Dark Hole

Recommended Posts

It gives +1s for litterally putting a card on a playmat. It can easily played in such a way that it becomes a Rageki.
It can give tremendous field advantage to decks.

For example, say you've got Boggart, Pashuul, Fautroll in hand. They have a field full of monsters, infact, it doesn't even have to be full, say it's an Armour Master, Bora and Shura. They've got Icarus set and Mirror Force, they're in a really solid position right now.

You topdeck the Dark Hole, you go +2, Boggart into Pashuul into Faultroll, go into Hyunlei, blow the backrows, Faultroll brings back either Pashuul for another Synchro or Boggart for extra damage, it doesn't matter. They've litterally blown your field apart.

And don't go hurr durr that was all the Boggart Knight or whatever, because Icarus stops Boggart (there or thereabouts).

And don't give me that crap that it's a floater format, it still allows for easy OTKs.

There are scenarios that happen to get you game with this card, or your opponent. However that has only happened to me a couple of times this format, which isn't a lot considering I play competitively at least once a week (3 times a week in school holidays). Honestly, it hasn't affected my game much at all.

It only gives +1s when you hold the card. You're obviously not going to top deck dark hole all day and get +1s. Playing around losing your monsters is a common example of why it should be kept in. This allows the better player to use cards more effectively, especially when the opponent over extends and doesn't win with "a really solid position."

Bad Players get hurt by Dark Hole a lot more often than Good players. Dark Hole just allows the format to be more aware of the risks when overextending.

That player is bad then. Why would you play Bora and Shura after Armor Master, especially when you have Icarus and Mirror Force? The BW player left him to open to be hurt by Dark Hole. He had 6000 attack on board and still didn't win last turn.
