Parasitic Infestation - Set [30/??]

Recommended Posts

Neither Demon nor Creature seem too OP. They both have good effects but they are balanced out quite well by their difficult summoning conditions. Demon is Creatures only target, no?
On the whole I love these cards. I would definitely make a deck out of them. Get a couple of Over-Infections on the field and voila, you can set up a sweet lockdown until you completely empty their hand, and even then you have whittled their options down to nearly nothing.
My personal fave is Parasitic Parasite :D

Except Demon's actually too easily summoned because of Ghost.

Thinking of changing Ghost to a level 7 and then changing Parasitic Parasite's gain to just 500. Thoughts?

Yeah if you change Ghost to 7* then you have to tribute a total of 5 monsters to get Creature out; 3 for the 8*, 1 for Demon and Demon for Creature. Although due to lack of swarming available to Parasites, that could take a while especially since Over-Infection, Demon and Creature all need to be normal summoned. I suppose that is acceptable to get the trump card out though.
Ultimate Offering would make this deck way more viable, especially with Ghost gaining your LP back.

Parasite gaining 500 is probably better considering that, if your average deck has about half and half monsters and S/T cards, it would probably gain an average of 1000. A 1* with a possible (although highly unlikely) 2000 atk. Yay!

Well, I changed Ghost's level to 7, but I'm still not entirely sure on Parasitic Parasite's gaining effect. Regardless, really, because they're weak there's never going to be many monsters on the field so it'll rarely get a strong enough gain, especially when all the cards sent would need to be monsters for a big gain.

A couple of things:
Parasitic Demon is nowhere near OP. These cards as a whole would be slightly unbalanced if the meta were not in favor of self-mill. As it stands, most seem all right.
Exceptions are Parasitic Parasite, Infestation Selection, and Parasitic Lockdown. Parasitic Parasite is unreasonable. Compare it to Infernity Barrier, which must be Set and has two activation requirements, or Gladiator Beast War Chariot, which can only negate monster effects. Infestation Selection has a cost, but you could call Necrovalley or Mystical Space Typhoon and screw your opponent over on Turn 1. As for Parasitic Lockdown, it blows Discord out of the water. I'd side three of 'em to use against Dragunity, Plants, and Scraps in spite of its "mill 1" cost. Perhaps because of its "mill 1" cost.

You should also worry about Parasitic Cluster Egg, because it's a searchable 2-for-1 from an empty field with no Level restrictions and a bonus effect. Tribute, bring out Pixie (face-down) and Over-Infection (face-up), spam until Over-Infection dies, flip Pixie up and grab Cluster Egg again, use Infestation Selection if the opponent is reluctant to clear your field for you, use Parasitic Cluster Egg, etc. Oh, and pick Parasitic Parasite up when you get the chance so your opponent will be hard-pressed to do anything whatsoever.

The archetype as a whole is vulnerable to Spell and Trap Cards and massively endangered by a Wattlock (Watthopper + Watthopper + Wattchimera). Parasitic Lockdown can block part of it in a rather cheap fashion, but not consistently.

Cycloptic Parasite looks like a Deck in itself, a sort of reverse Exodia FTK. Parasite Re-Call is cool for that reason. Parasitic Reaper, on the other hand, is massively underpowered. Consider adding an effect that removes cards in your opponent's Graveyard from play, because you're gonna have to do that (Soul Demolition doesn't work for long).

You should improve the wording on Infecting the Heart and Parasitic Virus because many of the monsters have multiple Trigger Effects, on Parasitic Spirit to indicate whether the second effect is compulsory, and on Parasitic Testing to say during what Phase the mill happens.

8/10

Honestly the only thing I would change for Demon is the attack points, I would change them to 3200. I know it isn't much of a change but to me it just seems better to have it's maximum at 4000 with it's effect But I'm new here so I wouldn't take my advice XD. As for creature i'd like to help but I couldn't really read it's effect too well, I'll probably read over it again to see if I can read it lol.
