a rather large Shikai. Upon being released, Nagareboshi takes the form of a large broadsword with the lower part of the sword and the tip being covered by a huge star with arrow-tip points. Nagareboshi, compared to most zanpakuto, is a rather large weapon. It is surprising that Kitatsu can wield it with such ease.

“My, my, he doesn’t waste time, does he?” Nagakai asked as he observed the release of Kitatsu’s zanpakuto. The way Nagakai talks always seem to have a sense of sarcasm and mocking politeness in his words. Nagakai crossed his arms and continued his attentive watch on Kitatsu. His face showed signs of interest at the young captain along with his massive zanpakuto.

“That’s Toru for you…. He’s always been that kind of person. The kind that doesn’t take risks,” a voice came from behind Nagakai. The voice came from Yusui Tarumori, the captain of the 2nd Division and also the prominent Commander-in-Chief of the Onmitsukidō. Tarumori is also quite young in age like Kitatsu, however, Tarumori is older than Kitatsu. Tarumori is also quite good friends with Kitatsu, having been like an older brother to Kitatsu since their childhood.

“Ohhh, but that sounds just like you Yusui, oops, I mean Captain Tarumori,” Nagakai replied as he turned to face Tarumori.

“It’s fine if you call me Yusui, Captain Nagakai. I don’t really mind at all,” Tarumori responded in a calm manner as he walked over to where Nagakai is standing at. “Toru doesn’t want to see any harm done to the Seireitei. That’s why he’s using his Shikai. To finish the battle as fast as he can,” Tarumori explained as he watched Kitatsu.

“That’s pretty noble of him hmm? The same can’t be said for Captain Takeda. He’s a rather rash person, and who knows, maybe his rashness will lead to his downfall if he’s not careful. Wouldn’t you agree Captain Tarumori?” Nagakai asked as he glanced at Tarumori.

“I believe I’m not in a position to judge others Captain Nagakai. You must understand, my duties are clear to me, and my duties do not involve being a judge of people’s character,” Tarumori responded as he closed his eyes in deep thought. “(Even so…. I must agree that your sneer is convincing….)” Tarumori thought to himself.

Down below, Kitatsu looked upon the Gillians who were approaching him with calm and focused eyes. As the Gillians advanced closer and closer, Kitatsu leaped highly into the air and raised Nagareboshi over his head, “Tsuirakuboshi (落下星 Lit. Falling Star)!” Kitatsu shouted as the large star on Nagareboshi started to glow intensely in a golden yellow color. Kitatsu then slashed Nagareboshi downwards and a huge yellow, star projectile, launched from Nagareboshi, headed towards the Gillians.

The star projectile curved in its trajectory and was able to cleanly cut through the heads of each Gillian. As the Gillians faded away, so too did the star projectile shatter into bright, shining stardust.

Kitatsu sheathed his zanpakuto as it returned to its sealed state. Kitatsu closed his eyes for a moment and exhaled calmly. Kitatsu then reopened his eyes and used shunpo to head back towards the assembly hall.

“Hey enough about apologizing and all, we should all celebrate with drinks and food!” a Shinigami with short black hair and large sideburns rejoiced.

“Heh, that’s a great idea! Alright Boys let’s go!” Takeda responded to the idea with excitement.

Just then, Ryunosuke noticed Kitatsu overhead, heading back to the assembly hall. Ryunosuke then walked towards Takeda, “Captain, don’t you have to go back to the meeting? It’s still in progress you know,” Ryunosuke pleaded as he walked besides Takeda.

“Jeez Ryunosuke, stop being such a buzz kill would ya? I bet you the Old Geezer will probably disband the meeting after what just happened. Besides, it’s not like he’ll have much left to say anyways,” Takeda responded in a slightly annoyed tone.

