SOUL FINDERS: CHAPTER ONE.
One rough night...

It is a dark and stormy night and there is barely anyone around, there is a figure running and panting around the streets assumingly trying to find somewhere out of this terrible weather around them.
‘Ugh, I hate overnight shifts especially during stormy weather like this!’ Suddenly a flash of lightning only just missed the figure who stumbled to the ground in complete fear and shock. ‘Jesus Christ that was close! I’m barely lucky to be conscious after that. I have to keep running I just have to!’ The figure stood back up and started running again pacing themselves faster and faster trying to go to where ever they have to be. ‘Ugh, a sixteen year old guy like me shouldn’t have to be working. Why the hell did I even go for that job at ‘The Golden Crane’ in the first place?’ The boy thought as he continued running through the streets.

He is not alone though, little does he know there are people on the rooftops watching him from above whispering amongst themselves as they stalk him.
“Yo boss, you sure this kid is the target? My Enerk Radar isn’t picking up anything from him.” One of the stalkers asked while he tapped a device in his hand.
“Oh Slice we all know your Enerk radar has been broken for weeks. Mine is showing all kinds of Energy from this kid’s soul.” One of the other stalkers laughed which irritated Slice.
“HEY SHUT UP BRICK!!” Slice shouted as he leaped onto Brick and held one of his knives close to his comrade’s throat.
“Would you moron’s please shut the hell up? This kid may have good hearing and could hear us!” Another stalker said as he bumped both of his goon’s heads together.
“Sorry boss.” Both of the goons replied.
“We’re extremely fortunate that there happens to be thunder and lightning around us otherwise he would have heard us for sure. Now, we must kill him as fast as possible before those guys from The Academy show up.” The goon announced and jumped onto another building.
“Well you heard him Slice, let’s get going!” Brick told Slice and they both followed their boss.

“Burr it’s so cold. I feel like I am about to die.” The boy said to himself when suddenly three figures jumped down from the roofs, blocking the boy’s path. “Whoa that was the most awesome thing I have seen in my entire life! Just who are you guys?” The boy asked in amazement as the three figures showed themselves.
“Oh I’m just your average neighborhood Spiderman, and these two are my sidekicks!” Slice announced as Brick slapped the back of his head. “Ouch why the hell did you do that it was just a joke!” Slice shouted at Brick as he rubbed the back of his head.
“Because you’re a complete idiot, that’s why I hit you.” Brick replied as the boss facepalmed.
‘Why was I ever paired up with these two...’ He thought to himself as Brick and Slice began fighting with each other. He walked up to both of them and bumped their heads again, this time causing them to have nosebleeds.
“OUCH THAT F*CKING HURT BOSS!” Slice shouted in agony as he held his forehead and nose.
“Ahem, now to get back to business we are here to kill you boy.” The boss announced and tackled the boy to the ground, who struggled to get him off.
“Ugh, why are you trying to kill me?” The boy asked when suddenly another figure came out of nowhere and kicked the boss off from the boy.
“Quick grab my hand!” The figure grabbed the boys hand and dashed away through the streets with him. The boy examined the figure while they were running and could see it looked like a female figure. The two continued running through the streets while the goons were left behind and confused on what just transpired.

“Ugh boss, what the hell just happened?” Brick asked as he picked their boss from the ground.
“WHAT DO YOU THINK JUST HAPPENED? I GOT KICKED RIGHT IN THE F*CKING FACE! WHERE DID THEY RUN OFF TO?” The boss shouted as Brick and Slice looked around looking confused. “FORGET IT I’LL JUST LOOK ON THE ENERK RADAR.” The boss pulled out his device from his jacket and could see a huge dent made in it. “WHAT? DON’T TELL ME I BROKE IT DURING MY FALL!” The boss shouted at his device.
“Ugh, you broke it during your fall?” Slice said which only angered his boss, whose face was now completely red.
“WHAT PART OF DON’T TELL ME DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND? BRICK GIVE ME YOUR RADAR!” The boss demanded as Brick gave him his radar. “They went over there come on let’s go!” The boss shouted as he dashed towards the appointed direction.

“Just who are you, who are they, what’s going on?” The boy asked as he continued running alongside his savior.
“I’ll tell you later when we’re in the clear but for now we need to get you safe!” The girl replied as they continued running through the streets.
“The name’s Thomas Ki-”
“I know who you are, just shut up until we get you to safety okay?” The girl interrupted Thomas.
“Okay.” Thomas agreed and continued running along silently with the girl.
“We’re here.” The girl announced as Thomas looked confused.
“But it’s just an empty alley way…” Thomas replied as the girl looked through a bunch of cardboard boxes. ‘Just what exactly is she looking for?’ Thomas asked himself as he just stood there watching as the girl removed a bunch of the boxes.
“Okay climb down this!” She told Thomas as she lifted up a sewer opening.
“We’re going to the sewers?” Thomas questioned which angered the girl.
“Oh don’t be such a little b*tch, climb down here if you want to live.” The girl replied as she climbed down the sewer ladder.
‘I guess I really don’t have much of a choice.’ Thomas thought to himself and began climbing down after the girl.

