Fusion X. Denver
No one on the internet has friends. Merely acquaintances. And friendship isn't having about 15 people anonymously vote for you in a Poll for being in the same club as them. Did you see Fusion X. Denver vs. TheComposer? 19-5 to Fusion and the vast majority of posted votes were for TheComposer. Tell me that is friendship, and not everyone in the same club mindlessly voting like zombie sheep.

Daisuke L. Hirako-Don't care what you say, this dude is my soul brother, a true friend. We've known each other for about a year and we're genuinely friends. NoBeginning-Acquaintances yes, but I suppose he's gotten to know me more because we talked over anime and stuff in one of Shadow's clubs, just guessing Clair-She's really nice and we joke around a lot, and I've been in her Nintendo club for a good while now, I'd say we're friends Andx-An acquaintance, but a cool one at that. He liked my fic and he's given me some good advice before, a cool dude Professor Layton-He's a nice kid and I consider him a friend, we both love Pendragon and Nintendo and we've talked a few times J-Max-Eh...you'd be right that he voted for me because we're both Chibi Knights, but I think he's a cool dude from whenever he posts there, dunno how he feels about me Smesh-This guy's a bud, we bonded in Powerforce and statuses, I think he's funny and he thinks I'm chill I guess? Revolver Amethyst-I actually don't know why he voted me, I'm guessing he either doesn't know Composer well and thought of voting for a fellow Powerforcer or maybe finds me okay? Or maybe he remembers me from YCMthropology where any discussion there was intelligence-based (idk) .31215037926-Guessing he remembers me from Vongola, we haven't talked much, but I thought he was funny Anbu-of-Sand-Don't know this guy well, but we've had intelligent discussion in YCMthropology, which was effective (sorta) while it lasted, I think I said some things there to gain respect from him (not trying to toot my own horn, I just remember getting 3 reps for 1 point I made) and vice-versa BlackSkullCortez-He's my friend from real life, nothing mindless about it .:Overdrive:.-I was a loyal customer? Shadow Zero-We're friends, loled together, RPed together, known each other a while El Make-See Daisuke L. Hirako Itacђi-We're friends from my club, where things are kind of informal sometimes (and he's an informal guy) so we're friends after talking to each other for a while. Plus, he's kind of hated and I'm one of the few that likes the guy so >.> Nexev-Eh, I consider him a friend. Don't know if he feels the same way, but I respected him for saying awesome/profound stuff and for making me a better writer and apparently I won his respect from it because my fic is in his club's Hall of Fame feature thing Opalmoon-She's seen me around? Remembers me from YCMthropology? Wind Sorcerer Vaati-Guess he warmed up to me? I consider him a friend and respect his logical prowess and his attitude on stuff, and, well, his bio says I'm a good friend of his Fading Black-See Shadow Zero, though on a deeper level (no homo)
Wherever I mentioned YCMthropology, that was a place where we debated issues of YCM and took everything seriously. Mods like Flame, Icy, Opal, and debaters like Dark, Amethyst, and Vaati posted there a lot and we actually did half-convince YCMaker to get rid of the PM glitch. Just saying that because that was all debate and in-depth discussion, not "mindless" chatter as you accuse most clubs of doing. So basically, you could say some of the voters did so "mindlessly", but most of them were people I've talked to and have formed bonds with (know it's corny, don't know how else to phrase it), and that almost all are my friends. And hey, some people don't like explaining why they're picking one over the other. Lots of people don't bother commenting when voting, even I only do it for particular matches, not a common thing for me. And who says acquaintances can't vote for another acquaintance? There a rule against it? The fact you have acquaintances mean you either have some common ground with them, or people have a good impression of you. Composer probably has just as many and that they simply don't frequent General, unlike me, where I've made all my acquaintances with. That's the one problem with the YMB I guess, that it's mostly a General event. I guess it's because most CCers stay away from it and therefore don't gain proper recognition from the General crowd. If YMB was made aware to the whole website, maybe it'd have a better assessment on the "best" YCM member. But in the end, it's just a popularity contest. So it's about who has the most friends or acquaintances. A way to kill time. So you could probably say winning the YMB really isn't that big a deal outside of General, or at all.