“But Captain-”

“Look Ryunosuke, I don’t wanna hear your damn preaching right now alright? You’re giving me a headache with all of your talk. Now you either come with us or go away, got it?” Takeda stopped and said. It was quite apparent to Ryunosuke that Takeda wasn’t going to listen to reason.

“Ugh, yes Captain,” Ryunosuke responded reluctantly.

Takeda could tell that Ryunosuke was reluctant and a bit depressed. However, being Takeda, he didn’t have the slightest clue of what to say to cheer Ryunosuke up a bit, and he was not going to return to the meeting either. “Ahh whatever, let’s go!” Takeda shouted to the other Shinigami and then walked off towards their Division Barracks.

Kitatsu arrived back at the assembly hall where he was greeted by Tarumori and Nagakai, “Well, that was quite amazing work you did back there Captain Kitatsu,” Nagakai complimented as he walked over towards Kitatsu.

“Thank you Captain Nagakai. Yusui, has anything happened here while I was gone?” Kitatsu asked curiously.

“Don’t worry Toru, nothing has happened. By the way, it seems as though Takeda has taken his leave,” Tarumori said as he pointed to Takeda walking away with the large group of Shinigami following him.

“I would imagine that Lieutenant Miura would attempt to convince Captain Takeda to return to the meeting, but knowing Takeda, that’s like telling him to go take a nap while a war is being fought,” Nagakai explained.

“Well in any case, we should get back to the meeting at hand,” Kitatsu said as he walked towards the roll of captains.

“No need, it looks like we can leave now,” Kurosawa said as he pointed to the Captain-Commander who has fallen asleep in his chair.

“Captain Midorame is also faring the same as Captain-Commander Hashimoto,” Iyusaka said as he pointed to Midorame who is also asleep.

Both Hashimoto and Midorame snored loudly at the same time with a large bubble coming out from their nostrils while the other captains simply stood there amazed at how they could be asleep at the moment.
Chapter 5 – Time to watch The Moon

Within his office, Kitatsu was finishing filling out the documents that were supposed to be Shiori’s responsibility. Shiori, instead, is sleeping peacefully on the couch inside her own office. This is not the first time that Kitatsu have had to do something like this, and Kitatsu has scolded her many times before, but it seems it was to avail. However, Kitatsu didn’t really mind filling out the documents. He actually views it as a time for peaceful thinking.

“There, finally the last of the documents,” Kitatsu said as he placed his stamp of approval onto the document. Kitatsu calmly stood up from his chair and walked over to his window. Kitatsu glared outside into the sky. The sky today was particularly cloudless. It was just a big field of blue. Kitatsu’s face began to show signs of uncertainty and a maybe even a bit of depression.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, “Come in,” Kitatsu casually said as he turned around to face the door.

Shiori stumbled inside in a drunken manner. A lot of her cleavage was showing, and her Shinigami robe almost slid off of her. This came to Kitatsu as a very unwelcome surprise as his face turned slightly red and there was a sweat drop on his forehead.

“WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING SHIORI?! GET OUT!” Kitatsu shouted quite loudly, enough so to caught the attention of other Shinigami of the 10th Division. Kitatsu quickly closed his eyes and pushed Shiori all the way back to her office. After closing her door, Kitatsu raced back to his office and slammed his door shut, locking it at the same time. Kitatsu leaned against the door for a few seconds, heavily panting as his blushing subsided.

Within her office, Shiori sat on the ground with a drunk and clueless face, “W-Wait a minute, didn’t I need to tell the Captain something? Oh well, back to sleep,” Shiori said in a drunken manner as she fell face first onto the floor.

Within the Shinigami Research and Development Institute, Nanto was busily checking the reiatsu residue left by the Gillians who had invaded the Seireitei. The lab Nanto was in was quite dark with very dim lights. Even so, there was a really bright light coming from Nanto’s workspace. The light came from a reiatsu analyzer that Nanto was using to scan the residue.

