A t-rex Named SUE

If Sue is the most perfectly preserved Tyrannosaurus discovered, wouldn't that mean there would be enough DNA to actually re-create a dinosaur (or are the laws set by the government that prohibits cloning going to be a roadblock again)? All I would want to see is a real, living and breathing dinosaur come back onto this world (Well, there may not be enough space for it).

well actually, its just the biggest t-rex preserved. But it is possible to clone a dinosaur, a man cloned his sheep. though it would take longer because the sheep had a fresh blood sample, and a t-rex bone would very small dna samples

True. However, more DNA samples would increase the speed of the process if I am not mistaken? I hope there isn't any gargantuan argument of National proportions over resurrecting dinosaurs from DNA.

So I guess you cannot implant Dinosaur DNA in Chicken or Alligator eggs then?

Sue was auctioned for 8.6 million dollars.

Believe it or not, a prime long bone specimen from any dinosaur species has its soft tissue preserved at the joint ends. When this tissue is treated in the lab, it will regain its elasticity.

Also, one guy believed that dinosaurs descended from birds. To prove this, he was able to genetically modify a chicken to grow teeth in its beak.
The chicken didn't hatch though, unfortunately.

But yes, cloning a dinosaur could be possible one day.

On the topic of Sue: I've never seen her, but I can just imagine that she'd be quite the site for a dinosaur lover. (I was one as a child. I guess that happens to you when you are able to say Tyrannosaurus Rex and Brachiosaurus in preschool xD)

If I had 8.6 million dollars I would have bought a house, not a f•••ing dinasaur.
