MECHSTRENGHT ARMY (aka new Machines)

Hi, guys!

Didn't post in a very long time, but it's not like anyone cares, because I'm still a "noob" member ^^

Anyway, this is a new archetype I made.

It consists of 13 cards (yay).

But it will probably grow.

As you probably guessed, it's a Machine-Type archetype.



Well, here are the cards:

(this card is kinda worse version of "Reborn Tengu", but it has a "Mechstrenght" in it's name, so it's special ^^)

[i]When this face-up card is sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 "Mechstrenght Scout" from your Deck. This card cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster, except for the Synchro Summon of a "Mechstrenght" Synchro Monster.[/i]

(maybe the Summoning effect is kinda extreme, but I'll edit it, if needed)

[i]When a non-Tuner Machine-Type monster is Special Summoned to your side of the field, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. This card can attack your opponent's Life Points directly.[/i]

(again, the Summoning effect is maybe too good...)

[i]When this card destroys an opponent's monster as a result of battle and sends it to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 "Mechstrenght Assault Unit" from your Deck.[/i]

[i]Once per turn, you can Tribute 1 Machine-Type monster you control to Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Machine-Type monster from your Graveyard.[/i]

[i]When your opponent selects a "Mechstrenght" monster you control as an attack target, other than this card, you can switch the attack to this card. Once per turn, if this card would be destroyed as a result of battle, it is not destroyed (damage calculation is applied normally).[/i]

During the turn this card is Synchro Summoned, the effects of all Spell and Trap Cards your opponent activates during the Battle Phase are negated.[/i]

If this card destroys an opponent's monster as a result of battle and sends it to the Graveyard, it can attack once again in a row. If this face-up card is selected as an attack target, you can switch it's Battle Position before the damage calculation.[/i]

[i]1 Synchro Tuner Machine-Type monster + 1 or more non-Tuner Synchro Machine-Type monster(s)
When this card is Synchro Summoned, select 1 card on the field and destroy it. Once per turn, you can discard 1 card from your hand to Special Summon 1 Machine-Type monster from your Graveyard. When this face-up card is selected as an attack target, you can switch it's Battle Position.[/i]

(this is, of course, the obligatory over-powered card of the archetype... I think)

[i]Activate this card by selecting 1 face-up "Mechstrenght" monster you control. Destroy the selected monster, and Special Summon up to 3 "Mechstrenght" monsters whose combined Levels equal or are lower than the destroyed "Mechstrenght" monster from your hand or Graveyard. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase during the turn you activate this card.[/i]

(Field Spell, maybe OP'd)

[i]A new Field Spell Card cannot be activated. Once per turn, you can add 1 "Mechstrenght" card from your Deck to your hand. If you do, you cannot Normal Summon or Set during that turn. Also, all face-up "Mechstrenght" monsters gain 200 ATK.[/i]

[i]Once per turn, when a Special Summoned Machine-Type monster would be destroyed, you can discard 1 card from your hand to prevent it from being destroyed.[/i]

(meh, a worse Premature Burial)

[i]Pay 800 Life Points. Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Machine-Type monster from your Graveyard. Destroy it, and remove it from play during the End Phase.[/i]

(I don't know if the OCG is right...)

[i]You can activate this card only when a Special Summon of a Machine-Type monster would be negated. Negate the effect and destroy the card that would negate the Special Summon.[/i]

So, tell me what do you think of this AT, tell me if the cards are over-powered, etc....

Unnecessary, it's a 2400 beatstick that requires you to destroy a monster by battle. It's not overpowered at all. It's not even that easy to bring out with this archetype, and there are cards that severely limit special summoning and are staples in most decks. >__>

Honestly some people need to familiarize themselves with the meta-game before they post.

The archetype itself relies heavily on summoning power, and it very easily gets shut down by cards like Oppression. In my opinion, raise the attack of assault to something like 1400 or 1500. 1300 isn't much. You also don't need the attack halve, considering if you wanted to assault spam it would be for a synchro; the attack is too meager for it to warrant that effect.

Recycler, Scout, and Sentinel are solid cards. Blaster reminds me of a reverse Scrap Chimera for some reason, but it really isn't that imbalanced either.

For the synchros, Amplifier is simple yet very deadly if brought out. I almost want to say it's overpowered, but the fact it can be destroyed very simply offsets that, so kudos.

As mentioned before, Cannon is a solid synchro for this set.

I want to say Fortress is a bit too strong, but it's really not that easy to bring out. So once again, balanced.

Genesis is situational and doesn't fit the theme of the archetype all too well. It isn't bad persay, as it pretty much resets the duel. (outside of LP) But there is no real theme. Overpowered? Somewhat. It does reset the duel and that can be pretty crippling for your opponent, but there's the chance of bad hands.

All in all the set is very simple, balanced (with I guess the exception of Genesis, which really doesn't fit the set anyways.), but not very original. (once again, outside of Genesis)

If you add some support, I recommend adding more summoning power/your set's method of stopping cards like oppression.

Oh, yeah, Rarity, I didn't realize it was unoriginal. I don't know much about Scraps (if it reminds you of them), Machinas, etc. :/

Given that it has to be removed from play during the End Phase, you can start by lowering the LP pay. Though for the machine monster that you special summon you should also say it can't be used for synchro summoning when it's summoned