“Well it seems you decided to come down here, well then follow me.” The girl announced as Thomas landed in some of the sewer water, ruining his work trousers.
‘Ugh, mother is not going to be happy about this.’ He thought to himself as he watched the girl walk through the relatively low sewer waters.
“Come on just a little further!” The girl encouraged Thomas, who followed the girl through one of the sewer pipes.
‘I hope so, I can’t stand these sewers.’ Thomas thought to himself while following the girl. “So just who are you?” Thomas asked hoping for an answer.
“The name’s Kaela Thompson. I’m a student at Soul Protection Academy, and those guys chasing us want your soul.” Kaela replied.
“But why would they want my soul?” Thomas asked.
“Because your soul is an Enerk Soul, Enerk Souls make certain people faster, stronger, smarter and live longer than most common people.” Kaela replied.
“But I’m not faster, stronger, or smarter than anyone else at my school and they’re just about as common as you can get!”
“That’s because you haven’t realized your talents yet! Answer me this. Do you actually try hard to achieve anything at your school?”
“Actually, I kind of just tune out of lessons and slump off...” Thomas replied.
“That’s it you just haven’t found your potential because you slack off all the time. If you put some effort into your life you would have found something you’re good at by now!” Kaela stopped as Thomas had an ashamed look on his face. “Hey, what’s wrong?” She asked.
“I actually used to be a hard worker in the 7th grade I used to play basketball and was good academically. That was until an injury occurred while playing basketball, I twisted my ankle and when I came back to play I just never really had the competitiveness I had before the ankle injury. Not only that but the girlfriend I had at the time left me for my best mate who was playing much better than me when I returned. I was so upset that I just didn’t care about life anymore I only managed to pass primary school because I had great grades throughout most of the year and the teachers still saw some potential in me.” Thomas replied and looked back up at Kaela.
“Wow that sucks. But it’s all in the past come on! I’m sure you’re still a great basketball player!” Kaela smiled which seemed to cheer Thomas up.
“You really think so?” Thomas asked.
“Yep but come on we still have a bit further to go before we reach our destination.”
“Where exactly is our destination?” Thomas asked.
“Why ‘The Soul Protection Academy’ of course! It’s just through these sewers come on otherwise you’ll stink even worse.” Kaela replied as Thomas chuckled and continued walking behind Kaela.

“GRR DAMN IT WE LOST THEM! EVEN THE RADAR ISN’T PICKING HIS SOUL ANYMORE!” The boss shouted as he smashed the radar on the ground.
“Uh boss do you really think smashing our last radar was such a good idea?” Brick asked.
“DOES IT MATTER? WE LOST HIM, WE DON’T NEED IT ANYMORE!!!” The boss shouted at Brick who is trying to calm him down.
“Look boss, I was just suggesting that we still need that for future missions, you know Diabolos hates paying for new radars...” Brick said as the boss seemed to calm down a little bit and instead be reduced to fear.
“You’re right we’ve got much bigger problems, we’ve failed the mission and broke three Enerk Radars. We’d be extremely lucky if he forgives us one more time.” The boss said while shedding a slight tear.
“Indeed you will be Mr. McGee.” All three goons looked at a figure that was walking towards them.
“WAAAH JAMAL you were here the whole time?” Mr. McGee asked trembling in fear.
“Well, not the entire time I had several scouts around watching your move, you guys are the bottom of our organization and I can clearly see you are no longer worthy of being associated with us. However I am a forgiving person I will allow you live, but you are no longer working for us. Now be gone before I change my mind.” Jamal said and turned his back on the three goons, who were all huddled in fear.
“Thank you Jamal, sir.” All three goons thanked Jamal as he disappeared into the darkness.
“I swear that guy is about as scary as his father.” Brick said.
“I guess that he goes by the saying ‘Like father, like son’ eh?” Slice added.
“What’ll we do for a job now boss?” Brick asked.
“Simple isn’t it? We will work our way back into the organization by killing that kid and offering his soul to the organization.” Mr. McGee replied.
“But didn’t we just get our asses kicked? And how are we going to track him down without working radars?” Slice asked as he tapped his broken radar.
“Well it’s obvious that the kid lives in this area so we won’t need new radars. But I suggest we find a job somewhere to earn some sort of an income and rent out some place here.” Mr. McGee replied.
“Great idea boss.” Slice and Brick applauded.

1 hour later

“Ugh, I don’t mean to sound impatient but are we there yet Kaela?” Thomas asked tiredly.
“Open your eyes Thomas we’re here!” Kaela sounded enthusiastically as she began climbing another sewer ladder. Thomas began climbing up after her and could see under her skirt that she was wearing white panties. This gave Thomas a nosebleed and made him fall off the ladder and land in the sewage water. Kaela looked down at Thomas who was floating in the water. “Thomas you’re so dirty, get out of there and climb up!” Kaela shouted as she continued climbing. Thomas eventually got up out of the water and began climbing the stairs, this time thinking ‘Don’t look up Thomas, Don’t look up!’

Soon he managed to climb out of the sewer and could see Kaela already outside waiting for him.
“Took you long enough, anyways look over there at that tall building that’s the Academy!” Kaela pointed towards a fancy looking academy that was made visible with lights surrounding it.
“Are there any beds in there where I can sleep?” Thomas said drowsily.
“Yep and there’s a bunch of showers to! Come on let’s go.” Kaela said and dashed off towards the academy.
‘Oh joy, more running.’ Thomas sarcastically thought to himself and began walking towards the academy.

Just an update, I've tried to write chapter two but I've been a little stuck on what to do, plus my writing of chapter one wasn't the best. So I've decided to re-write chapter one and see if it helps me with what to do in chapter two.

I'll try and get more on the rewritten chapter later after I do some homework.
