7zip < crap
Platypus > crap
Winrar > Platypus

To SuM It Up: Winrar > 7zip OR
Winrar Pwnz 7zip
Anyways Winrar can extract a larger variety of files, like .iso (IMG) files, which is something that 7zip can't do (as far as I know).

Yeah, well, between the Firefox and Chrome debaters.

Firefox is a pretty good browser with lots of knickknacks and doodads, but it's been beaten into the ground now.

And Chrome is only good for its speed.

both 7zip and winrar can open up .iso

both 7zip and winrar should NOT be used for opening up .iso (either use daemon tool or burn it)

Firefox, Chrome, and Opera are all preference. Whatever you used the most is better. Chrome is by default faster but uses up more memory than firefox and fire fox uses more memory than opera however opera is the slowest of the 3.

BUT. . .These speed buffs are negligent and barely noticeable and it's your computer, plugins, and internet speed not your browser. A browser is just that...A browser.
===============
Most anti-viruses are good but if you play a lot of games avoid aviera, macafee, and sometimes Norton since they have a lot of false negatives.(Norton is the least annoying about it.) Just get ANY anti-virus unless it is a business computer and you believe you'll be fine without it.

Things to download, well I don't know what you generally do so here's some generalization.
- Media player (my preference: Zune)
- All your drivers
- An anti-virus program
- Malwarebytes
- Flash/Java updates
- Greasemonkey if you're using firefox

Pretty much this, except I use PowerISO which is pretty neat too.

There are more reasons to avoid Norton than just false negatives. :P

VLC is pretty much required, it's the best video player there is IMO, and Winamp is pretty good for music although to be honest I've been fine with using Windows Media Player for most things.

Greasemonkey is cool and it has several good uses, but is it really necessary?
