The Dark One
This card is not just not bad, it's broken. Isn't it banned in Japan or somesuch?

It merely makes Premature Burial and (DDR + DMoC) broken. Thus, it's broken. Treeborn Frog makes Monarchs broken, but Monarchs aren't in and of themselves. Phantom of Chaos is certainly broken, but only because of its ability to abuse otherwise unusable cards. If you can save Premature Burial and DDR by banning this, I'm all for it. Is it really at 3 in Japan? Then is Premature banned there?

D.D.R. is in no danger of being banned (well, as not in danger as any card can be when it's going up against Konami). However, Premature Burial deserves banning even without Arms Hole. Pharaoh_Atem
This card is not just not bad' date=' it's broken. Isn't it banned in Japan or somesuch?[/quote'] Now now dear, it's not broken. It merely makes Premature Burial and (DDR + DMoC) broken. Thus, it's broken. This would be where you would be wrong. Treeborn Frog makes Monarchs broken' date=' but Monarchs aren't in and of themselves.[/quote'] You have a misunderstanding of how "broken" works as a term. "Broken" cards do not make non-"broken" cards into other "broken" cards. The term works to consider a card's standalone capabilities. The Monarchs generally aren't busted cards - to be honest, the game's best players have yet to pass any sort of final judgment on the matter. However, if any ARE such, they're definitely on the lower end of the scale; it is believed that it is not possible for a higher number of the game's best to pass a final judgment... until the matter is pressed further. Treeborn Frog, however, is busted. It is not busted because of what it causes with other cards, but it is busted solely because of the possibilities latent in that effect text, when combined with the other written information on said card. It itself is the reason. Phantom of Chaos is certainly broken' date=' but only because of its ability to abuse otherwise unusable cards.[/quote'] The claim is only granted up to the word "ability." The remainder of the claim is completely inaccurate; one of the best power plays of the current time is Phantom-Plasma. That ability does not even need other cards to copy in order to harm the game - Phantom's greatest damage to the game is that of restricting card design in a negative way. The present game has a lot of monsters. Right now, we can organize them into three groups: Permissible EffectsMiddleground EffectsUnpermissible Effects Permissibles are fine 100% of the time. Middlegrounders are fine only when not copied by Phantom. Unpermissibles are undoubtedly deserving of prohibition. In a game where Phantom is legal, the Middlegrounders would have to go if the game were to be its best. The problem in this matter is one of time. Over an infinite amount of time, the probability that 2 seperate Middlegrounder cards would be released... approaches 100%. Common and proper belief is that we already have at least one - Plasma. Right now, we can either say "kill Phantom for Plasma" or "kill Plasma for Phantom". It is thought that the former choice is better for the game, if only because Phantom would definitely be the better choice to kill once another Middlegrounder is confirmed. If you can save Premature Burial and DDR by banning this' date=' I'm all for it.[/quote'] Who said DDR ever needed to be touched? The only card that would definitely be considered "saved" by this would be Premature. It is indisputable that Premature itself is deserving of a Limitation at LEAST. Arms Hole takes away most of the impact of the Premature limitation, thereby restoring the card to a status that gives it more power than it should have. Now, we note that generic recursion gives no real benefit to the game. We also note that Limited Cards do less for increasing the card pool than Unlimited cards. A bigger card pool is indeed a better one. Is it really at 3 in Japan? Yes Then is Premature banned there? 1x

Death7ofsb
great card...this just might (and its a longshot) bring ben kai back up as a useable deck type. and i think that they would get rid of dmoc and DC before premature

CrabHelmet
Necrobumping is only bad if some moron posts in a topic that deserved to live for only a day. This was a relevant bump, since Prem getting banned is an important development for the topic's subject. Plus, this topic is too awesome to ever be locked.
