Ikov
Here we are. I've started an awesome and fun set called Secrets of Nhrai (SoN). It's monsters are all normal monsters but its spell cards are very good. I think it's balanced because it's monsters are, alone, very weak and underpowered, but they are highly-buffed by its large array of spell cards. Many of them involve returning Tarotite monsters back to you hand or deck in order to obtain a significantly useful effect, such as Special Summoning and buffing. I am a strange breed of Perfectionist and would love criticism in order to improve my set so feel free to rate and comment. Without further ado, here is my Secrets of Nhrai set:
She guards sentimentality, romance, sympathy, understanding, and intuition. The Unicorn is a child of the sea - born of foam and restless waves, surging with the wild abandon of the surf. The Northern Knight is her companion on the eternal quest. Her very being is a creative nexus, she is poetry in motion, imagination incarnate. She can dance upon the swells of the ever-shifting, ever-changing seas. He is wise and understanding, and knows the meaning of patience. Like the sea turtles that swim at his side, he guides the way with a steady calm through the ever-shifting uncertainties of the vast ocean depths.

Trustworthy and diligent, she is the bearer of messages, reflection, scholarship, practicality, and effectiveness. Nurture and care of others, generosity, and possessing a warmth of spirit. She is dedicated; a protector, and one who is reliable and trustworthy. The Eastern King bears a seed in his hand. It gleams golden with an inner light, and it pulses as if it contains a heartbeat that speaks with a humble promise to sprout.

Giver of vigilance, honesty and truthfulness. She wields a scrutiny of beliefs and a strong sense of purpose. The Southern Knight is the brave hero who rushes headlong into conflict to defend his beliefs. With her blade, the Southern Queen slices through lies and deceptions to the heart of truth. She is honesty and inner knowledge, sending forth her winged seekers into the world. Like the vertical sword he holds at the ready, he is a pillar of strength and morality. He holds power over life and death. He does not necessarily seek it but his presence invariably spurs rivalry and conflict. The denizens of the forest are drawn out by the singing of the harp. The Western Queen's fingers dance across the strings, and she embraces the tree that is her audience of dryads, her instrument, and her living wand. The Western King is charismatic. The force of his charm is irresistible, such that the very world seems to mold to his desires and bow to his will.

Return 1 "Tarotite" monster on your side of the field to your hand to Special Summon 1 "Tarotite" monster of an equal or lesser level from your deck to the field. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, the ATK of every "Tarotite" monster you control is increased by the original ATK of the "Tarotite" monster with the highest ATK on the field. Return a "Tarotite" monster from your graveyard to your deck and then shuffle your deck. If this card is sent from your hand or field to the graveyard any way other than by activation, Special Summon 1 "Tarotite" monster from your graveyard to the field. This card remains on the field for 3 turns, starting with the turn this card is activated. While this card is face-up on the field, the effects of your opponent's Spell and Trap Cards that designate any "Tarotite" monster(s) is negated. This card can only be equipped to a "Tarotite" monster. Any time the equipped monster battles with an opponent's monster, the opponent's monster is destroyed during the End-Phase of that turn. As long as this face-up card remains on the field, all "Tarotite" monsters that are destroyed as a result of battle are returned to their owner's hand instead. Battle Calculations are applied normally. Special Summon any number of "Tarotite" monsters from your hand or deck to the field. Then sacrifice 1000 Life Points for each monster Special Summoned in this way. Special Summon 1 "Tarotite" monster from your graveyard. During the End-Phase of the turn in which this card is activated, return the monster Special-Summoned by this card to it's owner's hand. Activate this card after a "Tarotite" monster you control is sent to the graveyard as a result of battle. Special Summon 1 "Tarotite" monster from your hand to the field. Return 1 "Tarotite" monster you control on the field to your hand in order to special summon 2 "Tarotite" monsters from your hand to the field. The monster returned to your hand by this effect cannot be one of the monsters Special Summoned. This card can only be activated after a "Tarotite" monster is returned to it's owner's hand. Return up to 2 other monsters on the field to their owner's hand(s). After activation, this card remains on the field for 3 turns. When this card is removed from the field, Special Summon any "Tarotite" monsters that were destroyed as a result of battle while this card was face-up on the field. This card can only be Equipped to a "Tarotite" monster. Every time a "Tarotite" monster is Special-Summoned to your side of the field, increase the Attack of the Equipped Monster by 300.
*I changed the Types of all the Tarotites, putting the word in their name instead of as their type. They are now all a mixture of Spellcasters and Warriors. The Pages and Queens are Spellcasters and the Knights and Kings are Warriors. I still want to give an actual name to each of these monsters, but it seems like, seeing i have to include Tarotite and North/East/South/West/Some other way to distinguish them that I don't really have enough room in their name box. Any suggestions? *Changed the OCG of the spell cards that used Tarotite-type. Eventually I will be changing all "Tarotite" usage to just "Tarot", as all of these cards are designed around Tarot cards.
Lord Doransk
Few pointers to make: 1, its ATK not attack (minor problem, easily fixed), 2, some of the card descriptions could be a little shorter- but most of them are, quite frankly, EPIC, 3, i would only post the spells when you have made the tarot-type monsters, as i can't rate them if i don't know their benefits, and 4, please try never to invent your own card types- just put the word 'Tarotite' into their names instead. Overall, though, this is a very nice collection of vanillas with some great flavour texts, balanced stats and unified pics (i have to disregard the spells on this front, unfortunately!). Impressive work, and well done for your patience. I look foward to seeing the updates later. Score= 7.5/10 (can't overrate non-effect monsters )
Ikov
ah ok, so i can change their types, I wanted to change their names anyway, I thought they were boring. Shorten a few of their descriptions, change Attack to ATK. Should I just make them all Spellcasters or something? idk i guess it doesnt matter what type i make them, but thanks for the advice, i will definitely be adding to the set after i fix these. So lastly I still need to change the Text in the spell cards, but I'm lazy and will do it later. For now, however, I know that I need to change when it says Tarotite-type to simply Tarotite, now that it is no longer a type.
Windfang
I think what he means with the Tarotite name is this. I'm using a lore of one of your cards Original:Return 1 Tarotite-type monster on your side of the field to your hand to Special Summon 1 Tarot-type monster of an equal or lesser level from your deck to the field Revised: Return a "Tarotite" monster on your side of the field to your hand to Special Summon a "Tarotite" monster of equal or lesser level from your Deck to the field. All in all, they are well balanced, this is the first Normal Monster set I've seen that would work in a duel. 8.5/
