The D.M.
The term for this is "tech".You would "tech" a card to see how it plays in a specific deck, regardless of what people think. It would be like me teching a Lava Golem in my Scraptown Keepers.dekLava Golem would lead to dead draws, obviously, but would make for hilarious combos with Scrap/Twin DragonExpanded Vocabulary for the yay. Great Unclean One: VK
Fusions: Shitty version of synchros. Rituals: Shitty versions of synchros. Kuriboh: Shitty version of Battle Fader. Wicked Eraser: Ultimate bomb for Mystic Wok. Plus with tokens, it's awesome. Doom Shaman: Crappy version of Gigaplant, only it gets Fiends such as a used Gorz, Greed Quasar, Belial, and the horrid such, but hey, inb4icreatefiendvillage Dark Core: A tribute of the doom but with a slimer target selection. But hey, it RFP. E-Hero Malicious Fiend: Goddam it Flandre! Odin: Harder and much less rewarding version of Thor. D.D.S + Mau: -1000 LP for a LV. Why that when you could always use Dark Hole? Yubel: Slow and crappy. In YGO, if a card can't be fast, give advantage, or do anything to f*** over your Opponent in the cheapest way possible, it's s*** and won't be played. Usually. But I use crappy decks since it's more fun then decks with auto-pilot in them. But others prefer auto-pilot decks since they get wins. And wins is all that matter. Not how you play the game, or the experience, just winning. It's just like business. Pay the workers hardly anything, give them no benifits, treat them as if they aren't human, and reap the rewards for selling shitty, cheap, and abundant products that harm the customer in the long or short run. Plus, if needed, kill people to advance. Anyhow, people (usually those who don't give a damn about anything but how good something is and how they could win easily with no need of effort) will usually forego having fun in the whole duel and just have fun in winning, knowing that they have achieved something. Thus, having ACTUALLY done something and winning instead of doing something and losing. Plus, it's Konami way of making money. They don't give a s*** about the game, except for making few cards that give benefits, and expecting the diehard fans to drop their shitty cards, buy the new one, wait a while, make a new powerful card, and then repeat. All the while the fans will say how shitty the old cards compare even the ones they had for a while. Look at LS and then BW. Hell, in the future, I bet there will be cards that allow you to special summon 2 beatsticks from your hand just because you have no monsters. Or perhaps a nuke that destroys your Opponet's deck at the cost of 2000 LP.

No goddam attachments. Now onward with my mindless ranting. Cards such as Cydra, which doesn't promote skill and no set up, are mostly liked due to it's simplistic nature and it's easy to use nature. They were commonly sought since they provide free stuff such as beatsticks.
