Subtype Card Color

  1. 1. Should this subtype have its own card color? (Current Color: Yellow-Green, HSV 75/100/0)

    • Yes. Keep it as yellow-green.
    • No. It should be the standard Effect Monster Red.
    • Yes, but I think yellow-green is a bad idea. I have the HSV values of a color that would be better.
    • Yes, but I think yellow-green is a bad idea. I have a different color idea, but I don't know the HSV values for that color.

Yes, I know that it is a Nebelwerfer, but I gave it an Arab twist. I do work for the GLA, after all. I'll add "Chemical Cannon" to its name to make it a bit simpler (albeit longer).

As for the effect, it's basically a Dissolver version of my ancient "Screaming Mimi" monster. If you want a monster with a long effect, you ought to check out my Radiation Burn set. I just started it, but it's got some of the longest effects I've ever written. You might want a magnifying glass if you print them out.

Incidentally, most of the Radiation Burn monsters are Dissolvers, so expect them here soon.

You let us know that then

and GLA? That's Gloabal Liberation Army from the Command and Conquer series

It took you that long to figure it out? My set names are usually in Arabic, I mention Dr. Thrax often (friend of mine), it's in my member title...come on!

No need to get testy...

Anyway, my current set will feature some more Dissolvers, so I'll post them here when I'm done with that set.

Here's the latest addition to the Dissolver family: the Radioactive Mutant set!

The main point is to get self-resurrecting Dissolver versions of such classic Fusions as Meteor B. Dragon, Gaia the Dragon Champion, and...Kamionwizard?

This monster cannot be Normal Summoned or Set unless "Endless Nuclear Winter" is on the field. This card can only be Special Summoned by its own effect. This card is also treated as a Zombie-Type monster, and as a LIGHT and DARK monster [unless they're already LIGHT or DARK, then it's just "and as a LIGHT/DARK monster]. This monster can be used as a Fusion Material Monster for a monster that requires "[normal version of this monster]". If a Fusion Monster is summoned in this way, it is treated as a "Radioactive Mutant" Dissolver monster. If this monster is sent to the Graveyard by a Spell, Trap, or monster effect, or as a result of battle, you can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard during your next Main Phase.

Here's the Radioactive Mutants' parent set, including their prerequisite "Endless Nuclear Winter". It's redundant to put the entire set in this thread, but the Radioactive Mutants are Dissolvers, so they belong here.

Now that I've gotten a fairly large project done, I'll try to take a break from big stuff and work on simpler cards for this subtype.

I finally added another Dissolver Monster. This one is meant to be a heavy card-of-the-line, similar to "Devouring Worm Apophis". Aside from having the highest printed ATK and DEF of any Dissolver, it also is meant to buff other Dissolver Monsters you might have. It even gives all Dissolvers some burn damage, a trait only Flamethrower BEttle has naturally. But it has no natural defenses, so make sure to protect it somehow.

The first poster to translate his Romanji name into English gets a free rep!

King Dokusei Kagaku

DARK
Level 9
Fiend/Dissolver/Effect
This monster cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This monster can only be Special Summoned from your hand by banishing 3 Dissolver Monsters from your side of the field or your hand. Increase the ATK of all Dissolver Monsters, except "King Dokusei Kagaku", by 350 as long as this card is on the field. When your opponent discards a card by a monster's Dissolver Effect, inflict 500 damage to your opponent's Life Points.

Here's another Support card, meant to take advantage of "King Dokusei Kagaku"'s supporting effects. It also provides a slight buff to "King Dokusei Kagaku"s ATK, but it might be better if you're going for a Dissolver swarm of some kind.

SPELL
All monsters on the field are treated as Dissolver monsters. Increase the ATK of all Dissolver monsters on the field by 350.

and I don't think that's really do anything, most monsters don't last beyond the 1 turn mark on the field anymore these days
Do really have that poor knowledge of the metagame? I think I'll get rid of the no-summon clause and cut the time down a bit, so it works with monsters you summon after its activation.

On second thought, I decided to make it into a Field Spell instead. It's hardly anything special, but neither is "Umi".

Here's another Equip Spell. It's based on this nasty chemical (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorine_trifluoride), currently #1 on Dr. Thrax's wish list! It's meant to give Dissolvers a sort of Piercing Damage. I was originally going to make this a Union Monster, but space was limited.

SPELL/Equip
Increase the ATK of a Dissolver Monster equipped with this card by 400. When a Dissolver Monster equipped with this card destroys a monster in Defense Position with its Dissolver Effect, your opponent must discard from the top of their Deck a number of cards equal to the Level of the destroyed Monster.

Something tells me the last part of the lore isn't worded correctly.

ah, the old chem days

has a very good milling effect to it, personally I don't see the need for the 400 atk boost at all
Oh, let's consider that an added bonus. Try combining this with Wattshrew and Ax of Despair--it won't have any real strategic value, but it would be pretty neat to destroy something with a toxic, electrogenic shrew wielding an ax!

Paralyzer Krait has a buddy now--"Disabler Mamba"!

DARK
Level 4
Reptile/Dissolver/Effect
When this card would be destroyed by battle, return this card to your hand. Your opponent cannot declare an attack with the attacking monster next turn.

In case you're wondering, mambas only bite when they don't have room to run (as you should know, the black mamba is the fastest snake in the world). Kraits also bite in defense, but they aren't nearly as fast. I'm working on a Fusion of the two right now, probably with an effect similar to the Venom monsters.

This set is really beginning to lose steam. I'm running out of ideas. Here's one more card:

Corrosive Commander Virus

EARTH
Level 1
Fiend/Effect
When a monster on your opponent's side of the field destroys this monster in battle, take control of that monster for the next 3 turns. Its effects are negated and it is treated as a Dissolver Monster for the next 3 turns.
100/300

Feel free to make your own Dissolvers and post them here. If there happens to be a mod reading this, would you mind moving this to Finished Sets?
