If you have not seen the whole series and you plan to and you don't like spoilers, I highly recommend avoiding this page. This is my rendition of my "Madoka Magica" set. There are quite a bit of cards, and I kinda got lazy with the set ID part way and what not, but I hope you guys care more about the card effects than anything, so yeah... Also, I tried to keep these effects as true to the anime as possible. Also, these cards were mostly made using http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/238263-hd-cards-now-in-holofoil/ so they may look a little different than cards you're used to. Anyway, Enjoy! [b]Monsters[/b] [spoiler=Monsters] All the "Puella Magi" monsters generally share the effect of equipping themselves with a "Soul Gem" and if being destroyed by a "Soul Gem"s effect, they summon out a witch. If you've seen the series, you can see where I got these mechanics. She can't take out face-up cards like Black whirlwind and Gateway. [IMG]http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb463/Rakune_Rai/Kyubey.jpg[/IMG] ／人◕ ‿‿ ◕人＼ Once again, before you say its broken, keep in mind you have to bring this thing out in attack position, leaving you open to an attack that's only 100 damage less than what you would from a direct attack. Anyway, the defending attacks with this card's effect is based off of her time control ability. Also, if you're stuck with "Soul Gem"s in your hand, you can return them to the deck with this card's effect, so it makes a really nice addition to the deck. What I specifically like in this version that you were actually thinking about comparing it to real life cards for balance reasons. Final Wish Madoka is a bit lackluster compared to its difficult summoning condition - yep, you did mention it, I know. The other card I have problems with is Octavia - an okay defender with moderate ATK... and a penalty. There is pretty much no reason to pull it out - it is a bit disappointing , especially considering it needs a specific monster. Some more witch cards would be also good too, but overall, I enjoy the direction you went with this. An example decklist could be also interesting to read. And yeah, I'm thinking about breaking Final Wish Madoka's effect a bit more, along with some of the witches. My main goal for the witches was to have pretty broken monsters with a crummy side effect, so you didn't really want them on the field that much. But just keep in mind, if you look at the effect of the Puella Magi Monsters, bringing out the witch after destruction by the effect of a Soul Gem is mandatory, so it just might be good to have them in the extra deck just to keep bodies on the field right? Exa Raiun Posted May 18, 2011 Report Share Posted May 18, 2011 Well, you are actually right about the Witches being more like extra field presence than anything, but it's pretty risky to keep monsters on the field which may be more harmful to you than to your opponent. The sample decklist looks pretty cool - it fits really well with the concept of a Structure Deck. Probably some of the other witches could be used for more filling to the Extra Deck. Any ideas regarding that? Futile Attempt to Eliminate the Inkyubeytors: Kind of like Battle Fader, I like it, especially the fact that it doesn't go wasted even if it gets destroyed in one way or another. Grief Seed Witch - Elsa Maria: Yet another curious idea, especially considering that because of its effect, you can just ram it into your opponent's more nasty monsters to get rid of 'em. To deal with this one, your opponent will most likely has to resort to card effects to destroy this card - which means you won't take the 1500 damage because of its own effect - which only applies to "destroyed by battle"... Card Destruction. Instantly remove your opponent's hand from play... Uh... Maybe its a bit too broken... As for Elsa Maria, yeah, it's actually a lot better than a lot of the other witches. And I really wonder what is the origin of the "500 damage" effect? Elsa Maria...so I really doubt what is the result if Puella Magi Sayaka attacks that witch...although in anime, it is a proof that Puella Magi wouldn't take any physical damage, nor any pain, in extreme cases, if the oppoent attack their "zombified" body only... It seems that if you are aiming for respective way of making these cards, you can try to map all the possible effects when these Magical Girls is battling with the Witches.
