LIGHT/Spellcaster/Excess/Effect/6/1500/2200
When this card is Exceed Summoned, place 2 Spellstone counters on this card. Each time another Monster Card's effect is activated, place 1 Spellstone counter on this card. This card gains 300 ATK for each Spellstone counter on it. You can remove a number of Spellstone counters from your side of the field to select 1 monster your opponent controls with a Level equal to the number of Spellstone counters removed. The selected monster loses ATK equal to the number of this card's overlaid monsters x 500 until the End Phase. If this monster attacked this turn, return this card to the deck at the End Phase and return the overlaid cards to their original positions to distribute 2 Spellstone counters amongst a card(s) you control.

See the Synergy within this card with Karood and their Powersink Stone. :P Epic Lulz.

Tell me what you think! i hope you enjoy.

This card was created as a User Card for the member Legend Zero! He simply asked for it to be a Level 6 Excess Spellcaster. this is what was created.

Till next time... ;)

Rather complex sounding for an Excess monster. Definitly original and creative. The maximum ATK decrease would be 1500 and a minimum of 1000. It starts with 2 Counters and gains 1 with every monster card effect activated. So it's ATK to start is 2100. It's similar to....What was it. Oh! Magical Exemplar! Only for this card, you don't SS a monster whose Level is equal to the number of removed counters, you select it. It's quite a heavy power lose but it's by no means OP. You either need 2 Level 3 monsters or 3 Level 2 monsters to Excess Summon this. Shame it only gains the 2 when it's Excess Summoned ):. The bounce effect is good but is it necessary? I suppose it may be but I'd suggest it being optional. Since it's great move because now you can Summon the 2 Karoods used in the Excess Summon and they've instantly gotten their SpellStones. It's a very good card in which I can see being played in a Deck centering Karood. Exceptionally powerful, playable as well. :3 I like it alot! I think this may be trophie worthy.

I went a bit overboard.. i didn't like the amount of sentences, but when i was reviewing it i couldn't figure out anything to take away. :|

I thought so. :D it would be fun to screw over your opponent this way... which seems to be the initial theme of the spellstone cards.

I thought about making it optional, but i want it to be a necessary effect. It makes you have to plan ahead, figure out what to do next. I didn't want this to be a trump card.. =]

Well, thank you so much! i appreciate that a lot. =]

Btw, i think i am going to change the counter removal to the field, instead of just the one monster. I was thinking about it, and chances are its effect won't give it enough power to become effective until it was bounced back to the deck. :|

EDIT: i changed this before waiting for a response. It makes the card more versatile, and it still isn't too powerful because of its mandatory bounce. ;)

Actually this does make it tons more versitile. Now it'll be much easier to achieve. Not only that but before it felt like you would need to use 2 Karood's to Excess Summon this but just using 2 other cards you can just have this card bounced back and place the Spellstones on any Karood on he field, keeping in mind that it's 1 Spellstone per Karood.

Or Powersink Stone. Don't forget that. Since it's counters are removed during the End Phase, add them back with this card's effect. Since the ruling on the End Phase is that the Turn Player chooses the times at which the effects resolve, you remove the counters because of its own effect, then add them back because of this card's effect. Effect lockdown to the opponent?

EDIT: nvm, i just read up on the rulings. My strategy would not work. Drat.

That means i have to make another card for this to pair with. :P

Woot! This card just made Powerstones Playable!

Nvm, read the edit. :|
Powersink Stone’s effect to remove its Spellstone Counters can activate multiple times during the End Phase if monster effects continue to place Counters on it

I feel obligated to post, since you posted in the Showcase thread. ;D

Although I was initially sadden by the idea of Spellstones instead of counters, I have to say the new season and the introduction of Excess monsters has given me hope for more/better support. This card is exactly what I'd want in a card. It's usable now, and probably abuse-able in the future. Thanks for the swap and KIU.

KIU? Is this "forum lingo" that I missed in my absence? Or am I too tired? =]

I originally wanted to do spell counters too, but there were no real level 2 or 3 Spellcasters that I could see in a Spell Counter deck that would allow this monster an easy summon. So spellstone counters were an instant second. ;)

I'm glad you like the card. It only gives me hope on my future creations. =]

A very good card, as before I love the Japanese writing and the picture...
I think it's pretty balanced too.
The one this bothering me is the not-so-originality of the effect...
I can't be sure, but isn't it kind of stolen from Dark Red Enchanter?

Oh, thanks Zero! =]

Sotos: I didn't have Dark Red Enchanter in mind when i made the card, but the only similarity is the ATK increase.. Which a lot of Spellcasters have. Like Breaker..
I'm glad you commented on this though! That means a lot to me. =] I think this one was well balanced too..

Thanks, I really liked your cards so far, but the similarity with DRE isn't just the ATK increase...
They both get 2 counters upon being summoned
They both get another counter when a certain requirement is met (Effect / Spell activation)
Their ATK is increased depending on thei counters
They can activate an effect by removing a counter...

Still, if you say you didn't have it in mind, then it's a really useful and balanced effect...

I can see the parallel that you are trying to draw, but i guess i subconsciously drew the game mechanic from DRE and the other magicians that are similar. ;) The effect part is the original part..

Anywho, thank you for pointing that out. I will watch out next time i use counters for effects.
