Emre Turk
Pokémon Yellow adventures The aim of this story would be to get smaller children using better vocabulary while keeping it interesting for fans, so I'm trying to subtly work it in there with other words they would understand whiles keeping it interesting for other readers.
Pokémon Yellow adventures Adventure 1 – Enter Misty! The sun blared down on everything in site within Cerulean city, Yellow unhurriedly paced her way through the streets and watched as children ran about in t-shirts and shorts and as the old men sat by the halcyon lakefront, fishing everything seemed tranquil. Yellow was heading towards the Cerulean city gym, walking through the archaic, paved pathway she noticed a flyer which read: Missing Pokémon, Meowth is a friendly, bubbly Pokémon who loves to eat; he has white fur and a unique light brown diamond-shape on his forehead. If you see him please contact Mary. Yellow tugged the flyer down from the wall, folded it and tucked it neatly inside her vest pocket. She was in Cerulean city which is a fairly small one at that; perhaps she could find the missing Meowth. Yellow promptly arrived at the Cerulean city gym, she tried not to think too much, she had already beaten Pewter city’s Brock, however, Misty, the leader of the Cerulean city gym is on a whole other league compared to Brock from what she had heard. Yellow took a deep breath and walked through into the Pokémon gym. The gym was nothing like what Yellow had expected, the gym had soft-marble pathways, in-between the pathway a bed of water rested and in the water several swimmers with an eager glint in their eye floated with their arms rested on the edge of the pathway. Yellow slowly walked toward the first swimmer, a lack of confidence resided within her stride. She looked shakily at her reflection in the water, even though the ripples within the water distorted her reflection she could still make out her blonde hair, black vest top and shorts. As she neared Misty one of the swimmers which rested in the water slammed his hands onto the pathway and jumped out. “Steve, at your service” the swimmer boomed. Yellow knew what was coming; she readied her Pokeball and replied with a growl in her voice “let’s go” It was a swift defeat for Yellow, bringing her to the final step of having her second gym badge. Yellow approached Misty, her right hand readied on her Pokeball, Misty gave a slight smile, this time no words were exchanged as both of them pounced into battle. The battle dragged on and on, one by one each of Yellow’s Pokémon were defeated as little by little the same happened to Misty’s Pokémon. It had finally come down to a battle of the best, Misty had only one Pokémon left she could resort to, as did Yellow, Misty didn’t hesitate and yelled “Go Starmie!” Yellow smirked; “Now, Raichu!” Misty glared; she couldn’t have asked for a worst Pokemon to be pitted against her, the electric type Raichu would be super effective against her water type Starmie. “Now Starmie use Water Gun!” Misty yelled “Raichu, use Thunderbolt!” Yellow roared, Raichu was too quick to be caught by the Water Gun attack, he dodged it in a matter of seconds and before long small but mortal, lightning energy began to build up on the surface of Raichu’s cheeks. “Now Raichu use Thunderbolt!” Raichu discharged a huge amount of electricity from the pouches on his cheeks in a split second, Misty’s Starmie sunk into the water, lifeless. “Starmie, return” Misty said as she held out her Pokeball, her arm outstretched, on this command a crimson ray beamed out of the Pokeball and loomed over Starmie and returned her into the Pokeball. “Man I must be on a losing streak or something” Misty chuckled, “hm?” Yellow replied “some girl called Green showed up here a while ago, she used her Bulbasaur to beat every single one of my Pokémon.” “So, Green was here then?” Yellow said callously “Yeah... You know her?” Misty continued and with that a solemn “Yeah” came from Yellow. “Here, take this” Misty said, “Oh right, my Cascade badge!” “Yeah, you wouldn’t get very far without it now, would you... Also, here, take this” Misty said “hm?” Yellow replied “this tm contains surf, you’ll need it for getting to distant islands, especially if the Pokémon gyms are your target” “thank you Misty, I won’t forget!” Yellow said as she made her way down the pathway and out the doors. Adventure 2 – Lost Pokémon! Meowth missing! Yellow breathed a sigh of relief as a huge grin surfaced on her face; she had beaten the second gym leader! The skies were a pastel blue and Yellow relaxed as the sun beat down on her face, her blue eyes matched that of the sea. Cerulean city is a petit city, there are a few locals but most of the people are just visiting, the majority trainers who have high hopes of beating Misty. Some of the locals care about it, mostly the elders but for most of the locals it is pleasant seeing fresh, eager faces. Yellow began to walk down to the Pokémon centre taking in all the beautiful scenery of Cerulean city; the bice trees that surrounded half of the city and the other half taken up by water, which is why Cerulean city is known as the ‘floral lagoon city’. As Yellow approached the Pokémon centre she heard a group of people shouting and squabbling, the noise came closer and closer, growing and growing. She saw a young Meowth running with an apple pouched safely in his mouth and the town’s people running after him. Yellow immediately noticed the diamond mark on his head, remembering the flyer she cried out from the top of her lungs “STOP!” all the people did so but only as to not hurt the girl who stood in their way “Move out the way girl!” one of the people yelled from amongst the crowd another voice called out; “This Meowth ate all my crops! It deserves to be punished!” “It was just hungry is all, look I know this Meowth, he means no harm” Yellow said, battling for the Meowth. “Shut up lady” “Yeah, move out our way!” “No!” Yellow said as she firmly stood her ground. All of a sudden someone threw out a Pokeball; the red beam projected high in the air and out of the Pokeball an Oddish was projected onto the ground. Within Yellow’s chest a deep growl resonated, all of her Pokemon were injured, regardless... She still had Raichu. “Raichu I choose you!” the Oddish didn’t hesitate, the trainer of the Oddish called out the command “Poison powder!” as this command was screeched Oddish jumped high in the air and out of the leaves on his head a purple powder spluttered over Raichu. Raichu bent over double like an old hag, the poison had worked! The battle carried out for another five minutes or so, Raichu missing various attacks due to the poison that was affecting him. “Sorry Raichu, I can’t let you go on like this” Yellow said, she pulled out a revive she kept in her bag, and slipped it into one of her Pokeballs. As the battled dragged out for a few more minute Raichu’s condition worsened, “Raichu, return” “That’s right kid, now hand the Meowth over to us” ...To be continued in the next chapter.
