Part the sky, summon the Sacred [Sacred Phoenix Set - 18 Cards]

Recommended Posts

Phoenixes are often known for their mythical ability to combust into flames at the end of their lives, and then to be reborn again from their ashes. The original Yu-Gi-Oh! card that implemented this mythology was "Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys", and to me has always posed the question "Why weren't more cards like this made?" Using the effects to be reborn when destroyed by card effects, very similarly to "Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys" these cards can prove to be very hard to take down, and their secondary effects can greatly benefit the player when they are resurrected by their own effects.

If this card is destroyed by a card effect, Special Summon this card from the Graveyard during your next Standby Phase. If you Special Summon this card in this way, destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on the field.

You can Tribute this card and 1 other monster to Special Summon 1 "Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys" from your hand or Deck.

And now onto the cards I have made to "create" this arch-type.

You can tribute this monster and 1 other monster on your side of the field to Special Summon one "Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys" that is removed from play or your Graveyard. When you do this, activate the effects of the monster Summoned by this effect as though it was Summoned by its own effect.

This monster's basically used to bring back and "Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys" that went wrong. Possibly by cards such as Bottomless Trap Hole, or Dimensional Prison. Since they do not trigger its ability to be special summoned in the next standby phase.

If this monster destroys a monster by battle, you can discard 1 card to add one "Sacred Phoenix" monster from your Deck to your hand. If this card is destroyed by a card effect, Special Summon it during your next Standby Phase and draw 1 card.

Some basic draw power for the Sacred Phoenix set, works well with "Burst Into Flames" to draw 2 cards in total, and because it has high attack, it would normally be the target of monster destruction cards.

If this card is destroyed by a card effect controlled by your opponent, special summon it during your next standby phase.

Almost like a vanilla "Sacred Phoenix" card, but I felt that with the stats it does have giving it an extra ability worth having may be going over the top, still provides a solid defence, but isn't too good in the sense common monsters such as "Cyber Dragon" can still beat it.

This card cannot be special summoned, except from the graveyard. When this monster is special summoned you can tribute it to special summon one level 4 or lower "Sacred Phoenix" monster from your hand, that monster cannot be destroyed in battle and is destroyed during the second end phase after this card's activation.

Decided to go with a bit of diversity from the typing. Still follows the general principle, but in stead helps in triggering the effects of the weaker monsters earlier on in the duel.

If your opponent controls more monsters than you do, you can Special Summon this card by tributing one "Sacred Phoenix" monster on your side of the field. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned, you can discard one "Sacred Phoenix" monster or one "Hand of Nephthys" from your hand to destroy 2 face-up cards on the field.

Of course a special summon directly from the hand would be going a tad too far, with the ability to destroy 2 cards. It's very useful if field advantage is lost, one could simply summon (or resurrect) a Sacred Phoenix monster then tribute it to summon Tzar, then discard another to destroy 2 cards, which can be pretty handy with "Arise from Ashes".

This monster is treated as a "Sacred Phoenix" monster. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by its own effect. This card can only be Normal Summoned or Set by tributing 2 “Sacred Phoenix” monsters on your side of the field. If this card is destroyed by a card effect, during the End Phase of the turn it is destroyed, Special Summon this card on your side of the field and destroy 1 card your opponent controls.

Of course they needed their general high-leveled "Ruler" so to speak. It's actually pretty easy to summon if you use the "Sacred Phoenix" cards' revival techniques properly, and when it's destroyed it'll almost always come back, since most monsters can't best it in battle.

This card is treated as a "Sacred Phoenix" monster. If this monster is used as a Synchro Material card for the Synchro summon of a monster, that monster must be a "Sacred Phoenix" card. If this card is destroyed by a card effect, special summon it during your next standby phase and inflict 800 damage to your opponent.

Almost like the Phoenix version of Plaguespreader.... except incredibly disimilar, since the only similarity is the revival. Still has pretty decent power for a level 3, but doesn't offer anything major outside of being the main tuner for the arch-type.

This card is treated as a "Sacred Phoenix" monster. During the End Phase of a turn when a "Sacred Phoenix" monster you control is destroyed by battle and sent to the graveyard you can Special Summon this monster from your hand in face-up Defence position. If this monster is destroyed by a card effect, draw 1 card.