Within another part of the institute, Iyusaka and Midorame were checking on some old documents concerning frequent Hollow appearances within the Seireitei in the past three millennia. Iyusaka took some documents and walked over to a table where he sat down and began to read the information. Iyusaka was busier then Midorame who was rather slacking off rather than actually working.

“Hey Yusuke, you found any important information yet?” Midorame asked in a bored and tired tone of voice as he slumped onto a nearby chair.

“No, I’m afraid I haven’t found anything substantial to the investigation. How about you Hiraku, have you found anything yet?” Iyusaka asked as he kept his eyes on the document he was reading.

“Please, like you expect me to find something worth looking into. This detective work isn’t cut out for a guy like me. If you want me to write poetry or play some music I’ll be able to handle that no problem, but this…. This is just something I’m not good at,” Midorame explained tiredly as he fixed his eyes at the ceiling.

Iyusaka gave an amused chuckle as he heard what Midorame said, “Is that so? Or is it that you’re just too lazy to do it?” Iyusaka asked even though he knew what the answer would be.

Midorame only formed a calm smile on his face without responding. He continued to look towards the ceiling while in deep thought. Iyusaka continued with reading the documents he had picked out from the numerous files within this part of the institute.

Within the various buildings of the 1st Division Barracks, a building in particular stood out from the rest. Loud yelling could be heard emanating from the establishment. The building is the location of lieutenant meetings. From within, the lieutenants of the Gotei 13 were having their daily arguments.

“I already told you that there is no such thing as a mask-less Hollow!” a young man with messy orange red hair shouted as he stood up and slammed his left hand onto the table.

“Well I already told you Kuji that I saw one with my own damn eyes you bonehead!” a young man with flat spiky, black hair responded as he too, repeated the same actions.

“Bonehead?! You wanna start something Shueiji, ‘cause I’ll be willing to oblige,” Kuji responded in an irritated tone, though the loudness of his voice has reduced.

A confident smile formed on Shueiji’s face as he gripped his zanpakuto with his right hand, “Heh, well then bring it on bonehead,” Shueiji responded with a calm anger emanating from his voice.

“Yo, can you two bozos shut yo damn holes? I’m tryin’ to fall asleep ya fools,” a really large, dark-skinned man with black hair said as he peered at the two with tired and irritated eyes.

“WHAT?! WHY DON’T YOU JUST BUTT OUT OF IT DŌMARU!” the two shouted loudly at the same time. Both of them appeared to be angered by Dōmaru’s interruption, apparent by the vein on their foreheads.

In the Captain-Commander’s office, Nanto had arrived to report the progress of the investigation. “Well Captain-Commander Hashimoto…. It appears as though what I have found is rather,” Nanto whispered and then gave a quick pause, “surprising….”

“How so?” Hashimoto asked calmly though his voice had a sense of curiosity in it. His curiosity was also made apparent as he opened his right eye widely.

“You see…. The residue I’ve analyzed had two types of reiatsu, one reiatsu signature is from the Gillian that the residue came from, and the other reiatsu signature is from that of a Shinigami,” Nanto explained.

“A Shinigami?” Hashimoto asked as the news sparked his curiosity even more.

“Indeed, and not any regular Shinigami either, but a Shinigami whose reiatsu level is around that of a captain. What’s more, the reiatsu is not from any of the current Gotei 13 captains. Thus meaning, these Gillians who have often appeared may have some relations to a Shinigami or several…. It was unfortunate that we didn’t collect the reiatsu residue from previous encounters with the Gillians…. I could’ve gain more insight into this subject,” Nanto continued explaining in his monotonous whisper.

“I see…. Is there anything you propose we should do in order to further the research?” Hashimoto asked as he leaned back into his chair.

“Well…. There is one thing….” Nanto responded.

Hashimoto’s eyes widened upon hearing Nanto. The Captain-Commander was tuned to listen to Nanto’s idea on what they should do to help further the investigation.

