Montgomery said staff volunteers told him that some men came through the museum and were talking about walls and entrances to the hall and back room. the museum, which moved into part of the former caterpillar plant in 2009,has been struggling financially ever since $200,000 worth of corporate donors backed out of their commitment late last year. Montgomery said I heard someone was coming through the building but i didn't think it was our space. a company wants to take the entire 70,000-square-foot space next to us and about half of of our museum. Montgomery said he talked to the property manager and everything was fine. Montgomery said he understands that the management company is a business and needs to be paid. operating costs are roughly $15,000 a month --- triple the overhead of the previous location. the museum is behind about $100,000 in rent and utilities, Montgomery said.we need 400 people that are able to give us $50 a month for the next year, he said. that would pay off 100 % of our bills and give us 2 years of operation capital we need while the museum becomes self-sufficient,becomes in 2 years max we will be self-sufficient,becomes of all the different programs we've put in place.visit www.wrmrrm.org for more information about the museum.