Naturally it has a weaker effect, being the baby of the bunch, it is, however easy to summon, with the logic of essentially being the "revival" from battle for the arch-type. However, it isn't really a main card in the set, in terms of competitive viability, and nor is its Synchro. Since the only other Sacred Phoenix monsters that are really going to be used are level 4.

1 "Sacred Phoenix" Tuner monster + 1 "Sacred Phoenix" monster.
This monster can only be special summoned by Synchro Summon. If this card is destroyed by a card effect, during your next standby phase you can special summon one "Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys" from your hand, deck or graveyard. When you do this, activate the effects of the monster Summoned by this effect as though it was Summoned by its own effect.

Yeah, I know, it's Nephthys is Synchro form, almost exactly. It's simple, has good power and can summon Nephthys when destroyed, not much to even comment on.

1 "Sacred Phoenix" Tuner monster + 1 "Sacred Phoenix" non-tuner monster
This monster can only be summoned by Synchro Summon. When this monster is Special Summoned you can destroy 1 spell or trap card your opponent controls. If this monster is destroyed by a card effect, special summon 1 level 5 or lower "Sacred Phoenix" monster from your graveyard in your next Standby Phase.

Immediate MST effect, and revives another Sacred Phoenix from the graveyard when it's destroyed to keep the field going, even though it can't be resurrected.

Discard 1 "Sacred Phoenix" or "Hand of Nephthys" monster card from your hand to the Graveyard and Special Summon 1 level 4 or lower "Sacred Phoenix" monster or "Hand of Nephthys" from your Graveyard. Destroy that card in your 2nd End Phase after this card's activation.

Somewhat like the "Sacred Phoenix" monster reborn that also triggers their effects by destroying them at the end of your opponent's turn, so the user can take full advantage.

Destroy one "Sacred Phoenix" monster on your side of the field and draw 1 card.

Draw-engine for "Sacred Phoenix" cards, and also triggers their effects for when they return.

Select 1 face-up "Sacred Phoenix" monster on your side of the field and 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field. Destroy the selected "Sacred Phoenix" monster on your side of the field, and halve the ATK of the selected monster on your opponent's side of the field.

Permanent Shrink for a possibly desperate situation, and the monster comes back soon enough. Really helps out of tight spots.

Destroy one "Sacred Phoenix" monster on your side of the field. Take control of one monster on your opponent's side of the field until the End Phase of this turn. It cannot be tributed for a tribute summon or card effect and when the monster inflicts battle damage to your opponent, you take damage of an equal amount.

Would be useful if one doesn't intend to use the usual "Sacred Phoenix" synchro monsters, since it can be used as synchro material, and the monster sacrificed to gain control is resurrected later on.

All "Sacred Phoenix" monsters on the field gain 300 ATK and DEF points. Once, during each of your End Phases you can destroy one Winged-Beast type monster on the field.

Generic Field Spell for the most part, secondary effect is to fuel the effects of the monsters, and also completely destroyed Blackwings, should one play against them.

Activate only when your opponent declares an attack and selects a "Sacred Phoenix" monster as an attack target. Discard 1 card to negate the attack and destroy that monster. The "Sacred Phoenix" monster targeted by the attack cannot be destroyed by battle until the End Phase of the turn.

Kinda like an inferior version of Sakuretsu Armour and an inferior version of Wabuku put together, generally one or the other's going to be more useful though, however this card does fuel the graveyard.

Activate only while you control 1 face-up "Sacred Phoenix" monster. Negate the effect of an opponent's Spell, Trap, or Effect Monster and destroy 1 monster on your side of the field.

More often than not card effects are activated when the "Sacred Phoenix" monsters wouldn't immediately activate their effects when destroyed, so it's still balanced in the sense the user still has to wait to get the monster back.

Activate only when a "Sacred Phoenix" monster you control would be destroyed by battle. Destroy the "Sacred Phoenix" monster with this card's effect, and end the Battle Phase.

Helps activate the effects of a "Sacred Phoenix" that would be destroyed in battle, and helps maintain any field presence and is good for overall defence

Please do give constructive criticism where necessary, it can only help me improve.

Can you mention where exactly the OCG needs fixes please? It'd really help.
Mostly typical OCG errors:
-Capitalizing Special Summon
-Punctuation
-Wording of phrases

Other than that, they're really good. Hope you add to your set.
