Lexadin
So I kinda felt like making overcomplicated Vanuilla Support. Activate only while you control a Level 7 or higher non-Effect Monster and your opponent a Level 7 or higher Effect Monster. Switch both monsters into face-up Attack Position and they must battle this turn. Both monsters have thier effects negated and both players cannot activate any card effect besides this one this turn. During the battle calculations, both players reveal the top 5 cards of thier Deck, both players increase thier monster's ATK by 500 for each Monster Card revealed that has the same Type (non-Effect or Effect) as the battling monster until the End Phase. The player whose monster is destroyed by this battle loses Life Points equal to the send monsters original ATK. The other player draws 1 card. Img from Jazin Kays Really benificial for people who run way to many monsters. Rate/Hate/Fix/Comment
thekazu4u
Hmm... so you need at least 25 monsters in order for this to be useful.. and they need to be normal monsters... so yes, it works. And when it works, it is OPd. But since it is for a deck that does not even work that good without it, and only that one specific deck, I think it balances itself out to an extent. BTW isnt normal = non-effect, accept Normal is OCG?
mysteryman429
i like what you were tryin to do with this card... but it seems to risky to me and somewhat situational, imo... i would rather use magic cylinder than this card but i do like to see more vanilla support.. since they need as much love as they can for bein so dull
Lexadin
@thekazu4u: Actually, just having some luck will also make this usefull. Or by already having a stronger Vanilla then your opps monster. Well non-Effect can also be a Ritual, Fusion or Synchro without an effect. Making it more usable. @mysteryman429: Are you shure? Cause if your opponent has something Like Yubel and then uses its effect to destroy your non-Effect monster, you're screwed. While Magic Cylinder only stops 1 attack. mysteryman429
lol i would rather build a strong deck then rely on luck to win my duels but like i said i like the idea of this card when you have stronger non-effect on field... (maybe could be included in blue eyes support decks possibly?) and magic cylinder has finished off opponent many times for me... when they think thier gna attack to win it with a reved up monster.. its all in the timing
Lexadin
Meh, it can help. Possibly, though it then has to be a BEWD Deck with loads of non-Effect Mons. Yes it is good, but this finishes of with Armityle, All of the Temporal Machine Gods, the Yubel's and other hard to kill effect monsters and also gives out some (possible) major battle damage + It burns + it lets you draw a card. mysteryman429
i dunno for the bewd deck.. maybe use future fusion/dragons mirror, etc to bring out blue eyes ultimate (which is non-effect) ..., include spell/trap like "trade in", "ancient rules", "birthright", etc.. maybe could be included in certain decks... but i do want to see more vanilla support come out for real

ihop
At what point in the game will both players have face-up defence position level 7 or higher monster. Impossibly hard to pull off.
Lexadin
It's not part of the requirements, it's just an extra so both monsters are forced to battle one and other in ATK mode.
ihop
Fair enough. Still seems a bit situational and too relying on luck.
Lexadin
Considering how easy it is to Summon Lvl 7's, I wouldn't be suprised if the situation occured quite often. But Ok, I admit it requires quite some luck to pull this off.

Smesh
...What's the use of having this in any deck? Too situational and if played, would just be played for lulz.
Lexadin
I'd say it could be a plot device, but I agree it's not really meant for competative play.
AsterikcAde
The mechanics of this card reminds me of the Clash ability in Magic The Gathering, it's almost like a one on one specified duel between two monsters, Konami should make more cards like that, then it'll change the meta in the YGO playing environment. Very well designed card, I like! 10/
Lexadin
Finally someone that apriciates this card. Thanks for your comment, and yeah they should.
