Εϝολυτιον Posted January 27, 2011 Author Report Share Posted January 27, 2011 Well, if the Earth is end-of-the-wrold, fire-engulfed, I highly doubt there would be enough time to Terraform a planet and then move over there. It could take centuries to do, so why not have a backup planet just in case? But, yes, the planet would have to be similar to earth in many, many ways. That's why a lot of people point to Mars as the highest possibilities. Mars and Earth is similar in many ways. I don't even know why people think Venus would be good. I guess we could live in spaceships the res of our lives. I'm not even going to go on about Jupiter's moon. I agree. I think it wouldn't be in our lifetimes or even our children's children lifetime. It just depends on if scientists ever find the technology for it. Hell, they don't even have the tech to blast a asteroid/comet to a billion pieces if one comes close to Earth, so them having the tech to Terraform a planet is highly unlikely.
