S333666
This has been bugging me for awhile but, I would like to know, if America truely is a "FREE" country, why do we need to pay for everything? What, we can do what we want but cannot get anything for free? Just wanna know what you guys think about it.

Yang Xiao-Long
"Free country" and "not getting anything for free' are two different things. Free country refers to the freedoms in rights that the country's laws provide. Getting things for free has its basis in economics. Nothing is ever free. There will always be a cost to your "free" item.
S333666
Well, unless you steal it. But the cost to that is being locked up, which depending on what you stole, could be nothing at all so?

It's like saying "I own the US now because it's a free country and I decided to claim ownership of it."

Even when you go to the soup kitchen to get some free food, somebody's paying for it.
Nu.
[quote name='S333666' timestamp='1296004295' post='4961026'] why do we need to pay for everything?