I guess this is what I meant when I suggested there being a bit more to these tournaments(before the guy who hosted one of them PMS'd on me). And Q&A in the thread or some s*** like that so aren't restricted to just names and avatars in the voting threads would make these kind of topics a lot more interesting. Most of the great members have little exposure, whereas any derp can and usually does join a massive club to reel in votes.

What happened was you came in saying "Eh, I'd be more interested in a different tournament bracket and/or one with some special rules." To which I replied, "...Like what?" You replied, "Anything to avoid the common vote after vote without much interest; I can't think of anything specifically but whatevs." I said, "Well, either come up with some new ideas or live with the way it is :/ I can't really think of a way to elaborate on the process already, so there may be no alternative." Here, I explained I couldn't think of an idea and if you wanted change, you needed to offer something specific or be stuck with it because I couldn't help you. No PMSing at all bro. You then replied, "I don't think I will WITH THAT SNIPPY ATTITUDE OF YOURS." I replied, "Not really snippy, just blunt. But I don't have a problem with the way it is, so I can live with that :3" There, I was trying to say that I wasn't trying to act snobbish and write you off, perhaps you were just joking with me and I failed to recognize that, but since I didn't know you that well, I took you as to being serious. If you were serious, then I was indeed being blunt and neutral on the matter, not looking down on you simply because you disagreed with me. THEN you said, "Unbemused smileys aren't blunt, they're bitchy." Obviously trolling. You avoided the topic we were discussing and sought an attack on me simply because of a smiley in my post. Even if my smiley could have been interpreted that way, that wasn't me trying to get a rise out of you. This was what brought on the following responses: Fading Black, "Everyone uses them, though. >_> Prime example. Being blunt." Me, "Don't stray off-topic, either talk to Dark, offer suggestions, or kindly quit trolling <3" I'll admit the heart may have been a tad bitchy, but it was in defense to your trolling in the form of blunt politeness. Either way, not PMSing. I just wanted to avoid an argument that you sought to incite. You then said, "This can all end right here if you just stop with the hating." There was no hating. I don't hate anyone. Almost. We were not hating on you just because we were explaining that being bitchy wasn't my intention and that we simply wanted to avoid a confrontation and get back to the topic we were discussing. Which YOU changed, the one who started it. I then replied, "You're the one who said my smilies were bitchy >__>" Sure, maybe a bit immature of me, but I felt offended that you tried trolling me because I told you you weren't getting your way because you wouldn't offer a solution to a problem you wanted fixed. If I explained that I didn't know how to change it, attacking me because I don't have a solution to your problem doesn't solve anything, it would only lead somewhere off-topic and far from solving your complaint. Then Black capped it off, "Vuvu, just get out. There was no hate, you just said we needed a new system, but did not contribute a new one. Then got defensive when Fusion was blunt, because you contributed nothing. Kindly leave." Which basically summed it up. Sure, he probably could have said it more nicely, but in all honesty, with your reputation as a troll and with your intentions made clear with your last 2 posts, I suppose he felt it wouldn't be a problem to just make that bold statement in blunt politeness. And after that, Petrosian came out of nowhere hating on Black simply for stating how it is. My point being, we were trying to act civil and were not at all PMSing. We just didn't want to incite the conflict any further and were simply explaining we didn't want an argument. I also feel confident in saying I was in a good mood that day and most likely had a blank expression on my face during that entire mini-argument. ~/Coolio Prime\~
You were taking everything I said far too seriously.
I also feel confident in saying I was in a good mood that day
Also, further evidence to the PMS theory. Point is a suggestion shouldn't be immediately dismissed if it doesn't have an ultimate answer within it. No one else had mentioned it before, and now it looks like some people are pretty mad that joining a club in essence gets you an automatic number of votes. Doesn't really matter though, it's just a poll contest that can't incite the votes of the silent majority.
Fusion X. Denver
Correct, it doesn't matter much in the end. But just letting you know, joining a club won't automatically get you votes, that only applies for certain members. And I wasn't PMSing.