A slashing sound emanated from an abandoned warehouse located at a secluded part of Ishitani Town, a small town bordering Karakura Town. It was now nighttime in the Living World and today in particular, the moon was shining rather adamantly and beautifully. Within the warehouse, a young man of about twenty-six or so with straight black hair with a large strand of hair styled back on the top of his head was standing there with a zanpakuto in his hand.

He was wearing a black, leather jacket with cream-colored fur trimmings, a dark red shirt with the stylized words “Mad Street” written vertically in white on the left side of the shirt, dark-colored, baggy trousers, and a silver chain with a skull attached to his brown buckle belt. The man had a calm and mockingly confident expression amplified by the moonlight.

“I guess it didn’t well too well this time around huh?” a young male’s voice emanated from the shadows of the deeper part of the warehouse.

“No, it didn’t, but at least it was an improvement,” the man answered calmly.

Back in the Captain-Commander’s office, Nanto looked at the Captain-Commander to tell him what needed to be done, “Send some Shinigami to the Living World….” Nanto said.
Wow.... Is my fan-fic really that bad???
I wouldn´t neccesarely say it is bad since it acctually shows a slight ammount of potential.

It just needs polish.

The biggest issue I could find is that currently, It lacks a lot of details and descriptions on many points that would help build the scenery and characters, something that in turn often makes the rest of the dialogue and events seem kindof forced.

The narrative switches from past to present on a few points, which in itself is not that big deal but it still helps decrease the quality of a written work.

Many of the original characters are pulled of pretty nicely regarding appearance, those where the appearance is revealed, but their personalities are much to simmilar to the canon characters they are replacing, thereby loosing some rights to be called original, in my opinion.

When the situation is explained (the part about the Gillians frequently appearing in Seireitei), the "As you know" speech is very frowned upon and an over all bad way to explain background of the story since it mostly makes it look a forced and dumb dialogue.

I´ll try to keep myself uppdated for more chapters.
If the previously mentioned points are mentioned, this could turn out realy good.

Okay, I'm going to review the first part that needs more. It looks the same way as Foe Fiction, but this has potential, so if you revise and edit it would become a diamond.

So far there's a balanced amount of adjectives.

It's around here that most press the red x-button, the mortal enemy of fan fics. Of course the mention of Ichigo Kurosaki can be a bit surprising, but there's nothing inbetween dialogue. At least add "the man had a tone of resignation in his dry voice" or something.

Most of what I wanted to say was already said by Lazaruz. Keep up! I think its plot is nice enough.

I think it's really good, and I don't have anything to really add to what the other two reviewers said (The pretty much hit the nail on the head), especially about the part of their mannorisms(sp?) match those of the captains they replaced. While I personally don't mind that at all, others may think it boring and feels as though it brings nothing knew to the already established steriotype for the squads. (Do you understand what Im trying to say?)

I love the chapters though. XD

I´m going to make this short.

I can see that you are already improving with your writing and the ending on chapter 4 was quite funny :).

This will probably sound naggy or douchy but I´m still a little iffy (if that is the right word) that it is lacking details on some points (though it is paying up for it with character interactions, a good and worthy switch)

(This is likely a realy unfair assumption) Though most of us reading this are likely fans of the anime and/or manga and knows how most of the scenery and creatures would look like, imagine a viewer that reads this is semi-blind towards the original. (They know loose details how most of the things are supposed to look like)
It´s a technique I often use while writing fanfics and a tip I´d like to give since it would improve this immensely in my opinion if that part was fixed.

The action scenes in chapter 3, though I´m not a fan of it, I´ll let that slide since action is very hard, close to impossible, to describe action scenes in a good written way unless you are very experienced in writing (mostly proffesional authors would likely match that).
This I know for a fact.

Thanks for the comments Lazarus, yeah I'm still improving on my writing skills, this is barely the second time I attempted to write a fan-fic, I'll be sure to add in more details and I'll try better on action scenes though the battle with the Gillians isn't really any big fight though
