Awakening of the Corrupted Monk

Lord Panda

Recommended Posts

Today I noticed that even though I've made quite a few cards, I haven't actually posted any. So, I figured I would whip up a few cards to kinda show what I can do. And I must say, I'm actually quite proud of myself. So, without (much) further ado, I would like to present the "Corrupted Monk" series. Image credit goes to Jazinkay, the names are from the Filipino language (provided by Google Translate), and I'm really not that concerned about my OCG. Please Enjoy!

Lore: When this card is Normal Summoned or Flip Summoned, it is switched to defense position. This card cannot be destroyed as a result of battle (damage calculation is applied normally). Once per turn, during your main phase, you can remove from play 2 cards in your graveyard to Special Summon 1 level 1 monster with "Corrupted Monk" in its card name from your hand or deck. During your end phase, if you control 1 each of "Katawan, Knowledge of the Corrupted Monk", "Kaluluwa, Soul of the Corrupted Monk", "Baluti, Armor of the Corrupted Monk", and "Balasik, Ferocity of the Corrupted Monk", you can tribute these 5 monsters along with this card to Special Summon 1 "Yakapin Kaululan, the Corrupted Monk" from your extra deck.
Personal Note: I didn't really know how to write his last effect out, so I just gave it my best shot.

Lore: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be destroyed as a result of battle (damage calculation is applied normally). If this card is Special Summoned by the effect of "Katawan, Body of the Corrupted Monk", you can look at the top 5 cards of your deck and replace them in any order.

Lore: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be destroyed as a result of battle (damage calculation is applied normally). If this card is Special Summoned by the effect of "Katawan, Body of the Corrupted Monk", draw a card. You can remove from play 1 card in your graveyard to destroy 1 card on the field. Your opponent then randomly selects 1 card in your hand. If it is a spell or trap card, add 1 of your removed from play monsters to your graveyard and increase your opponent's life points by an amount equal to the monsters level x200.
Personal Note: I would probably designate this as the most useful of the 5 "pieces".

Lore: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be destroyed as a result of battle (damage calculation is applied normally). If this card is Special Summoned by the effect of "Katawan, Body of the Corrupted Monk", its original DEF is doubled.

Lore: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be destroyed as a result of battle (damage calculation is applied normally). If this card is Special Summoned by the effect of "Katawan, Body of the Corrupted Monk", its original ATK is doubled. You must remove from play 1 card in your graveyard to declare an attack with this card.

And finally:

Lore: This card can only be Special Summoned by the effect of "Katawan, Body of the Corrupted Monk". When this card is Special Summoned, send the top 5 cards of your deck to the graveyard. Once per turn, if this is the only monster on your side of the field, you can draw a card. You can remove from play 2 cards in your graveyard to destroy 1 card on the field. Your opponent then randomly selects 1 card in your hand. If it is a spell or trap card, add 1 of your removed from play monsters to your graveyard and increase your opponent's life points by an amount equal to the monsters level x300. If your life points are equal to or less than half of your opponent's life points, you can double the original ATK and DEF of this card. This effect can only be used once during the current duel, during either player's turn.
Personal Note: In case I wasn't clear enough, that last part only refers to the ATK/DEF doubling effect.

So, what do you think?

i think "Yakapin Kaululan, the Corrupted Monk" should not be a fusion monster but then again it has the feel of a fusioin monster

but having it as a effect monster would be just as great as well

will there be any spells traps tuners and sychros to go with this idea ?

(6 ideas to go with this concept)

1 a field spell card with some kind of effect that go with this idea of yours

2 have some effect monster with the Corrupted Monk in its card name but the effect of the monster is like this card's name is treated as for example "Balasik, Ferocity of the Corrupted Monk"

3 a "Malefic Yakapin Kaululan, the Corrupted Monk" that remove from play "Yakapin Kaululan, the Corrupted Monk" to Specail Summon it

4 a sychro monster with a simmiler effect but it requires
1 "the Corrupted Monk" (turner monster) + "Yakapin Kaululan, the Corrupted Monk" to sychro summon it but its the best card in the exrta deck and or regular deck

5 tuners monster that have effect that help you idea out

6 Spell and Traps Duh

First of all, I made him a fusion so that he wouldn't end up becoming a dead draw. As for your six ideas:

1. Field Spell is actually a good idea, I just need to find the right image.
2. Eh, maybe 1 or 2. This whole strategy relies on getting out 5 monsters ASAP to Summon Yakapin Kaululan. Plus, The component monsters (specifically Balasik, Baluti, and Kaluluwa) are pretty useful by themselves.
3. No. Just, no. Besides, the Malefic series is mostly just Dragons used by main characters.
4. That just seems superfluous, plus, one of Yakapin Kaululan's effects can only be activated while he's the only monster on your field.
5. I don't need them, this strategy doesn't use or need synchro monsters.
6. Also a good idea, but I have the same problem I have with the first one: finding the right images.

well the body requires the correct cards what i was sugesting was effect monstern named xxx but the effect says all long this is on the field treat this card name as "Katawan, Knowledge of the Corrupted Monk" to make it eaiser to summon "Yakapin Kaululan, the Corrupted Monk (these cards can be consider as spares are an extra in case you need if something happen to one of your peice)
It's a nice idea, especially for a newer member (not that I can really call you that, since you've been lurking for a while, apparently).

Sadly, i'm too hopped up on five vicodin (maybe not so sadly? ;) ) to read over each individual effect, seeing as they're a bit lengthy, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But I like the overall concept, so I gave you a +rep to make up for my lack of a real review.

As we say in Kentucky: "Ain't nothing wrong with a little vicodin now and then."
Okay, we don't actually say that.
