Nightshade Seraph (first real attempt at RC)

Expelsword

This was originally in AO Cards, but the comments I got were few and "10/10" I don't think it's that good, but I DO want to know if it is realistic...

"When your opponent activates an effect which would remove 3 or more cards you control from the field, you can negate that effect and destroy that card to Special Summon this card from your hand. When this card is used as a Synchro Material Monster, select one face-up monster on the field, this monster's level is treated as the selected monster's level."

This is a new card which I have crafted, it is meant to be a more splashable alternative to Starlight Road, but also has a variable level effect.

Does this make it too good?

Well, considering "Heavy Storm" has gone; only "Lightning Vortex" and "Dark Hole" (semi-splashables) are capable of fulfilling this card's Special Summoning conditions. That and the older, less-useful field-nukers. Only monsters like "Judgment Dragon" and "Daedalus" could realistically trigger this; and your opponent will most likely have something face-down to deal with that. If not, "Monster Reincarnation" and "Monster Reborn" will bring back what you tried to get rid of. And when you compare "Starlight Road", you do get a "Stardust Dragon" out of it; while this gives you a Level 1 0/0, most likely summoned on your opponent's turn; ready to be obliterated.

This is...situational at best. You'll need to know what your opponent is running. Otherwise it's a dead draw. There are better Level 1s out there.

6/10.

That was a nice breakdown of the Special Summon, but you don't think the level copy is too powerful?

Yes. I simply didn't comment on it because this card's use would be limited, probably only used in "Chaos" Spellcaster Decks, and then only as removal fodder for the "Chaos" monsters.

I can't think of anytime that I would use this accept against a D.D. deck
3/10 + Pic
2/10 - Card OCG "Super Special Edition?"
1/10 - Bad ATK for that kind of monster, I reccomend 1200 - 1000 ATK and 700 - 500 DEF
1/10 - Name
Total: 7/10

Ehh, what? Umm, 1200-1000 ATK for a Level 1? D.D., why? Use proper grammar please. Don't smiley like mad. It's stupid. Rate on effects please. I'm sure the creator would much more appreciate it.

Seriously though, it wouldn't be too effective in the current format. With Dark Hole and Lightning Vortex Limited, this would see very little use. I'm possibly seeing a use in Tech Genus, as you can increase the Level of another monster then do an instant Synchro with Formula Synchron or something else similar. As Max said, Chaos decks might be able to Side Deck it, just in case they're against something like Lightsworns.

Also, just realized it works with Giant Trunade.
